The Greenery restaurant is located right in the heart of Dublin 4, one of Dublin’s most fashionable districts. This restaurant also has a sister restaurant in Portobello. The Greenery in Donnybrook provides a welcome but convenient refuge from the madness of the city centre. Treat yourself to a few hours break and come and see what all the fuss is about in the Greenery. The restaurant has built up a sterling reputation over the years, and the wide European and Irish menu is extremely popular with locals and visitors. Award-winning chef Albert Broderick is at the helm of the kitchen; he has been cooking top notch cuisine for over 15 years now. He has worked in some of the best restaurants and hotels in Dublin, from The Commons on Stephen Green to the Berkley Court Hotel. The only way to take our word for it is to try it out yourself.

Went on foot of a friends visit and was delighted we did. The food is sublime and the service is second to none. Ideal for a lazy brekkie/brunch.

After a day of traipsing around town, Sunday dinner was devoured in The Greenery, Donnybrook. The original plan was to dine in a Brazilian restuarant but me being me I left the whole ‘reserving a table’ far too late. After much indecisiveness we decided to haul ass to Dun Laoghaire, as the majority of Mark’s favourite spots seem to be in that general vicinity. How and ever, en route we decided to check out the Greenery, and double check if it was still serving. In my head, The Greenery was more a cafe than a restaurant, as in brunches/coffees/cocktails… (All of which are delicious but I presumed the doors would be long shut after 6pm.) How wrong was I – it’s dinner menu is mouth-watering and available ’til late. Firstly, the staff were wonderful – as in noticeably, out-of-their-way helpful and enthusiastic, in a non try-hard way. I went with a goat’s cheese salad to start (the clean eating intentions were nothing if not there!), and my partner in crime started with cod croquette. Both were delicious, both were eaten in two seconds, both opened our hunger for mains! The choice of mains was painful, they literally had it all from lobster to lamb. I eventually went with the cod and mussels special (served with the fluffiest of crispy potatoes, asparagus and leeks). It was insane – incredibly delish! And worth every calorie in the creamy bacon sauce… Mark went for a burger, which obviously I also tried. This too was pretty amaze, so fresh and juicy… Kale/lettuce/quinoa will never, ever compare. I tried to refrain from dessert, whilst Mark wanted two. Being the angel that I am I ordered mine for him, then accidentally pretty much both – We shared a Banoffi and an Eton Mess. You can’t really go wrong with either to be fair – They did’t last long. Two cappuccinos to finish, and our bill came to sixty euro. Which is pretty darn cheap if ya ask me – Their three course early bird (served till 7pm) is twenty-five euro, which for the quality of the food is as good as it gets. The Greenery gets five gold stars from me – Can’t wait to go back with my fat pants on!

A group of friend and I visited the greenery with good intentions and high hopes. The website looked good and the menus seemed great. My group were hoping for a quick lunch and back to work however our experience didn't really work out like that. After being seated we placed our order, we waited patiently for the first 20 mins, the next 20 mins was a mixture of looking at the kitchen door swing open hoping our food was ready to be served and general confusion as to why our food was not arriving. 50 mins later our server came back to our table "to confirm our order" we asked if the order was ever placed or was it forgotten about, sadly our order was never placed with the kitchen. We waited about 15mins after our second time giving our order for the food to arrive. To be fair to the restaurant when the food arrived it was really tasty, unfortunately we have to wolf it down as we were due back in the office. There was some apologies made however that didn't really help matters. Once we had finished our meal we went to pay. I suppose due to past experiences or probably personal expectations we anticipated a slight discount for the poor service but this was not something that was even suggest.

The food is good here, slightly strained atmosphere, waitress took 3 of our drinks order and walked away before taking my husbands order. The menu stated the wine was from South Africa, when it came, the label said it was from Australia.i don't know if I'd return

I went for Sunday Brunch and it was really enjoyable, great value and the food was lovely. I had the Avocado granary toast w/ chili, feta, mint and lemon olive oil. The portion was big (great value for money) and really tasty. I also had a Dr. Green Juice, which was really refreshing. The waiters were friendly and the service was quick. Highly recommend it for Brunch any day of the week!

The staff are not trained! Vegetables came as main dish nearly eaten. Very scatty and annoying. Food not imaginative.

I visited the greenery for brunch this week, and three weeks ago for dinner. The atmosphere is lovely; it is well lit, comfortable, and has a cosy feel to it. Where it falls down somewhat is the service; on both occasions i found the service to be very slow, having to ask several times for drinks, the bill etc(however all the staff are very friendly!) and this is a small thing but it really put my mum off - there are little ramikins of salt on each table, and some of these were dirty (olive oil and pesto stains), which doesn't look great when it's the first thing you see as you sit down. However, the food is absolutely delicious- they've got an extensive brunch menu and everything on it is done really well.
