I've been stopping by Gammell's for years and have always found it a friendly place with beautiful cakes and lunches. The cupcakes are a favourite, amaaazing buttercream icing and they've started to do red velvet, which you never see on sale in Dublin!

I had high hopes for this small and quaint eatery. I went in for lunch and i was very disappointed. There were 2 of us eating-they forgot half of my friends order and my reheated lasagne was over-heated and the edges had turned hard and chewy. In addition the service was slow and I was over-charged! won't be going back.

The cafe is quite small and it has a nice homely feel to it. The food was good. Chicken salad sandwich was very very nice. Huge pots of tea which are always a good sign - another thing that makes the place feel like home! The bakery products look amazing, it is very hard to make your mind up wiht such a vast choice! The staff were friendly although they did forget a part of our order which is unusual when they have very few tables to serve. They also forgot to offer the discount that applied to the combination of food we ordered. I would definitely recommend this cafe for a tasty low cost lunch or for a delicious snack.
