Fantastic restaurant, atmosphere electric and food of the highest quality cooked straight in front of you. The chef's skills in his chopping of the meat to his side show of juggling especially with his bowls and eggs are brilliant. will i return as soon as possible.

I have been to Tippenyaki so many times and is consistently good. Food is delicious and portions are enormous. Excellent value for money and brilliant to go in a group, great night guaranteed. Staff are brilliant, funny, entertaining and so polite. Last time I went I organised a friend's hen and 10 of us went, 8 of whom hadnt been before. All of them adored the night and most have gone back again since. Same thing happened at a Xmas night I organised and again everyone loved it. If you want good food, good value and a great atmosphere (and serious kudos from friends as they're guaranteed to have a great night at the weekend!) then head to Tippenyaki

Had a quick Friday evening meal before the cinema. service was pleasant, but kitchen forgot our order. the food was lovely when it arrived but I o think its overpriced for what it is. We didn't sit at the centre table as we had seen the chef show before. its entertaining as a one off, but this time I found it noisy and smoky. the radio/music was really loud and a bit tacky... its an odd place really... somewhere between a café and a restaurant, but with restaurant prices.

we were here for a going away party there was about 20 in our group, we were seated straight away the service was extremely good and personal they were all so friendly they cook the food on a hot plate in front of you and the skill involved is breathtaking food flying all over the place, my food was delicious and even my vegetarian sister was well looked after deserts weren't up to much but i didn't have much room to fit it anyway. after food the chef took out a guitar and sang fame followed by leaving on a jet plant super entertaining. i look forward to my next visit

When you go to Tippenyaki don't expect just a dinner, be prepared for a show - the chefs provide all the entertainment. The main hall of this restaurant has seats arranged in a U shape and the chefs are in the middle of that area, cooking literally on your table! They play with knives, eggs, fire - everything they can lay their hands on - and they’re as skilled as any circus performer. They will juggle an egg before breaking it by catching the egg on the tip of their knife. They will arrange your fried rice into a heart shape and make it look like it’s beating on the oven top. And they will even create cute little animals out of your dish’s various ingredients and play around with them while the food is being cooked... It is a Japanese restaurant, and it has a nice selection of sushi, but you’ll be better off ordering something grilled. The reason is that the sushi are prepared in the kitchen and come to your table already cooked. But the other (hot) dishes are done in front you and, trust me, you don’t want to miss that show! Tippenyaki is a really excellent place to go with your friends and have great fun watching the chefs’ amazing performance as they cook the food in front of your eyes (by the way, the food tastes great too!).

This was my second visit to tippenyaki and my date's first visit. I knew what to expect but she was in awe of the show the chefs put on while cooking the food. We both got the samurai tippenyaki grill and it was just as amazing as the first time i got it. Fresh chicken and my steak was cooked to perfection. Will definitely be back again and reccommend to anyone. Some of the best food I've eaten and brilliant value for money.

I booked with a menu pages voucher for four girls over a month ago. My mother was visiting me at the time and we had the most amazing dinner show ever! From the very first minute we walked into the restaurant we were welcomed by a very nice gentlemen who wanted to know our names. We were seated at the chef’s table and given menu cards which were explained to us carefully. We ordered a combination platter of sushi and sashimi as a starter accompanied by a delicious white house wine. The Sushi was freshly prepared and very tasty. We ordered duck, steak and salmon as main courses with egg & vegetable fried rice which were all prepared in front of us. The chef did lots of funny tricks with the spoons, knives and fresh eggs! He also let me have a go which was so much fun :) The waiter decided to surprise my mother and came to me whispering that after the dinner he would come out with a piece of cake and pretend as it was my mum’s Birthday. At the end of our dinner the entire kitchen staff and waiters came out playing the guitars, tambourines and singing Happy Birthday to my mother! After that they sang “Proud Mary” by Tina Turner. There was lots of fun, singing and happiness in the air :)) We had the best dinner and entertainment ever! I’d like to thank the whole team for making our evening memorable. I’d definitely recommend this place to everyone and will be back again soon !

As I had been to a similar restaurant in Baggot Street, I knew that the combination of Japanese cooking and the spectacular performances of the chefs made for a very enjoyable experience, but Tippenyaki in Rathmines exceeded my expectations and left both myself and my wife exhilerated by a great night out. The food was superb, as was the wine and the service, but the icing on the cake was the wonderful entertainment - from the chefs to the serving staff, all seemed to be talented well beyond any reasonable expectation, and above all their obvious delight in pleasing customers meant there was a great buzz of enjoyment in the restaurant throughout the evening. I fully agree with a comment left by an earlier reviewer - the only way I could see a return visit for us (guarenteed!) being any better would be if we brought along some other people to be delighted by what is a distinctive and delightful destination!
