We as it is my local I was back again. The seafood and steaks were excellent, the service was casual friendly and efficient and the wine list has changed for the better and we washed down our delicious meal with a nicely chilled bottle of Sauvignon Blanc at a very reasonable (for Dublin) €32 ! I'll be back again for sure !

I had the most beautiful experience in Ember last night. There was a great buzz and the atmosphere was amazing which I was surprised with as it was a Tuesday night. The food was delicious. I went for the Salmon and the Chicken which were both cooked perfectly and presented beautifully. The service was exceptional, very welcoming and attentive. I will definitely be recommending this to all my friends and looking forward to returning very soon.

First the Positive: Can’t fault the food at Ember. It was extremely good and worth every penny. The chef is clearly very talented and the food came out quickly and beautifully presented. Our only comment is that the potatoes were genuinely under cooked on both the fillet steak and monkfish dishes and the squid risotto (which was delicious) really needs to be served with a spoon. The Not so Positive: The front of house however is currently a bit shambolic. We anticipated the staff might still be finding their feet on the second Saturday after opening and we may have to wait a while for our table, but it took 40 minutes to be seated which meant we weren’t eating till after 10:15pm. While waiting we asked for some bread that never came and were offered complimentary drinks which then later appeared on the bill. During the meal we had to reorder wine that never reached us and nobody checked back on our food while we were eating. The restaurant has lots of potential and I could tell the staff were individually all very good, but in the short term at least the restaurant needs a host / maitre d’ to oversee everything. They need someone to make sure the tables are being turned at the correct time, knows which bookings are still to arrive and managing the situation when things are running behind schedule. It’s too much to ask this of the wait staff. Also the staff really should be given sections in the restaurant so the floor staff are responsible for set tables and know where everyone is at. So overall, despite the fab food and lovely staff, the disorder made for a disappointing experience.

Fantastic opening night in Ember. As neighbours my partner and I decided to book in for opening night and what a treat ! The restaurant looks amazing, the staff were friendly efficient and knowledgeable and the food was excellent. Given that this was opening night I thought the whole team there did an amazing job. We will definitely be back and Ember is a huge addition for Milltown !
