Great little takeaway! Love this place. I've been ordering from this place for years. You can always rely on tasty well prepared food and quick and friendly service. I often order the vegetarian dishes like saag paneer and daal tarka but tonight I got the Lamb Dansak - spicy and sweet, yum yum yum. My favourite takeaway in Dublin.

This was THE WORST Indian take away that I have ever had in my life. It was verging on inedible and it was definitely not authentic Indian cuisine. We ordered a lamb rogan josh, the lamb was so tough we didn't eat it and the sauce tasted like something out of an uncle ben's jar. Chicken korma was so sweet it was disgusting. The pulao rice was just basmati with red and yellow dyed rice grains in it, it wasn't cooked with ghee and spices as done traditionally. Naan breads were tough and very burnt. The Keema Naan, usually stuffed with spiced lamb was stuffed with some tasteless red paste. 0 stars, the worst food I've ever wasted 30 euro on.

Had a take-away from here last Wednesday. You can eat in but it is very much a take-away shop with some tables. They have improved the decor recently and there are nice tablecloths etc. That is the only reason there is a low atmosphere rating. Otherwise the food is delicious and the service was much improved - very courteous. As ever there were crisp fresh poppadums while waiting - 10 mins or so due to a big order already in. It was well worth it. The food was fresh, full of flavour and every dish was distinct. We had chicken pasanda which was a far cry from the numerous bland incarnations I have had before. It was subtle, creamy, sweet and nutty. The Beef Rogan Josh was hot and slightly fruity without just burning. The Saag Paneer and the Bombay Aloo were 2 of the best I have had in Dublin. This food is not sophisticated but it is exceptionally tasty and satisfying. Am really looking forward to a return trip.

Hi, I just ordered a takeaway from Bu Ali. I ordered Chicken Bhuna, Pilau Rice and Coriander Nan. I placed my order on the phone. It was delivered quickly. It was tasty and it only cost €12.95! The staff were friendly also. I would recommend Bu Ali to anyone

I can actually remember the date I last ate here. So it's now been over two months and this is way too long. Anyway, went for the lamb bhuna and teh chicken pasanda. Both dishes were simply sublime. However, if you do order from here, you have got to try the lamb. I simply do not know how they get it so tender. Many a restaurant would do well to get near this. I have never been let down yet. Viva Bu Ali!

This place is amazing! I am not a fan of Indian food but my other half is so I have to endure it ever so often... I am now addicted to this place!! We have tried other Indian Restaurants (what can I say I am such a good girlfriend!) and nothing compares to Bu Ali - outstanding and consistently brilliant. Agree with the other comment - please open a restaurant!

Live across the road from here so get take-away quite a bit when we can't be bothered to cook at home. Have never been disappointed with the food, which is usually ready for pick-up in 15/20 minutes. The staff are really nice. Fantastic pishawari nans! Best Indian takeaway I have tried in dublin.

I've been going here for about ten years - mainly for a Friday night treat. I can honestly say it's the best Indian takeaway I've ever come across and I've been to a few! Their curries are very subtle and complex with lots of fresh herbs. That old classic Chicken Tikka Masala (CTM) is particularly good as are the onion Bhajias. They have a few tables and chairs but it's very utilitarian and not really somewhere you'd consider for a romantic meal. Far better to go the takeaway route and have you romantic meal at home.

After reading the comments on this site, I felt I had to try this place. I was not disappointed. It's nothing great to look at but the food more than makes up for this. Delicious!! I had the chicken tikka masala and a coriander naan which was the best I've ever tasted. I will definitely be going back again

We visited Bu Ali quite frequently when living in the area and were never disappointed. The staff are jovial and the take out was always very good quality meat and generous portions! Would definitely recommend as a take out option.

Definitely the best Indian in Dublin. I think it was also the first. The place has recently been renovated, but I much prefer getting take out, and eating at home. The lamb bhuna is moist and the meat is tender. The tikka masala and butter chicken are rich and creamy. I usually get the coriander nann for dipping. The mint sauce is to die for, so make sure you order some of that too.

This restaurant does have some seating but it is mostly used by people waiting for their take away food. But don't let this put you off sampling the food. I have used this as an Indian take away for more than 12 years and I really think it is the best. I am not a fan of their creamy sweet sauces such as Korma or Tikka Massala but move on to anything else and you will not be disappointed. Try the Dhansak, Aloo saag and make sure you have the Daal Tarka. Quite simply the tastiest in town. Good value too.
