Good Food Ireland is an industry driven food tourism organisation which was established in November 2006. Many good food operators in a cross-section of establishments all around the island from restaurants to accommodation, pubs to food shops to cookery schools wanted to be recognised and endorsed for their commitment to using Irish, local and artisan food produce. They wanted to share experiences and be cooperatively marketed to the domestic and international tourist. Agriculture and Tourism, two vital economies for Ireland have so much in common and are yet so far apart. Through Good Food Ireland the industry from both these sectors share a common belief and come together as one. Good Food Ireland brings you the visitor or domestic consumer what we believe is the only way to get a true taste of Ireland. Every year, the Bridgestone editors set out to find those restaurants that offer the best cooking and the best service in Ireland. This book features grand city restaurants, and tiny little one-room restaurants in the wilds of the country. There are restaurants located on islands, and restaurants that reverberate with the energy and mania of the city.

Popped in for a bite last week. While we'd no trouble in getting a table, the staff were exceptionally slow to attend to us and also a lot of other customers which was very strange particularly as they weren't too busy. When we did eventually get attended to, our waiter (possible manager) was very courteous and pleasant. He even gave us an extra large piece of Carrot Cake which went down a treat.

Had a very enjoyable experience in this restaurant. We went in for a coffee at a very busy time. They did not have any issue about the fact that we were spending little - yet using up a table at a busy time. Coffee was fabulous. My friend had some unusual tea which she found great. If I was to have any issue - it is that now days most coffee shops give a complimentary tiny biscuit with the tea and coffee - this was not available here. Now this is a very small thing but would be very easy to rectify. Service was great, efficient and friendly. Value for money was great. We will be back.

Went here on Sunday for Brunch with three friends. Weather was great so we sat outside. Service was excellent and the food was really good.

Last week we visited ITSA4 with our two young children and found the whole experience very disappointing. We waited an eternity for our food and the children got impatient - which in turn irritated the maitre d' (as in other reviews she does not seem happy at the best of times). The menu is a disappointment and we left four disappointed local customers vowing not to return. This restaurant has huge potential and Domini Kemp needs to take a grip on it and make the changes necessary so that it produces the food that we read about in the Irish Times weekly. PS - the kids food was lovely.

I'm a big fan of Domini Kemp and her weekly column in the Irish Times, so I was glad to finally try this place. I could not have been more disappointed though - the food was bland beyond belief. The White Bean and Truffle Soup was, well, generally tasteless with barely any truffle oil in it and was even slightly bitter. The Asian Chicken Salad was, well, boringly bland and the side of limp, faded Asparagus in Anchovy Butter even worse. The by-the-glass wine menu is shockingly disappointing with bottom-of-the-barrel offerings of cheap supermarket labels. Service was nice and friendly, but my God this place has some serious work to do.

Having completed a 2 hour walk from Sandymount Green to the lighthouse and back this afternoon I was more than ready for a late lunch when my walking partner suggested Itsa4. I jumped on the idea as I'm a fan of Domini Kemp and had never tried Itsa4. We were told it was a 10 minute wait for a table which we quickly agreed to and rested our tired legs on the lovely chairs at the door. I was a little surprised when a quick trip to the bathroom revealed at least 3 empty tables. As time passed by the two waitresses ambled around the restaurant slowing cleaning tables, chatted and generally ignored us. When we were eventually seated, the same waitress proceeded to clean the table next to us by spraying copious amounts of some type of cleaner onto the table. Tiny droplets of the cleaning fluid wafted in our direction - we both started to sneeze. Lunch was tasty I think (difficult to tell when you have inhaled cleaning fluid) but I wouldn't go back. I'd recommend the walk to the lighthouse though - Dublin Bay sparkled and the view back to the Dublin mountains was pretty beyond belief!

