Mario's in Ranelagh is advertised as a family friendly restaurant. However they have forgotten one vital thing - a high chair! Even the most basic cafe in Dublin provides a high chair. Not a high expense for the owners but so essential when a family is choosing a restaurant.

I had a wonderful lunch here on Saturday with my partner. The waiters were very friendly, kind, efficient and helpful. The food was tasty (not high end Italian but still enjoyable) and I loved my thin base pizzza. The wine was good value (which is becoming rare in Dublin) and toilets were bright and clean ! Overall very enjoyable spot for lunch and not expensive at all. I'll be back !

Food ok. Service poor and ignorant at times. Nice layout. A little dark. A small bit on the expensive side

Nice atmosphere, and good spacious dinning room. Good service and good value off peak menu. Had calamari in chilli batter to start, which came with a hefty dollop of garlic and lemon mayo and salad, part of which was brown. Calamari was nicely cooked and well seasoned, but I couldn't taste the chilli in the batter, Pizza was just ok, and the pasta also just passable. Deserts were good, ice cream, and Tiramisu. Coffee was overpriced, €2.75 for a simple (not particularly great) black coffee, and over €3 for an espresso. Avoid if you like real Italian food.

Recently vistied Marios for the first time in a few years, and was delgihted to find that nothing has changed. This is a place that we visited regularlly as a family when i wsa younger. Staff are warm, friendly and poliet. Atmospher is casual and easy going. Food is amazingly nice! my one complaint is that it is slightly pricey, but then again food is good qualit i would 100% recommend a visit to Marios and its suitable for all the family!

Myself and my gf were looking for a cheap meal on a Sunday evening and chose marios. The restaurant was quite busy, laid out well, nice for a date, bit dark in places, and I´m not sure if the staff are up to it, we were waiting quite a while for service, maybe we were forgotten about. In relation to the food, it was grand, the pizza was average and the chicken dish my gf had she said was ok, so for the food we had at the price wasn't too bad for ranelagh although whether ill return with the competition it has Im not sure.

worst service I have ever experienced in any restaurant.. Food was only average. Do not waste your time and money going here. Plenty of much better restaurants in the area. Staff have no interest in the customet

You can tell this is a well-established restaurant and not just a trendy new place popping up in Ranelagh, just to close its doors months later. The atmosphere is so pleasant, perfect for a romantic date or a business dinner. Quiet but dynamic, fantastic taste in decoration and furniture. The staff is highly trained and the food is absolutely fantastic. Highly recommend it.

Went here yesterday for a quite bite to eat. Any restaurant that has people waiting on a Sunday evening must be worth the wait. It certainly was, the pizzas are amazing and really really good value. One waitress was lovely and pleasant and extremely efficient. The other waitress seemed like we were disturbing her. Other than that a lovely charming restaurant that is excellent value for a bite to eat.

There were 3 menus, a 3 course Xmas menu for €25.95 which 2 of us dined from, a lunch menu which one dined from & an a la carte menu. I had prawns in a spicy tomato sauce with scallions to start from. It was very nice & unusual though I didn't eat all the sauce since it was too spicy & I like spicy food. Companions had breadcrumbed & mozzarella respectively. Both enjoyed it. I had salmon with caper and dill in a sauce which was very tasty and I had a plentiful serving. I was a bit worried since I don't like capers and am not a big fan of dill but I didn't want to pay the prices on the a la carte menu. I needn't have worried, it was delicious though rosemary potatoes were a bit dry. After the brie my sister went for a chicken dish with gorgonzola, sundried tomatoes and bacon with chips from the Xmas menu. She really enjoyed it. My other companion has a steak sandwich withy chips from the lunch menu. She loved it. I went for tiramisu, it was delicious. My sister was allowed go for tea instead of desert but the waiter thoughtfully gave us 3 dessert spoons so the other 2 shared my delicious dessert. Waiter was nice, service was professionally but more than a tad slow. I would recommend this restaurant.
