Went for an impromptu dinner here yesterday. The atmosphere was great with some relaxing jazz in the background. The staff were extremely attentive and friendly. The food was creative and delicious. I'm extremely glad we went there. The price was what you would expect of a restaurant in Dun Laoghaire but it was worth every penny. The only fault I would say is that there are no locks on the toilet doors..that just weirded me out a bit! :)

We visited the restaurant for lunch and we had a most enjoyable time. Such a pity there were not more full tables which would have added to the atmosphere. Service was very efficient, friendly and unobtrusive. I would encourage more people to visit this restaurant and sample their tasty food.

Went there last Sunday for the first time even though I live around the corner. It's so easy to walk by and miss it, as it appears quite dark from the outside. But once inside it is lovely and welcoming, the staff are lovely. Service was excellent. A friend had a prawn started -he is from the states and said they were some of the best he has tasted - high praise indeed. The presentation of the food is wonderful - very artistic, and it tastes as good as it looks. We will be returning. The only reason we deducted half a star was because the restaurant was not full of people for atmosphere. I am guessing you see it, think food as you walk past the entrance (which is easy to do) by the time it registers with you, you are standing at Milanos which has a big bright entrance and you tend to just walk in there - which is a big miss. Would totally recommend this restaurant.

I went to Bistro le Monde on a recommendation. We walked past and thought it was closed! We were literally the only people in the place at 3pm on a very sunny Sunday which I found odd! It meant though that atmosphere was lacking. The kids menu in was €6.95. My kids had a large salmon cutlet each mashed potato for one and chips for the other. Funnily it was served on a black slate in an arty way with dots of sauce around the salmon. I had to ask for a small pot of sauce as both wanted more sauce inevitably. I don't think kids plates need to be presented as fancy. It's not practical for them.nHubby had pizza and pronounced it to be the best he's had in years.nI had king prawns to start. Very fancy presentation again but a bit of style over substance I felt. The prawns were lukewarm. My main was sea bass which was divine. Crispy skin. Served on a bed of wilted spinach with mashed potato on the side. Again this was served in a posh big plate with a recess in the middle so they could dot stuff around the rim but there wasn't enough space for the actual food inside the recess of the plate! I would have preferred a flat plate or slate. nOverall I would go back. Very nice indeed n nn

We have lunch out most Sundays around the a dun Laoghaire. We used to go to Morels, formerly Alexis but it's closed now. Anyway we have tried a few other restaurants in the area but none to equal Morels until today. the menu is really reasonable, probably around 20 for 3 courses. I had the chicken wings to start and they were amazing. Then I had an interesting spaghetti with squash followed by a chocolate mouse and it was all lovely. It's a strange name and a sometimes strange menu but all in all it works and we will be back. We had 3 small kids/babies with us and they were very good with them too.

I dont know why this place is not busier. It is fantastic food, great service and cosy inside on a very cold evening. Great value for money early bird at 19.95 for two courses up to 7.30pm in the evening. I ate every single crumb on the plate. Will definitely be back again and will tell all my friends.

As other people have commented, this restaurant is a hidden gem. The name and outer facade don't give it justice, as the inside is tastefully decorated and has a good atmosphere. I went here on a Monday so it was pretty quiet, but both the food and service was excellent. Would highly recommend.

The Travel Cafe is definitely worth a visit if you live in the Dun Laoghaire area. The food here is of a very high standard, beautifully presented. The decor so a little old fashioned, but don't let that put you off. As they have a pizza oven it is the perfect place for families as there is something for everyone on the menu. Give it a try.

This restaurant is definitely worth a try. The menu has a variety of choices to suit all tastes. I had the beef bourgignon which was absolutely delicious! The kids had pizzas which were very tasty and had a lovely thin base. Very good value too. My advice - bring the family to Travel Cafe!

Excellent Restaurant - the presentation and quality of the food is what you expect in a restaurant costing twice as much. Limited menu but what they do, they do exceptionally well.

We just ate here for my sister's birthday...and I was bowled over! What looks like an unassuming place from the outside turns out to be a beautiful restaurant within. The staff are so friendly and attentive (thanks to Michael, our lovely waiter!)...and the chef is an artist. Every single plate tasted wonderful and looked stunning on the plate - it was picture perfect. The value for money was incredible...with or without the early bird offer, as the quality of everything was so high. A must-visit.

This is a very pleasant dining experience - maybe we were lucky on the nights we were there, but the atmosphere was very calm and unhurried with little ambient noise - a big plus when one' s hearing is not what it was! Service was exceptionally good - professional and friendly without being intrusive. I will certainly go back.
