Myself & a friend often have lunch here & we loved the old menu. They have changed the lunchtime menu to the bar menu which makes it very expensive for a quick lunch. There was actually nothing that we really wanted on the menu so we had the soup. We are both very disappointed & will now be looking for somewhere different to eat.

Beautiful weather, surroundings and food, what more could you want? Still one of my favourite places to eat in Dalkey TOWN. The fish was delicious and the desserts are beautiful. As a former resident I know exactly where is genuine and this restaurant would be hard to beat.

Met with 2 friends home from England- all former residents of Dalkey. This was and still is one of our favourite restaurants in Dalkey. The scampi and fries and the desserts were beautiful. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. A long standing restaurant in Dalkey TOWN. Would recommend to anyone looking for a meal or just a coffee or quiet drink.

I ate here for lunch after my graduation last month with my family. As it was nice out it was lovely to sit outside the front of the restaurant. We shared tempura prawns and chicken wings for starters which were both delicious. I had steak on the stone with chunky chips which comes with bearnaise sauce, pepper sauce and garlic butter. Everything was delicious and great value for the amount of food and drinks we got.

We took the dart from Howth to meet friends here for Germany v Ireland. There was a fair crowd in given it was a Tuesday night so when the equaliser went in the whole place went berserk. No distractions from the food though: my chicken wings starter was bang on, my scampi main course was delicious. The shared bill came in at about 35 each - including drinks. The DART home to the north side was an enjoyed trip for two. Thoroughly enjoyed the south side midweek pub grub experience.

Great bar food, lots on the menu & the portions are really big. The wings are great but came with a garlic dip, I think blue cheese would be better, but other than that excellent. Got the special of Cajun chicken wrap with chips, tasty & good value overall. Nice area to sit & eat outside.

I've visited Queens Bar a number of times, most recently for Sunday lunch with my wife and her parents from Belgium. My father-in-law ordered mussels and declared them as good as any he has ever had in Belgium - high praise indeed. I had a half-roast chicken with wonderful crispy skin and moist flesh - very more-ish. Service was efficient and friendly. It's not haute cuisine but good value bar food. Recommended

We decided to drop in for their steak on a stone deal. The staff when they eventually came were very nice and took our order quickly. You can decide how much you want it cooked so it was quite juicy and the chips were lovely and crispy. I would consider this very good value and nice for a quick bite rather than a special night out. It is a busy pub so if you don't like it too noisy it would be better to go early.

My husband and I went here on a Sunday afternoon for a bite to eat for lunch. We took a table outside and were given menus immediately, but no drink order was taken. It was just midday when we sat down so it wasn’t too busy at this stage. 10 mins later we finally managed to get a waitresses attention to take our order, when we mentioned that we had been waiting too long, she completely ignored this! The menu is ok, a few salads, burgers, sandwiches and bigger meat and fish dishes. The chicken wings were popular and being served to lots of diners, and I have had these before, and they are very tasty! Glasses of water and drinks were brought quickly enough and food was brought in good time too. My husband had the burger which he was very happy with and it was very big with a good size portion of chips. I ordered the lemon, fennel and chicken salad, and got something very different, albeit reasonably tasty. I assumed a mistake had been made in the kitchen so didn’t eat it and tried to get attention of a waitress. It got to the point where my husband was almost finished, so I began to eat it. The chicken was nice, and plenty of it, but the rest of the salad was so bland. I eventually got the waitresses attention and explained that there was no lemon or fennel, and she said “there is” I moved the leaves around to show that there was no fennel, and explained that there was no point bringing me something else as my husband was almost finished. The manager then came out to ask me why I was unhappy. He explained that the chicken was marinated in lemon and fennel, even though I could not taste this, and it did not state this on the menu, he didn’t offer an apology or seem to care. I was pretty disappointed to see we were still charged for this on our bill. I will not come back here again and I do not recommend it. The service is bad and food only average. I saw a fellow diner explain to a waitress that he was waiting too long for his drink order, her response was “oh right”.

Had steak with a colleague at the bar. Steak was poor, meagre and tough. Bill was a bit steep for the food. Staff were friendly enough. Will be a while before I'm back.

I won't be rushing back here anyday soon the food was basic the staff a bit rude and not enough customers to create an atmosphere and with so few customers I would think the waitress would notice when the food was finished instead of leaving the finished plates on the table for 10 mins before asking if we would like anything else next time I will walk on by unless I want a beer on a nice day then ill sit in their beer garden which is quite beautifull

Fab place, great service, brilliant for steak, they do great steak on the stones nights. Loads of special offers on wine. The only thing is we went on steak night and it was incredibly smoky also the tables were all full and quite squished together ( packed as a result of the great food and deals!)

Visited The Queens Bar with my partner for the first time last Sunday afternoon. It was busy but by no means overrun. We were extremely disappointed with both the service and the food. We waiting 45 mins for our food and had to ask twice if it was on its way. The waitress told us the first time that it was being plated up (she didn't seem very concerned that we were waiting that long), however we still had to wait 10 minutes before it arrived, however we had also asked again in the meantime, when what looked like the head waiter came and asked us if everything was okay. He apologized and said they were very busy because of the weather. It was mild out but dull and cloudy and we had heard a waitress tell another customer that they were not serving food outside due to being understaffed, so I don't know understand what the weather had to do with it. Also none of the wait staff seemed to have any urgency about them for such a 'busy' afternoon. When the food arrived it was luke warm to cold but we were starving at this point so ate it anyway. I got the burger and chips; the burger was okay however the option of chips was tiny for a 12 euro meal. We just wanted to leave at this stage so my partner went up to pay rather than waiting for the bill. When he got to the register there was several staff present however none paid any attention to him and he could see and hear that some sort of an argument was going on and one of the waitress was upset. He then sought out the waiter who had approached us previously and gave him the cash directly and let him know of our complaints. Neither of us are fussy when it comes to a bit of Sunday pub grub lunch and have never complained in the past; but we will not be going to Queens again.

Loved the steak on the stone - I had the fillet and it was excellent quality meat. The accompanying sauces and chips were really tasty. Service and ambiance were both very good, I was surprised how busy it was mid-week. It was good value too, and seeing as I am now on a protein diet for the month of Jan - I will defo be going back for another few steaks on the stone but this time minus the fries!
