I hadn't been to this restaurant in a few years so thought I would give it a try again for Easter lunch. I'm happy to say that its got the same great food and friendly service as I remember from then. Menu contains some really interesting combinations.

Fantastic friendly service. Food was genuinely up there with some of the top restaurants I've been to including some Michelin star places in term of quality and presentation, portions were also fair. It's a pity its so far out of town that not many people know about it but at least it means its not difficult to book into.

Overall good value in very nice surroundings. There was 16 of us for lunch - 3 course set menu @ €25 +10% service. There was something for everyone including coeliac and children options. Everyone enjoyed their meal - most felt it was standard but decent food. I personally loved my seared duck and would go back again for it in a heartbeat. A big 'thank you' goes to Paddy, our waiter, who was a sweetheart and kept everyone happy while under pressure.

paid a before christmas visit with my brother in law ..food was fab...service good and considering that we were dining out in a party party time of the year the value was good as in comparrasion to other similar locations in the area that we peeked at before making a final dining decision.I look forward to a return visit in 2015 this time with my family...

Had celebrated a major birthday here about three years ago when we had a lovely evening with sixteen guests. We saw recently that they had opened a new "Loft Bistro" and so decided to pay a nostalgic return visit. We arrived on time, however it was twenty five minutes before we were shown to our table. Our first course arrived without incident and we were happy with what we ordered. Our mains should have been a lamb shank, and a surf and turf, however the turf arrived without the surf and had the wrong sauce. This was pointed out to the waitress who said she would return with the prawns. After a few minutes with no prawns forthcoming we attracted the attention of the Maitre d who apologised and took it away. He did offer to take both but we assumed that the other main course would be returned promptly so we held on to the lamb. The surf and turf was returned again with the wrong sauce and was sent back again and returned a third time, this time correctly, but by this time we had both eaten the lamb and were unwilling to accept such tardy service so we told them to take it away. This was now an hour and fifteen minutes after the time we had booked the table We were told that we would not be charged for this and they told us that they would give us a voucher, for a return visit. This voucher was for twenty euro with a condition that it be used by the end of November, which we feel is an insult after such a disappointing evening. They requested that we pay for the remainder of the meal which we did, but feel in hind sight that we should not have! We have written to them to return the voucher as we have no wish to return. All in all, a very disappointing evening.

We came here for a family party and it was excellent. The food was great and the venue was perfect for a big occasion and lots of people. The staff were brilliant too so no complaints at all, I'd definitely recommend.

Bit Pricey so not a place you would pop out for a bite to eat every couple of weeks. However, for an occasion or special treat its well worth the money. Food was fantastic, service was excellent from friendly and humorous staff and the general surroundings are warm and relaxed. Will be going here for any future family get togethers / girlie catch ups / celebrations. Wonderful

I went to this restaurant for the first time this Friday. I found it on this website because I was looking for a restaurant that provides gluten free option in my area. My fiancé also has a dairy allergy. When we arrived we explained to the staff how one of us require gluten free and the other a dairy free options. Of all the restaturants we've been to in Dublin I feel the staff in Beaufield Mews have been the most considerate and respectful of our dietary requirements. It is very hard to this in Dublin, very often I find that our dietary needs are seen as awkward or not taken seriously. The food tasted amazing when it arrived, we both really enjoyed our meals. The atmosphere was also lovely, extremely warm and relaxed. The staff we lovely. We had a lovely evening and will definitely go again!

We had a lovely time in Beaufield Mews as we were celebrating our engagement where my husband proposed in the gardens 2 years ago. Arriving we had our proscecco. staff are very attentive and look after all very well. The set menu for 2 course €20 and 3 course €25 was very good value and the choice excellent. I started with goats cheese salad followed by steak which was delicious. Cooked to perfection as requested. My husband was delighted with his choice of pea soup and steak again cooked as he requested with different sauces. We sat outside afterwards for irish coffee and cappuccino. Would mention that I always enjoy sitting out in the garden but for some reason it was closed for us to sit out. It is definitely one of their best attributes as no other restaurant has such beautiful surroundings.

How the mighty have fallen. On Saturday we turned up at the Beaufield Mews as a party of eight. our bill for the night was for 6 starters, 8 mains and 6 deserts. Food €35p/h, drink €25p/h and €50 for the service. Total €528.94. It’s a lot of money for a night out and you would expect an element of value on that. The building and the grounds provided that as it has a lovely setting, but that was it. Once inside it was a different matter. As a family group we tend not to complain but halfway though the main course I felt almost like a disgruntled ogre for what was being put on the table. The menu was fine but what came out of the kitchen was insipid throughout. I had ordered a steak Araignee with peppercorn sauce. The sauce was dark in colour there was not enough to hit the plate, I asked for more and was brought out a sauce that was light in colour and oversalted (suspected packet). The vegetables that came with the steak were completely al dente. The steak itself was small, tough and had the taste of something that had been sterilised in the fridge. There were a selection of vegetables ordered (suggested by the head waiter) for the table which amounted to 5 cereal bowls of boiled veg that a 2 year old could prepare. Of the bowls the had the more relevant vegetables they had run out before they got to me (maybe I should blame my family). The 2 bowls of chips for 8 also had to be supplemented. Again my wife’s lamb was a cheap cut of lamb and I do not forgive restaurants who try to make you look like a fool. I did not hear one positive comment on the starters and two for the desserts. I could go on. One of our guests best described the restaurant as incidental to the night. I thought it was bloody awful. Had I been Gordon Ramsey I’d still be shouting

Lovely spot, and nice layout with bar/restaurant. The food however is distinctly average with a lazy menu of chicken, beef, duck and salmon etc. as well asa selection of boiled/undercooked veg as sides. Maybe with the advent of Masterchef our expectations are unreasonably high, or maybe these guys just need to move with the times and provide interesting menus with quality food (including the sides). Money is tighter these days, and when you spend €100 for meal for two you expect quality food better than golf club level. Certainly €5 for a bottle of sparkling water should be a thing of the past.

Restaurant response:
Thank you for your review. We are really disappointed you did not enjoy your meal here. I cannot gather from your review if you were here for lunch or dinner. Our lunch menus are priced at €25 per person for 4 courses and the feedback has been that it is good value for money & our dinner from our set menu starts at €20 for 2 courses. I would love if you would get in touch with me and we could talk further about your meal and find out where we went wrong. My email is info@beaufieldmews.com Looking forward to hearing from you, Kindest regards, Sarah Harding
