Had lunch/ brunch here with himself a few times recently. Last time had a chicken pasta. It was quite nice, perhaps a tiny bit bland, needed seasoning. That is not the end of the world, as it is easier to add salt than to remove excess. The service is quite friendly but it is a busy pub and sometimes you may have to wait a bit. Bonus points for the fact that even if the pub is often busy and almost full it is built in way that it doesn't become unbearably noisy. The burgers look great so that is what I will try next time! They have a good few carvery options in the weekend too. All in all, reasonable nice place, recommended for a nice weekend lunch albeit not really a life changing gourmet experience. Will return for sure.

I have been here a number of times for lunch during the week. I found it by chance one day and now everyone in the office knows about it and goes regularly. Food is always great whether you want a sandwich or wap or a proper dinner its always consistent. I would recommend the cajun chicken pasta or the chicken curry if you fancy something nice.. they are both very tasty.

Great bar food, nice atmosphere. Lunch here is always fulfilling, they have a nice wine list, and you can buy their wines in their Wine Shop. My Dad loves to have a bite and watch a match afterwards. Efficient staff make a great addition.

I'm somewhat of a regular here.. Comans is great for bar food!! The staff are always helpful, you can alter the dishes on the menu and order items not on the menu. Definately my favourite place to go for bar food.

It was snowing outside and my family and I ducked into comans for a warm, light lunch. This however is not what we got. We got great service, a fantastic menu with loads to choose from including a kids menu. The kids were welcomed (all 3 of them!!). The staff were very friendly and brought the kids stuff first which I love, because it keeps them quiet. My husband had the stir fry which he thought was very tasty and I had the goats cheese which was divine. Hats off to comans, they are offering good value meals in a relaxed atmosphere. I will be back.....

Really nice pub food. Popped in with a colleague and thoroughly enjoyed the food, had a glass of beer. Good value and nice surroundings. Nice places in Rathgar!

I went to Comans with my parents to watch a match and have a meal. The football had drawn a real crowd and my dad was in his element. Food was average..a steak sent back to the kitchen and a teriyaki chicken salad which was nice but nothing special. The chiken wings were a success. The main bonus to eating here is the offlicence which is attatched. You buy your wine and then the corkage is 7 euros...leaving you with a pretty nice bottle of wine for 15euros...The only downside is that if your not sport mad you need to remind yourself that you are in a pub and there will be people shouting at the many tv screens. A nice relaxing place to eat

the food is only O.K- i have eaten here a couple of times, mostly for convenience as its nearby. the only dish i would recommend is the steak, everything else is very bland pub grub, not done very well. there is a good wine selection available by the glass and the cheese board is good. the staff are very fast and attentive but seating is crammed together and not very comfortable. overall good for a something simple but not the best pub food in this area.

Simple food done well at a reasonable price. I really like Comans. It always has a good athmosphere and is always bsuy which is a good sign. The staff are friendly also and make sure that you are happy with everything. I would defo recommend Coman if you like simple and traditional Irish food cooked well.

i have no complaints about comans. iv been tthere countless times over the past few years. the food is excellent!!!!! the atmosphere is lively . the service is great , very friendly and helpful.but obviously you cant expect very fast service when there is rugby on tv as the place is jammed!!! child friendly!! the quessidillas are my favourite.the bacon pasta is very good too, my partner is a big fan of the beef and guinness pie. although i do miss the pesto and courgette pasta! the only thing i perhaps wouldnt reccomend is the evening time special. chef needs to come up with something better than left over roast! the food is great value for money but the drinks are a bit pricey. this wouldnt put me off drinking there thought as i feel very well looked after each time.!!

If you enjoy the smell of carvery and age, go here. If you dont, go elsewhere!! Dropped in here when out for a Sunday walk and only for the fact that my kids were moaning that they were tired, I would have gone elsewhere. We ordered them kids pasta dishes, which really were miniscule. I don't get Rathgar, it has the name of being posh but really its the most boring place on earth and Comans is the cornerstone of it.

I’ve always enjoyed the food in comans and service was always grate but the past few times ive been there I feel as if the waitress just throws my dinner at me I did have to make a complaint and a manager was sent to our table, I felt he didn’t even care or maybe he just didn’t understand what we were talking about, we were not impressed. The only reason I would go back to comans is for the food as it is good quality pub grub and value for money But if the service does not improve it won’t be long before they lose a lot of customers.

Have been here a few times before but just to have a drink before heading to one of the other local resturants. I'd seen the menu and liked the look of it and came back this time to try out the food. Well I wasn't disappointed. The food was really good. Tasty and plentiful. Two main courses for the grand total of €22.90. We were just too full for dessert.
