Our Story
Konkan in Clanbrassil Street has been open from February 2004, and since then has garnered a reputation for being one of the best Indian restaurants and delivery service in the Dublin 6 & 8 area.

Since opening thirteen years back, Konkan has managed to earn a list of prestigious restaurant awards.

We opened the second Konkan in Dundrum in September 2011.

Our menu includes our specialities mainly from the south of India, as well as all the Indian dishes popular in Ireland. Our biryanis and samosas have been reviewed to be the best in Dublin. The main focus of the Konkan team has always been to serve the best quality Indian food at reasonable prices. In keeping with this, we prepare our food fresh to order and make all our spice masalas, yoghurt and paneer (cheese) in house.

Why not try a dinner at Konkan to experience our superb food and service, or order a take-out or delivery to enjoy some great Indian food at home.

Have eaten here in the distant past but this time we got a take-away. Never again. The delivery service was good and nice bag etc but the food was horrible. We ordered 2 different main courses and pilau rice. The rice was brown and salty, not the usual white pilau rice you get in Indian cuisine. The main dishes were different but looked and tasted the same. Just lumps of chicken in a hot salty brown sauce. (chicken was ok) it was the worst Indian we have ever had. We both had to rinse our mouths out with cold water there was so much salt. There were no visible vegetables in either despite being listed in the menu. We have put a big X on this menu as a warning never to use again.

We really enjoyed our evening here for dinner, we had the Valentines menu and my tee total hubby enjoyed the choices of de-alcoholised wine and a non alcoholic refreshing drink that is on the menu. The food was delicious, plentiful and very reasonably priced. The service was warm and attentive. We will definitely return.

was here with a group of friends, decor is outdated and dinnerware is also in need of a touchup. food was ok, the waiting times however were pretty poor. Had we been in a rush we would have left, food arrived too slow and then tables were left with dirty plates for far too long. disappointing

4 of us decided to try KonKan last friday as we had heard nothing but good reports. We opted for the early bird, 2 course with tea or coffee for €16.95. Food was delicous & the portions were substantial. The staff were very friendly & attentive. The interior could do with a revamp & definitely some background music but if you want an excellent meal & value for money, then this is the place.

My boyfriend and I came across this restaurant by chance as we were in Dundrum looking for somewhere new to eat. Having looked at the menu we decided to pop into Konkan and we were pleasantly surprised by the experience. The restaurant itself could do with a few touches - tablecloths, better serving bowls and some music would not go astray - but the food itself was delicious. We opted for the early bird menu and we were not disappointed. We went for different dishes and each one of them was as tasty as the next. We will return and will also avail of the take-away menu.

I went here last Saturday night with my boyfriend and we opted for the tasting menu, which provided a variety of starters and main courses. I particularly liked the starter of chicken with a spinach, pine nut and cottage cheese stuffing. Delicious. My boyfriend really enjoyed the spicy fish cake starter. The starter of minced lamb in filo pastry was also very tasty. For the main courses, we were given fish curry, butter chicken, lamb bhuna and a lentil dish. All delicious, particularly the lamb bhuna. We were very full afterwards. Highly recommended.

We went for the tasting menu and loved it. The selection of starters was presented in such a way that you could make your own flavour combinations and it was delicious. We've tasted indian food lots of times but there were some interesting and tasty bites we've never had before. The mains were also plentiful and delicious; we had three differently flavoured naans, too. There was enough food there to be comfortably shared by more than two people. The restaurant itself is lovely, nicely decorated. The servers very friendly and attentive. Overall, good little place with reasonable prices and great food.

We went to Konkan for dinner and ordered the tasting menu - which is several starters and mains to share. The food was delicious, very tasty, and the service was good. We were 3 of us, so I guess our tasting menu was bigger than their standard tasting menu for 2 people, and it was so much food! I was pretty full after starters, and then they brought 4 mains and 3 different naans. We could not finish it - took 2 mains with us home in a takeaway bag and had them for lunch the next day. Overall very good, and saves you on cooking lunch the next day :)

Arrived at 18.30 on a Friday - only one other couple in restaurant but filled up as evening went on. We had the sharing platter which is great value at 20 euro per person (minimum of 2 people required). Half a dozen starters + half a dozen main courses brought to table: very tasty selection. Staff friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Will return.

A fairly new addition to Dundrum, Konkan is located in the premises previously occupied by Italian restaurant - Buona Siera. This was our second visit. The restaurant is small, and diners in the front section are likely to feel a draft from the front door - usually left ajar. Tables are quite close together, so don't expect too much privacy. However, the food is very good indeed. Probably the best Indian we have been to!! This time we tried their taster menu. Good value at Eur 20 per person. We got to try six or so different starters. All very good, but the Papri Chat was particularly delicious! There were four mains. Clearly they thoroughly marinate the chicken and lamb, as the flavours were imbedded!! The nam breads were definitely the best we have ever had. Light and flavourful. They only serve the house wines by the glass - but these were, in fact, very good. On this particular visit, there seemed to be a problem in the kitchen, and we waited an irritating 30 minutes for the starters to appear. However, manager and staff were very apologetic, and did not charge us for our wine as a goodwill gesture. The restaurant is local to us, but even it it wasn't - we would be back!!
