The presentation of the food every time I have been to Brambles is beautiful. However the menu is not changed often enough in ,my opinion. If it was I would go more often. its like the chef has a limited repertoire of dishes and they try to change small bits of one to make it look like a new menu. Tasty though. Décor lovely.

Ok food but a bit pricey if not for the early bird and the early bird is a bit lacking on choice. Otherwise spacious restaurant and comfortable with nice staff.

My husband and I dined in Brambles restaurant last weekend. The setting is absolutely stunning with comfortable luxurious chairs, an amazing chandelier and mirrors surrounding. Plenty of parking outside too. We both ordered garlic mushrooms which were delicious and served with garlic aliol and a balsamic side salad. Not a hint of grease to be seen and beautifully presented. For mains hubby had chicken done in a cream sauce with potatoes and a sweet potato crisp. A good sized portion and he enjoyed every bite. I went for the veggie pasta, a tomato based roast veg dish which was the perfect size for hungry food lover. Two glasses of Chardonnay and two cokes finished off our meal. We are happy to recommend Brambles to anyone. Even the staff were top notch x

Visited on a Saturday evening surprised to see the restaurant half full. Having being aware of the cafe end of the chain this was our first time in the restaurant. We were greeted by friendly efficient staff and brought to our table. The bread was delicious and as my partner is allergic to nuts the waiter offered to source another type of bread. We chose garlic mushrooms stuffed with cream cheese and fiery chicken wings both excellent quality and delicious. Mains were an amazing fillet steak cooked well done as requested to perfection holding its moisture and flavour, accompanied with a side order of mushrooms and onions, the other main was duck presented on Savoy cabbage with a side order of the best lyonnaise potato's. Unfortunately the boxy that accompanied the steak although inviting was stone cold. We were brought a replacement which was very poor piping hot but a terrible flavour, not wanting to complain we left it to one side and pointed out to our excellent waiter that the rest of the food was excellent but the boxy was dreadful. We chose desserts which we were told were compliments of the house as a gesture for the returned boxy. Brambles are known for having the most amazing desserts, I dine frequently in their Jervis St outlet. I chose Pavlova which was just ok, my guest chose pannacotta which came in a small orange juice glass decorated with fruits and what we thought was a biscuit crumble which turned out to be hazelnuts. We returned the dessert and received a replacement minus the nuts. There was flavour in the pannacotta but it was solid in the small glass and had the texture of a set jelly, that aside we had an enjoyable night. The majority of the food was very good let down by a cold boxty and just ok desserts.

My go to spot for a meal which won't let you down. Staff are lovely and they are really accomodating for children. We brought our little one for a meal on a Wednesday evening and we were very impressed. Their early bird is amazing value and we will definitely be back! Rib Eye steak was gorgeous and my Chicken in a mushroom sauce was amazing. Their Desserts are great and I'd love to find out what coffee they use. Yum

What a let down. For the first time in years of going to restaurants we had to send our meals back because they were served cold. The pepper sauce had a skin on it because it was lying so long. Meals were replaced, Once again the steaks were over cooked, sauce tepid and the chips were reheats. Service wise the lady was doing her best, there was not enough staff employed. One girl serving about 30 customers, is what I call understaffed. It's a pity because the decor is nice, but if a chef cannot get steak and chips right on two attempts then it's not worth eating in. We are very easy going diners but on this occasion Brambles fell way short of the mark.

We went for the Early Bird menu on a Monday; good value. Brambles was peaceful, 3 tables occupied; both staff members were very friendly and helpful. Local restaurant, comfortable seats. We all liked the Caesar salad and freshly-baked bread with butter. Our food arrived very quickly. The pan-fried lamb's liver dish was perfect. The rib-eye steaks were good (but small); served with hand-cut potatoes which were crispy and hot, and a mushroom sauce. Brambles are known for their reliable desserts, the high point of our meal. All our desserts looked wonderful and tasted great. The cheesecake was especially good, strawberries full of flavour. The apple sponge was moist and tasty, served cold, with the warm creme anglaise poured over it; unusual on a warm day, but tasted fine. Our mother loved the Wicklow ice cream. But our order was jinxed. We asked for 'rib-eye steak with a choice of sauces'; we had to call our server back to ask about the sauces. It was no problem to leave us mid-order and go and ask what they might be. We've all had serving jobs in our time and it's so normal to expect to be asked about the current menu, or what the soup of the day is. No one knew whose order the vegetables belonged to. "I'll go and ask, no problem." We could only hope for their sake that the chef was a patient person. My sister had asked for mashed potatoes. "No problem." The mashed potatoes were forgotten, asked for - again, no problem - and finally arrived at the end of the meal when we were all ready to order dessert. The chicken penne dish had no chicken, had to be replaced, but our server reassured us that this was no problem either. Starting to relax by then, we were offered dessert menus which didn't look like the set menu choices, because they weren't. We asked and did receive the set menu ones instead; our server was very nice about the mistake. We skipped tea & coffee, feeling that they had gone to enough trouble on our behalf already. Mondays! But the food was good.

We have had late breakfast / brunch here twice recently. The breakfast is quite sizeable and pretty reasonably priced. On the plus side I have to say the potato cake with scallions that comes with the full Irish is absolutely delicious. I'd have it every day if I could! Minus for the rashers: the thick pink kind you get with every hotel breakfast (what's wrong with thin crispy and properly cooked??). All in all a nice brekkie though, hence we went back the second time. Coffee is good and I think is included in the price before 12. The decor is nice but the room can be noisy, especially if a lot of people with children. We wanted to be seated in the empty/ quiet area of the restaurant but were told we couldn't, as there was a booking for later on. We ended up sitting near the tills, outside the main restaurant area which turned out to be quite cosy.

Enjoyed a lovely evening here with my wife on Sunday evening about 5:30pm. It was not overcrowded and the furnishings, layout and smartness of the place is very warming and comfortable. We had just the two main courses and a dessert to share which were reasonably priced as expected but the wine list starts at €21+ which might take you by surpirse a bit. Nevertheless, the wine chosen was very good and at the right temperature. Our meals of roast lamb in wine jus, fresh vegetables, and lightly battered haddock, chunky chips with mashed peas were to our surprise served quite quickly but they too were excellent. After sharing the chocolate cake and ice-cream dessert, we lounged the next hour over coffee and the wine remainder, delighting in the atmosphere. A very pleasant place.

Went here with 2 friends for girlie night out. Initially we were seated sandwiched between 2 large parties. We asked to move and ended up seated at front door through which an icy wind came in every time someone came in or left. Waiter very friendly and efficient. Starters were well presented and tasty however mains were very disappointing. Pork loin was very tough pork chops and the lambs liver was overcooked and tough. We complained and were offered complimentary desserts. We finished with Irish coffees but these too were disappointing. Shame as we had heard some good reports and the decor is really nice. There are lots of good places to eat in Terenure/Rathgar so Brambles would want to talk to their chef
