Fantastic meal for 4 in Antica last night. Fresh Mussels and fresh clams/squid/prawns in pasta cooked and seasoned to perfection. Excellent service, genuine hospitality and great value.

Visited for a birthday celebration on a voucher deal. The restaurant is impressive and feels homely, the staff are very pleasant we immediately liked it. We chose Bruchetta delicious homemade bread topped with tomato garlic and olive oil, shared an antipasto a selection of Parma ham, salami, mortadella, roast peppers, olives, parmigiana served on a lovely wooden board. Mains were a pepperoni pizza just slightly over cooked, pasta carbonara, sea food risotto alla Veneziana which was a bit dry. A lovely meal and we'd go back

The service here is disgraceful. My mother bought some living social vouchers and brought some friends to this restaurant who were visiting from America. Now, we had 2 tables of 8 and 4 vouchers, when we phoned the restaurant to book the tables, they said it would be fine for us to use 2 per table. When we got to the restaurant, the servers got very angry and were telling us they never said such a thing. When my mother suggested they not yell in front of everyone and move to somewhere in the back, they refused to listen. We even offered to split into 4 tables of 4 as the restaurant was completely empty. The food was okay, nothing special, and very pricey for the small portions. In the end, we were forced to pay an extra 90 euro because they would not let us use the extra vouchers. Will not be eating here again. Completely unprofessional establishment.

Enjoyed a nice meal here with my wife on Sunday evening, restaurant was quiet but was filling up later. We had calamari to start which was cooked beautifully, I had chicken for main course which had generous helping of a very nice sauce. I recommend the chips as a side order too. Overall very nice.

Dined here with a friend. She choose the calamari for starters which she enjoys wherever she goes, here where it was served with garlic mayo was no exception. We were served two pieces of garlic bread before the meal which was a nice touch, I saved mine for my starter of spicy prawns. Now I like spicy but I found myself spluttering with the hotness of the accompanying chilli sauce and poking around it just to choose the prawns which is all I really ate. I didn't really enjoy the dish but that's just personal taste. For mains my friend choose lasagne which she enjoyed and I chose the chicken with pancetta and wild mushrooms in a cream sauce which was very tasty. For a side I chose rosemary potatoes. My friends pasta dish was one of the few that came with a side so I was disappointed when she chose the garlic potatoes instead of a salad to complement my side since we tend to share our sides. We both were even more disappointed to find there was very little difference between the 2 potato dishes. Mine was dry with a few specks of rosemary, hers was the same dry slices of potatoes with a hint of garlic. There was no sauce and cheese as you would expect with garlic potatoes though out of the two offerings, we both preferred this one. Neither of us had dessert, we finished off with a beverage. After asking for the bill we waited an eternity before we had to quickly stop a rushing waitress and ask again otherwise the service was pleasant & efficient.

Really great meal with 5 other guests. Restaurant was busy, but service didn't suffer at all. Ordered off the early bird menu, but everyone was delighted with their meal. Thank You!

Enjoyed the meal, the food was excellent but was a bit disappointed with the pace and quality of the service from the staff. I guess it is a busy week though and I think they had a big party to cater for also. Value wise if you exclude the pizza and pasta it was expensive, no side option included with an already high priced main course and all servings were small. I'll return but I think on an early bird only.

We visited here last month, and must say that all in all the experience was decidedly average. We were using a menupages voucher so it was relatively good value, but we would have been less happy if we'd been paying full price - it's quite expensive for what it is (which admittedly is par for the course in Ranelagh). Starters were the stuffed mushrooms and bruschetta - both of which are quite pricey if paying full whack - and while they were adequate neither set the world on fire. Mains were lasagna and ... well, I can't remember my own one, which kind of says it all. Desserts too were alright rather than anything special. Two nice glasses of wine were also served. Service was grand - efficient and friendly - but there weren't very many others there so atmosphere was somewhat lacking. There was nothing in particular to moan about or anything, but we wouldn't be rushing back.

Very disappointing! A, group of 4 of us came her on Saturday night based on the wonderful reviews here. Table was booked for 7pm, busy night in Ranelagh, the downstairs was full so we were seated upstairs. The decor is very dated. We were given plastic covered menus to look over. The waiter didn't come back for ages, so we ordered drinks and food at the same time. I asked were the pizza thin crust which I was assured they were, turned out they are more doughy than I would have liked. The wine came out along with a sad plate of garlic bread for the table. The food was ok but very low quality, pizza for me,good size prawns though, the others got the carbonara which looked uninteresting, the chicken wasn't too bad and the risotto which was basically just normal rice. We called back the waiter as the pepper grinder wasn't working. He initially didn't believe us until he himself tried and so replaced it.. not a good impression! The service was very slow, it took them ages to take the plates and it was a good half an hour before they checked back about dessert. The bill came to about €100 for 4 people which isn't bad but given the low quality of the food and the service its about right. Plenty nicer Italian restaurants in Ranelagh unfortunately so I wouldn't be back.

I came here on Friday night on a Menupages deal. It was my third visit and again I was not disappointed. The place was buzzing so there was a great Friday night atmosphere. The decor is lovely with paintings of Venice everywhere and Italian music playing - truly feels like you are on holidays. The menu is very traditional but with enough variation to keep everyone happy. I opted for the thai prawns to start - prawns were fresh and cooked to perfection, and portion just the right size. I then had a chicken pesto dish which was divine, and a lovely boozy tiramisu for dessert. Everything down to the free glass of wine was superb. It's somewhere I hope to return to again and again - deal or no deal!

Excellent little Italian restaurant - well deserving of all the five star reviews on Manupages. I purchased the Menupages deal and went to Antica Venezia for the first time a couple of weeks ago with three others. From the word go, the staff were excellent - very attentive, friendly and efficient, but not at all intrusive. The menu though fairly small, has all of the Italian classics on it and each and every plate of food we received was delicious. The wine list is very good and priced fairly, We ordered the Gavi which was excellent. Although my voucher was for two starters, two mains etc, when the bill arrived, they had taken the two more expensive main courses against the voucher which was very generous. All four of us aggreed that we will definitely return here for decent Italian food in a charming atmosphere.
