My partner and I seldom give poor ratings. We decided to treat ourselves to a late lunch around 2pm. The place was not busy at all. The girls at the reception were rude and unfriendly. The burgers were tasteless. And the table (across from the bar) were up to our underarms when seated. WORST eatery in the WoRLD!!!

Great food. Not much point booking through menu pages when the restaurant has now details of the booking when you arrive - despite email confirmationn

Back again. The Step Inn is always a reliable bet. 4 different menus to choose from plus roasts of the day on the blackboard. We were a big party. Everyone had starters, mains & a few desserts. Takes some beating. They sit us in the corner as we have children. Staff are pleasant and helpful. Food was great. We mainly stuck to Turkey & Ham as it was around Christmas time. They brought huge extra platter of Yorkshire puddings as my family love them. Thank you again for a great meal.

13 of us went for Sunday lunch. The place was packed and staff were up to their eyes. You could see 1 particular girl very unfriendly. Everyone else was great. The set menus were a great help for such a big gang. Food was excellent. Really lovely. Fish cakes for starters were delicious. I never eat them but they were great. Soup beautiful. Typical Christmas turkey & ham, really good. Hamburgers were a bit dry I believe but never mind. Everyone loved desserts. Great family spot & Santa thrown in was brilliant.

My partner & I have been here a few times and we've nearly always enjoyed the food. We went here again on Saturday as we live locally and it didn't disappoint. It's great value and everything is generally consistent. I would highly recommend the Chicken Wings to start & their Thai green curry as a main. For lighter meals their Ceasar Salad is excellent. The staff are all lovely and there is a decent atmosphere.

Had dinner here with my husband. We eat here quite a bit. We love their steak on a stone and their sweet potato wedges. The starter ribs are amazing. Just fall off the bone. Lovely staff. Great cocktails at a really good price. We have never had a bad meal here. There is also a restaurant which serves the same food if you wanted a less casual atmosphere.

Just had lunch there. Food and price good but the staff are terrible. The place wasn't busy but still we had to get our own menus then go back to the bar to order. About 20mins one staff member came over to ask what we wanted. The same staff member had a face on them the whole time we were there. Won't be back because staff were that bad.

A lovely welcoming atmosphere with great staff and tasty food. I have eaten here several times and I was a little disappointed to find that some of my favourites had been replaced on the menu but I tried out some of the new menu items and they were wonderful! I highly recommend this place for its cosy atmosphere, lovely food and very nice staff. The burgers are amazing and the portions are very generous. You absolutely will not be disappointed if you choose to eat here!

Came here on Sunday for a quick bite. The lounge was packed and they had no tables available except for one in the 'pub' part which was fine by us. The Step Inn does a roaring trade at weekends for food so you're not always guaranteed a table at peak times. Service is always fantastic and I think the menu offers a great selelction for pub grub. Between our party we had the fish & chips, steak on the stone and the chicken wings. All meals were delicious and service was very prompt despite how busy it was. The only thing I would fault is the prices, a bit too expensive for pub food yet techincally it is a lot better than 'pub grub'...the portions are always great sizes and the food is delicious! Perhaps if they offered more options in their set meal option?

We visited the Step Inn at about 6pm last Friday which was a big mistake, don't get me wrong the service was great-friendly and fast, the food was also good, I had the free range chicken and my husband had the taco burger and we both really enjoyed them but the place was like a creche !! We were seated right in between 2 families with whinny moany kids and over bearing parents, one of them crawled all over my jacket which was on the seat beside me. Now I'm not saying children shouldn't be in the restaurant but the staff could seat them away from diners without children.

We had booked for a Communion. We ordered from the Restaurant menu and were sat in the lounge. We were sat and the waitress did not even take a drinks order. When she did come back it was take the food order which I thought was odd we ended up going to the bar to order the drinks ourself. The fillet steak is €25 and way overpriced for sitting in a pub lounge although the portions of everyones meal were huge. The steaks come on a stone which stay piping hot and you cook your own - for €25???? If you are wearing nice clothes make sure they're covered up as the meat splashes when cooking and make sure you have no small ones near your plate as it's so hot. The food was delicious and the portions were large but presented oddly for eg. chips came in a deep fat fryer basket and my cheesecake same in a glass jar with a lid. The service was only ok. My Dad was told 3 times that they'd be back with his tea and when it arrived in a white tea pot, the spout was brown with tea stains. Nobody went away feeling empty or in any way annoyed by lunch but it was not memorable and if they intend charging so much for lounge food then they need to up their standards or reduce their prices. For this reason, I won't be rushing back
