Great value for food, a good selection to choose from, great entertainment on a Friday night that adds to the atmosphere. Well worth a visit for lunch or dinner or their carvery

I used to eat here regularly but the prices have gone up and the Sunday dinners are not what they used to be. The pub grub is quite good but it’s a tad expensive for what it is. All in all it’s not a too bad. Worth a try mid week but not for Sunday dinner.

One of the staples of Inchicore. It's located right in the heart of Inchicore - a quick walk from wherever you may be located. It's also handy enough located across the street from one of the only ATMs in Inchicore. I visit a few times a week for lunch. The service is always friendly and fast. The food is good - standard pub fare and costs what you would expect. It's also a good place to grab a few pints anytime.

I live very close to BlackLion so i would come here regularly for sunday carvery dinner. The portions are always huge & the price is standard usually €12.95-€13.95. They always have carvery serving until about 6pm so if you dont want an early dinner this will suit. They always have a good selection of Deserts aswell. After Carvery stops the have a Bar food menu which services until about 10pm. Good Variety of items on this, i have had the oriental chicken & noodle dish & also the Black Lion burger & both were lovely! So if you live in the area & enjoy Pub Grub & maybe a quite pint, the Black Lion is a good choice!

My family are regulars here on Sunday afternoons, the carvery is lovely and cheap. Staff are always friendly. The interior is nice and spacious with 'roomy' tables and is very comfrotable and welcoming. The mid-week menu leaves much to be deisred though as it is very expensive for what you get.It can be very busy on a Sunday but midweek is quiet. One major downside is that there is one tiny parking area that can fit about 5-6 cars and is difficult to manoevure around, Otherwise, give Sunday dinner a go, it will be well worth it.

I would usually head into the Black Lion on a Saturday or Sunday for a meal and a couple of drinks with the wife and kids. I live and work locally so its very handy for me. The food is good and it must be said that the Guinness IN THE BAR is class. On the 11/07/09 myself and the wife said we would have a bite to eat and a couple of pints. The food was good and the pints were going down well, but then it all went pear shaped. On my way back into the bar (we were sitting in the lounge) for my fourth and last pint of the day I was confronted by a member of management who in a very rude manner told me to take myself and my child away from the bar and if I wanted a pint to order it from the lounge. I was shocked to say the least. No such thing as managemnet skills with this guy who spoke to me like I was sixteen. He could have taken me aside and explained that it was not company policy to serve customers sitting in the lounge but instead he blew up on me. One of the main reasons I go there is because the place is family friendly, the food is nice and I can enjoy a pint from the bar which I think tastes better. I will never go back to this place after being spoken to like that in front of my daughter and other customers. The food is grand if you are looking for something affordable and nice but the attitude of the management was inexcusable and insulting.

Very poor menu and far too pricey for bar food. The staff were absolutely wonderful, so change the menu and the prices and they could be onto a winner.

I ordered the T-bone steak, the menu says it comes with fried mushrooms and onions but these never arrived! the champ was cold, the steak itself had the distinct flavour of fish! (unwashed pan?) i had to smother it in pepper sauce, not a great dining experience and it was also very pricey. one good point though, the staff are very friendly

I was highly impressed by the carvery in the Black Lion's. Lovely friendly staff. The only downside is that it's a bit out from the city centre, but definitively will go back if i'm around Inchicore!

Staff are very attentive and will make sure you're looked after if you need anything. Good children's menue and lots of choice for veggies. Buzzing atmosphere at the weekend and they do a nice carvery too. Not too expensive considering the size of the portions and sides. Live locally and it's always reliable. Considering how busy it gets, the staff never seem stressed out and never forget about you. Relaxed and cozy. Highly recommended if you're in Inchicore.

This is a great place to have a drink and a bite to eat after a hard days work. The pub is very clean and the food is tasty and very good value and the staff are friendly. Good portions set you up for a few more pints. It's a good place.
