Foodgame is more than just a quirky little café on South Lotts Road in Dublin 4, it’s a gourmet mini-market that will make any ‘foodie’s’ eyes light up. Food Game opened its doors for the first time at the end of September 2010. The vibe and ambience of the place hits you as soon as you walk in and the funky sounds greet you as you feast your eyes on everything that Foodgame has to offer.

There is a wide range of products on display and an abundance of cookery books for sale. Food Game supports Irish producers and this is reflected in the locally-sourced foodstuffs they use so you’re guaranteed it’s fresh and home-grown. Some European products are also available.

The décor is fun and friendly; you can peruse a book on art or photography and chill while enjoying cake and a coffee or you can pull up a seat around the large glass table, covered in cool surf and snowboarding pictures and chat to the person next to you. Either way, this is a place that leaves a mark on you and you are eager to come back and see what’s on the menu for the next day.

There is a hot dish served daily which is also available to take away as an evening meal for just €6. All their soups are gluten and dairy free.
Foodgame oozes with personality; this really is your one-stop shop for delicious food and friendly banter.

Ive read lots of good things about this place and its owner so we decided to go to one of their restaurant nights (open wed thurs fri only at the moment) and I am absolutely obsessed. I cant stop talking about the meal we had here last week. They menu is small, with maybe 8/9 options on the menu, but they are sharing plates so you order maybe 2-3 per person (but theyre are not like tapas) We had a nice bottle of red wine, and to eat we had mushrooms with chilli (there was feta or some delish cheese in there too), fresh hake, an aubergine dish and pork belly. Desserts were fab, french style little cake things, but on the small side which suits me as I just like a little something with my coffee! Full marks.
