Very disappointing, stuffy service. Terrible desserts. Not very exciting food, overpriced wine which was bad and nowhere near as good as other fine dining restaurants in Ireland

We were here for a First Holy Communion lunch - had 26 guests in our party. The service was incredible - the staff really couldn't do enough for us - they set us up around 3 x tables - and all the children sat at one. This suited everybody and worked really well. The food service was superb - food served promptly - at the right temperature and no request was refused. The staff managed the 'cake' that we brought in - and sliced it - and provided plates, and carry out packages too for those that wanted to take cake away. The food itself was really good - superb quality and whilst the menu was a simple one - it suited our party. We had from aged 2 to 90 so by keeping it simply (at our request) there was something for everybody. If I had a fault - it was only a small one - the staff could probably have sold more wine on the day - some of my guests had to ask once or twice for their glasses to be refreshed - but to be fair - they made up for it later. Well done to all at PJ's restaurant - and we will hopefully be back for the confirmation. p.s. the kids were also allowed go for a swim - which broke up the afternoon for them - and they were delighted.

We just had breakfast here,we were guests in hotel.and i had read good reviews on the breakfast. We were seated at a lovely seat, sofa style on one side, private but still very much part of restaurant. We ordered tea coffee and toast, which was brought promptly. They had such an array of food on offer, beautiful fruit, with differnt seeds to top it with, very tasty,i had pineapple and grapes. Hot food was grease and fat free,i had bacon, sausages, tomato white pudding, and something i never have out, scrambled egg,as i am very fussy, but it looked just the way i liked it,andwas lovely. I couldnt leave without trying pastries,so i had a danish, and a lovely muffin,NO i am not a large lady, size 10,but food here was lovely. I have since heard about their sunday lunch and hope i make it back here sometime for it.

I went here for a lovely Sunday brunch. I really enjoyed it being a buffé and I was able to taste many different things. The food choices were very good. I like the way it was set up so you get your starter, soup, main and dessert with coffee. We went there for a special occasion and the manager was aware of it and we were well looked after. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a nice treat on a Sunday.

WOW!..Pj's restaurant is the perfect culinary experience. My wife and l dined there on Saturday night and from the moment we crossed the threshold in to the beautiful dinning room and whisked to our seats,it was just the perfect evening. The food was impeccable and having eaten in some of the better restuarants in Dublin and some of the top cities in the world, this was up there with them. The service was fantastic and the staff were so knowledgeable, guiding us through the excellent menu and answering any questions we had on any one of the many dishes on offer. l had the fillet steak rossini, which was cooked to perfection, while my wife had the seabass, which she said simply melted in her mouth. From the decor, too the staff and of course the mouth watering food, this was just excellent and great value may l add. We both can not wait to return for another splendid evening. Without doubt the recommendation for 2009.Enjoy!

As a regular client of this hotel, I was very disappointed in a lunch there this week. Our company (as hosts) had booked a private room in PJ's and had agreed on a set menu. At the time of booking, I was horrified to see a supplement of €4 for Turkey & (at the time) Ham - surely this should be standard on a Christmas Menu? - which was already €35 per head. Unusually, service was very poor - we had to go to find someone to see why our guests were kept waiting for 20 minutes having ordered starters - bearing in mind that the choice was limited to two on the set menu. The split between the main courses (fish or turkey) was relatively even among the guests, but again service was quite slow and my fish and accompanying mash was frankly cold. I was unable to taste the vegetables, as the mixed selection included mushrooms, to which I am allergic - this in spite of the fact that the hotel had been advised of this at the time of booking and it was clearly marked on our booking sheet. Profiteroles, which completed my meal, were fine. As mentioned, we are regular clients of the hotel - there were at least two other lunch functions on on the day, and I can only assume that the A-team (and possibly also the B-team) staff were involved in those. Contrast this to a well-know and award-winning city centre restaurant which I visited a day later - only €5 per head more expensive for the set lunch, but excellent food and superlative service. Hotels need to raise the bar to keep up.

This place is superb. The steak is delicious and the atmosphere and furnishing of the restaurant is lovely and eloquent.

I booked Pj's for the folks anniversary so I could take them out. We had a great time although the room is a little dated for me, they loved it. We all thought the food was perfect and service what you'd expect. They have already been back since!

High standards. Just what you'd expect in a hotel of this calibre. I had lamb and it was wonderful. Service was excellent. Menu was well thought out. Be aware - it is quite formal and could be imposing for some. Ideal for a romantic evening for two. Not the place for a boisterous meal and booze up. Recommended by me (and my dinner date)!!!
