Have been coming here twice a week for the past few months. I left a very positive review before and have always enjoyed it here. Always a pleasant place to enjoy a lunch and dinner. Today's experience was a disgrace. Sending an item back caused the chef to turn aggressive and cursing in Italian and I felt very uncomfortable. I was worried he would spit in my food. He was slamming plates and saucepans. I really wanted to leave then. The recipes have all changed and the food seems like it is microwaved out of a freezer. Just as we finished the starters te mains were on the table. The famous chicken wings now have indian seasoning. This was a huge disappointment. The only thing that was not a problem was the helpful staff. I will never return here again and I am extremely disappointed that such a nice place could become so bad due to the appalling chef. I would urge people to go elsewhere. Or go here at your own risk. ( the chef may really snap out sometime)

I came here a few weeks ago with some friends as a friend had recommended the €10.95 deal which included a starter and main course, unfortunately, the cost had risen by €2 in a week and it now cost €12.95. We couldn't believe it when we went here on Sunday and the price had risen yet again to €13.95 and the options had been changed. Definitely not worth it. The restaurant is uncomfortable and lacks any kind of atmosphere. The service is shocking, our mains arrived before the plates from our starters had been removed. The staff are quite frankly rude and I will not be returning here again, if it wasn't for the location of this restaurant, it most certainly would have closed down by now!

There was a good range to choose from on the menu, we went for bruschetta to start and followed with pizza. The bruschetta was tasty and very big, I was quiet full after it and would have preferred more time between the starter and the main but it came straight way. The pizza was at least 12inch and had the right ratio of cheese to toppings and sauce, very nice but unfortunately I couldn't finish it! All the ingredients were very fresh. We had two house wines which were adequate for the price. Service was attentive and friendly, the only bad thing about this restaurant is that they have crammed so many tables in that there literally isn't room to move! I don't know how the staff manage!

Have been here once before and enjoyed it, came back again for lunch with a work colleague. They had a lunch menu for 2 people for €19.95 for 2 courses each. While the choice isn't the most imaginative, sometimes simplicity is the best foot forward! The Bruschetta was super fresh, the bread was crispy, the tomatoes having been marinated in perhaps a little too much garlic. The real stars of the show in this place are their pizzas though, delightfully thin and crispy base and the perfect balance of toppings. Filling without being stuffed. Looking forward to going back here again!

The restaurant is in temple bar which is a great location. The set dinner had very little choice, however, it was pretty cheap at only €10.95 for 2 courses. A bottle of house wine was only €12.50 which is great value for temple bar. The wine was nice as long as your not too fussy. The food was tasty and the portion sizes were generous. The service was poor with the main courses arriving before the starters had been removed. Its a nice place for a casual dining experience.

This used to be a favourite restaurant of mine and my fiancé. However we have not been there in about 2 years. We are usually very impressed with the service and food. Today we visited the restaurant and my opinion has been drastically changed. Their early bird special has very little to offer either garlic bread or veg soup as starter and either pizza or Bolognese as a main for 9.95 per person. Upon arrival to a fairly quiet service we were seated by the window and left alone for 10 minutes without an offer of a drink. When the waitress came to take our order I had to repeat my order 3 times as her English was appalling. We decided to go with the early bird special 2 garlic breads and a pizza and Bolognese. The garlic bread was overcooked. My fiancé had his bolognese served before my pizza which I had to wait an additional 8 minutes for. The bolognese couldn't be described any more than meat flavoured puree and the pizza was entirely soggy. The food is cheap but not worth the money you pay and Celine Dion on repeat is not the best atmospheric music for dinner... I will not recommend this establishment to anyone and will not return.

Myself and my boyfriend went to this restaurant on a Friday evening a few weeks back. Were very impressed with the quality of food at this small Italian restaurant. We both had the bruschetta to start, which was not mind blowing, more like chopped tomatoes on toast. But the mains, seafood pasta for myself and pepperoni and salami pizza for my boyfriend were excellent. The pizza especially, proper Italian style with thin crispy base and mouthwatering sauce. Service was good but one fault was the chart dance music being blared for the first 45 mins we were there, a bit out of place, and a little annoying. Also, they don't offer an early bird menu, which may be off putting as all restaurants in the Temple Bar do. But besides that, excellent, and a bottle of wine for €12! I'll definitely return

I was hungry in Temple Bar with some friends, and stumbled by this restaurant. It is very relaxed and doesnt look too expensive. We went in and were kindly greeted by a waitress and shown to a table. The menu looked good from outside, and the prices looked even better! The food came out quite quickly, and was to a high standard. I had a pizza, that tasted just like they do in Italy!! It was well worth the visit and i will be returning, for the atmosphere, great food and cheap prices!!!

I was hankering after my previous holdiay in Dubrovnik today, dying to sit outside a nice cafe bar and have a drink but all I could hear was "traditional music" blaring out of Temple Bar Taverns. Then we came across La Gondola. We asked would it be possible to have a beer outside and the very friendly waitress replied "of course". We sat outside and read the Sunday papers whilst we sipped our peroni - ah yes, I was back in Dubrovnik for a while!!. I noticed that their lunch special was very reasonable at 7.95 for a pletothora of pizza, pasta and salad dishes and a fab 12.50 per bottle for all of their wines. Ironically, we had had 2 for 1 vouchers for dinner elsewhere in Temple Bar, which actually worked out more expensive. We left La Gondola promising to return for lunch and we will.

Went here on saturday after 10 for dinner.service wasnt bad for that hour and we were sitting outside, which i was thankful of as there were quite a few hen parties inside!service was pretty slow but I feel it was because of the late hour.the main problem I had was that my meal( a pizza) came out about7 minutes before my booyfriends.the pizza was nice though. He got a rissotto which was small. Not exactly the size he wanted! there wasnt enough condiments to go around the restaurant which isnt great!but the food was nice and it is good value.would probably opt for a starter too though!

Had a quick dinner here with my boyfriend on a saturday. I had lasagne, which was much too oily. There was a layer of oil left in the dish when I was finished. Not bad for the price though and the service was good. Ideal for a quick dinner.

some of the best pizzas I have eaten outside of Italy - the base was perfect, thin and doughy. Very fresh food and efficiently served. Pretty functional atmosphere so not one for a romantic night out. Watch out for the garlic bread, it is very garlickly...

Eat here today with two friends and had a good, cheap meal. I would agree with points from both of the other reviews here. On the negative side, the seating arrangements are a bit cramped. The desire to squeeze a few more seats in means that we all had to squeeze to get in. Having said that, once we managed to sit down the table was quite comfortable. What stands out for me in this restaurant is the value for money. Large pizzas and pasta dishes (and I mean large) for 7.95 are fairly unusual in Dublin city centre these days. While the food is not of the very highest standard it is tasty, filling and definitely excellent value for money. The waiting staff were attentive without being pushy and willing to leave us alone to eat at our own pace. Overall I would recommend this for a lunch or even family meal. Cheap, cheerful and great value for money.
