Never again staff were friendly and efficient but food was tastless and bland also charging restaurant prices for basic pub grub felt ripped off high prices for bland food

I'm a regular diner and drinker in Kiely's pub but over the last two visits I've left feeling very dissatisfied. The reasons were mainly the services, waiters mixing up orders or leaving things off our order and the food, far too much salt in gravy and still frozen centre of "hot" apple pie both were handed back. The cost of the food matches most restaurants which is ambitious for "pub grub"

Met some clients here for lunch and enjoyed a cracking Cajun chicken pitta sandwich. They buy their meat from a craft butcher in Blessington so you can be sure of fantastically fresh Irish meat! They also do a low fat menu and coliac friendly options. Great warm atmosphere and the encouragement is always there to forget the car and have a few pints! Very hospitable staff, good, wholesome dependable Dublin pub fayre.

Stopped in here for a quick lunch with a friend and enjoyed it. I had the goats cheese salad which was delicious. The cheese was served on bread and the salad was varied, full of flavour and a decent size. I would have liked it if the menu had given the option of having this meal as a main course as it was too big for a starter and yet too small for a main course. It was certainly excellent standard for pub food though it wasn't cheap. It was very quiet during Friday afternoon so there wasnt much atmosphere but it was very relaxing. The staff were efficient and very helpful when I asked about the nearest internet cafe (In Ranelagh). The pub is very modern inside and spacious with comfortable seating. The toilets were clean and well maintained.

The Pub Grub here is quite good if a little slow to arrive. We ordered the Burger and chips and it was large but a small bit overpriced. They used to some with homemade chips but these have been replaced with frozen variety. Burger itself was well cooked and large and homemade. Staff couldn't have been nicer

The made-to-order sandwiches kept us going back to Kielys whenever we found ourselves in or around town and wanting a bite to eat. Four of us went for an early Saturday lunch, and the pub grub was top notch, on a par with previous visits. Drinks were slow to come - we'd to put in a request for a pint of Guinness three times before it landed on our table. Worse still, a customer from a neighbouring table in Ciss's came over as soon as we finished eating. He informed us that he and a group of his friends had reserved our table for the purposes of watching a Six Nations game which was due to start a couple of hours later. We thought the bar staff could have at the very least informed us of this arrangement before we were seated. We didn't want to cause a fuss or seem put out by the grown man's childish request, but we thought it bad form of the staff not to give us advance warning, and left not wanting to give them any further custom. As a frequent customer who lived in the area for the previous four years, I was annoyed by the customer service and it will be a while before we return.

Great pub grub, always reliable. Chicken pitta is great. Great atmosphere on match days only problem is getting a seat.

Popped in on way home for a bite to eat. I had lemon sole goujons and Mr FishFinger had a ham & cheese sandwich. Both were delicious, came with stacks of chips and side salad. Service was fabulous. Excellent value. Great local pub for food, drinkies and fun.

In contrast to the other reviewers, I didn't find the choice on the menu to be very good. I found it quite limited. However, my chicken caeser salad was quite tasty. The tomato soup was not good - it tasted like a cup a soup and I would definitely expect better than that. Having said that. the atmosphere and the staff are both great.

Was out visiting a friend in Stillorgan so we decided to head into Donnybrook for some food. We were here on Sunday evening so there was a mix of people in watching football and having a chat, not jam packed for the bank holiday weekend. Nice choice of Pub Grub on the menu. I had the goats cheese salad and my friend had the club with chips. There was enough to feed a small army! quite good value and nice relaxed atmosphere in the pub. Would go again if I'm out that way.

Kiely's is my favourite place for pub grub, tasty and great value. My favourite are the chicken goujons. Instead of the typical chicken in breadcrumbs they are strips of chicken fried in chili & garlic and served with salsa, tortilla and salad on the side. This comes with a portion of chips for under a tenner-bargain! Have also tried the chicken pitta, bangers and mash, steak sandwich and fish and chips, all of which were great. Great food, good value, and staff are friendly too

I always liked this place for a nice quiet lunch, as long as someone else was paying (!) but when I went in there recently they had changed the menu. Unbelievably they had neglected to include a vegetarian option, which was all the more startling in a place that previously housed one of the best risottos to be found in Dublin, as well as a perfectly lovely cannelloni dish, which was admittedly a little heavy on the bechamel. I was furious when I discovered this, and asked the barmaid what was going on. She was quite sharp with me until one of the older barmen noticed, and offered me a pasta dish with a stir in sauce since I was a regular customer. I declined and went across the street to another place. It seems a little backward for a gourmet pub grub place like Kiely's to exclude such a huge demographic in Dublin 4. If you're health conscious this is no longer the place for you. Sorry!