Myself and two friends went for dinner on Wed evening. It was quiet but I suppose most places are. The service was good with friendly staff but the food was mediocre. We had the early bird which was €20 for starter and main. Ham hock salad starter was tasty but the choices were limited. There were only 4 choices for the main and I picked the burger which was dry and boring served with greasy, soggy chips. Not a bad experience but not what I expect from Itsa4 as I've been before and it's been much better

Visited here last sunday afternoon, cold and starving after a match in the landsdowne stadium. Two of us got exactly what we wanted with no undue fuss. I had the special, which was the steak and my girlfriend the burger. Both were delicious and I'd happily return.

Please bring back the old Chef and the waiters!!!!! Went there recently and the food is different, ingredients are definitely not of the same quality or maybe this is due to the cooking...not as tasty and honest as before- This last visit left me confused....The crab salad tasted of orange juice (not of a nice citrus flavour) and the maitre D....if i can call her like this was rude. Not rushing back....:-(

The food was nice but the starter portions left a little to be desired. I had the prawns to start. I was really disppointed when 4 tiny prawns came out on the plate. I don't expect loads of prawns but these were tiny frozen prawns. The mains were very nice. We had Cod on crab risotto which was very tasty and rigatoni with roast squash and spinach in a parmesan and cream sauce. The pasta was gorgeous. The atmosphere wasn't great but it was a Tuesday night so that's not the fault of the restaurant. The service was prompt and very friendly.

was there with some friends after the cricket match between oz and Ireland, needed some food after all those beers. My friend booked this restraunt as he loves his steaks and said this place was a great spot. We both had steaks with fries and a bottle of bordeaux. Steaks were ok, I asked for mine medium to rare and I recieved it rare which I was not too happy about but my friend recieved his steak to perfection. Was waiting an extra half an hour for my steak to arrive the second time. There was no apology either. Wine very nice. Staff ok, could be a bit more efficient as we were waiting half an hour also for our bill to arrive. atmosphere could be improved. Food a little over priced for what you get. Would not go back unfortunetely. Jeanseb Dublin.

Itsa virtually impossible to leave itsa4 feeling well fed for under €45 (two people, one course each - one burger/one steak frites). While the food is reasonably tasty, the portions are miserable when compared to its competitors closer to the south Dublin city centre. The fries are served in a dish which should hold sauce. The Sunday brunch is a very pleasant experience. However, dinner is poor value. Steak frites (all six of them) will set you back €20. Factor in the (necessary) visit to the chipper en route home, and you're hitting €30. I really wanted it to be good but with a sundae running at €8.50, there was no cherry on top. In the times we're in, value is more important than ever before. Unfortunately, itsa let down.

Dropped in without booking for lunch last Sunday. They were full so asked to come back in 20mins - no problem. Table ready when came back but service thereafter took a nosedive. The place thinned out as it approached 2.30 but still no sign of the food, 40mins after arriving......Food is ok but not good enough to compensate for the waiting around. No apology either.

We have been to Itsa4 for lunch a couple of times and it has always been quite tasty and pleasant- if a little pricey. After some good news we were keen to go and celebrate and decided in the spirit of local enterprise to keep it in the neighbourhood. Itsa4 were offering a special for ¤25 a starter, main and glass of wine. The problem was the menu was catering for jack sprat and his rotund wife in reverse roles. The MENu offered chiken wings(with a taste of fish?!), bangers and mash, burgers(seemed a bit pre-cooked and overdone) and chips The woMenu offered fruit and leaves in the delicate form of a beetroot, rocket and pear salad- hardly a calorie in-sight, followed by a size zero filling salmon fillet on a bed of sliced veg. I was celebrating, not publicly dieting. I appreciate the effort to cater for people trying to watch their waists but if I wanted to burn off the food as I ate it I'd have stayed home and had porridge and cucumber. As the weekend went on we realised we actually were not happy after all. A lot of euros for a not very treaty treat. As a good friend coined the place- it's a 4tune!

I loved itsabagel so was excited about trying this place. The decor is lovely, its cosy and perfect for a weekend brunch. I had eggs benedict, its was lovely. My partner had an irish breakfast, he was happy enough but didnt think it was anything to write home about. Coffee was lovely. Staff were very friendly but a little slow, perhaps due to the busy day that was in it.
