I normally live Browns but I haven't been in a while and had a very dissappointing brunch on Sunday. I ordered poached eggs with sausage, but when the eggs came they were cooked through. So after a good few minutes of trying to get a waitresses attention I sent them back. When they returned the eggs were perfect, but sadly the sausages had obviously been left on the hot plate and had shrivelled up to dry over cooked rocks. Nobody checked back about the eggs or picked up on the fact the I hadn't touched the sausages. To be honest I would have been better off cooking at home. It wasn't anything like what I'd expect from a professional kitchen and very very basic.

Thank you so much to all the staff in Brownes. I was there on Monday for a brunch with friends when my 18 month old decided to ruin everyone's lunch by vomiting all over herself, me and a good part of the restaurant. (She had'nt eatten in the restaurant!!) The staff were so kind considering the situation and cleaned up very quickly while I made a b-line for the door. Thank you so much for not making it any more awkward then it could have been.

I really love this place. I come here whenever i visit my girlfriends family who live in Sandymount. Whether we are just popping in for a quick coffee or having a full meal the quality is always superb. Credit to the staff also, they are always super polite and attentive.

I love this place. The food was fantastic, despite it being busy we didn't have a long wait at all. The service was great, the food was superb and it was all reasonable priced! Ill be popping in again soon for sure!

I have been going to Brownes for over 10 years as it was close to my family home. I still visit when ever I'm in the area and it never fails to serve the best coffee in Dublin and at night the nicest french onion soup.

Brownes has lost its appeal. It was really nice homemade food a few years ago but it now seems like its chasing the euro with bigger premises. Plain food and an unchanged boring menu. If you are going to be basic about it, you need to have quality ingredients and must be flavoursome, none of which were present on our latest visit. Sad to say we won't be back.

Perfect for Eggs Benedict, breakfast and coffee! Not sure what is going on with the evening menu but the French menu was delicious!

Very disappointing. I ordered the goats cheese, beetroot and butternut salad with cranberry. No butternut, no cranberry. Service was very slow even though the restaurant was almost empty.

We love the atmosphere of this place and have returned a few times but only for lunch. The food is good not great and the service can be hit or miss. One of the staff members is quite rude and unfriendly but most of the others are great.

Original booking made in good faith for cafe and deli. When I got the confirmation there was no mention of the brasserie. Overall, the lunch was fine.

Myself and a girl friend had dinner yesterday evening in Brownes Deli and Cafe, we were informed of the special deal which consists of a starter, main course and a glass of wine. The food was excellent (but a sur charge does apply to a number of main course dishes) so we paid €25 for our deal (incl. the glass of wine). My only problem with the deal was the wine - it came in the smallest glass I have seen in a long time and it was discusting. The food was excellent but the wine was very poor which I think is very uncesessary. I would definately return for the food and would choose a different wine - as the saying goes 'if it seems too good to be true, it probably is'

A group of 11 of us visited the Bistro last Sunday evening for an 89th birthday celebration and you can be sure we wont be back for another. Firstly the wine list is out of date, there are several wines on it that they doesn't stock anymore.. Secondly they didn't have some of the dishes on the menu left and only had a few left of some others but annoying part here was that they proceeded to tell those of us that arrived first all this detail about how many was left of each dish and it was a bit too much too be honest as we were lost half way through what they were saying. The offer is 20 euro for starter , main and a glass of wine/mineral. Which sounds good if you are lucky to find dishes that they have not yet sold out of and have no supplement on them. Its the most confusing menu Ive ever seen. If they are going to go down that route they should increase it by couple of euro and remove all the supplements. they should only be on a steak. The BYO sounds great until you see the ten euro corkage, but what they forget to add to the menu is that the BYO and corkage deal also applies to birthday cakes. Yes Birthday cakes for 89 year old's with a group of 11 people (ie they had made his money off us already). They wanted a tenor to cut and plate the cake! So on principal we were not paying it and said we would just present the cake - this was free YIPEE! Service is marked as 0 as most of the mains were cold as the plates were not warm and the cake was immediately removed from the table by the waitress after we took some photos, so we couldn't cut it ourselves I'm guessing?... Anyway needless to we wont be back....
