very busy but that didn't detract from our enjoyment. it is a feature of successful restaurants and the time of year that your time on the table is limited and we were ushered out with polite speed to make room for the next customers.

Love this place! In my opinion best chicken wings in Dublin - beats Tribeca and elephant and castle. Nice bistro type surroundings and if you get a table at the back you can watch the chefs hard at it. Great value for money - incredibly reasonable bistro menu. Love it. Nice place for a date too

We have tried to get a table here for a long time. Well worth the wait. We got a great table. I have never seen staff work so hard, the restaurant was full so we were left waiting a bit longer for plates to be cleared, but this would not stop me from giving everything else 5 stars. Food was very good. Not over seasoned like other restaurants in the same area. Will definitely be heading back soon. Overall a vert enjoyable evening with good food

Lovely buzzing restaurant obviously run by people who love what they do. Had a gorgeous starter of smoked salmon and prawn roulade which was light and tasty. Steak cooked perfectly for main, with proper smoky searing on the outside. It is quite pricey, €12 for starters, €26 for steak and the sides were extra. Great food though.

Great local eaterie. Was packed out which speaks to the popularity. Food is very good with a good wine list, with lots of good options at different price ranges. Staff attentive and on point without being in your face. Known for their steaks but I would recommend the seafood which is typically local and fresh

First up, this is our second visit to Devilles, the first visit was good enough to bring us back again..but unfortunately not this one. The staff are very friendly and the menu selection is good, great cocktails too and they are the positives. The starters arrived promptly enough and were ok, we could have done with some bread for the table though, it was a good half hour before the main course arrived. I had ordered rack of lamb medium rare and my friend, medium well, hers was fine thankfully but mine was on the very well side of well done, it was taken back to the kitchen no problem, the second one arrived 20 minutes later (which should have warned me it would be too well done and yes it certainly was) it too was sent back to the kitchen and the chef when he pulled it apart saw the towards the centre it was medium rare, but too well cooked towards the outside. A new rack came back..perfect...but a good half hour after my companions dinner was finished. Now the staff were brilliant about it an apologised profusely, but when the bill came, one cocktail and one desert were taken off as a gesture, but the lamb was still on it, I really don't think this was good enough, and it tarnished our experience of what otherwise had great potential to become our new regular haunt.

Disappointed on my last visit. Although I had booked my party of three were seated at a cramped small table while there were more suitable tables available. The food was a bit overcooked for my liking. Will return in a few weeks, maybe it was just a bad night.

Mediocre at best. The service was about the best thing I could say about this restaurant. The food is above Dublin City prices and a bear bug with me is when you have to order sides to complete a proper dinner. 26 Euro for a steak without veg etc is too steep. My dish was oily and reeking of Garlic and it was melted onto the bowl. . The fries and onion rings were overcooked. The fish dish was the best and this wasn't anything to write home about, once again served without veg. There was no bread served with the starter of french Onion soup. So overall I wouldn't be rushing back. If DeVilles was in Dublin City Centre any French restaurant would beat it hands down. Would I go back, em no thanks.

Was a regular here but not after a poor experience. Ordered a cocktail as a special treat, waitress put a surcharge over and above menu price without telling me on bill, which I only spotted when paying and when I raised the issue was patronised and argued with by the manager despite the issue being the fault of his staff member. I was annoyed to the level it ruined the evening and motivated me to write this negative review.

We were passing by and thought we'd pop in for a quick dinner early on Friday evening with our baby. We had no reservation but thought we would try our luck! We were offered a table with apologies for a main course only. We were delighted to be seated at all so happily took it. Our waiter brought our menus and a high chair and introduced himself as Will. He was very friendly and super efficient. Whilst we were choosing he told us we could fit in a starter if we fancied, he then brought cold cucumber and bread for our baby which we were all delighted with!! We both had French onion soup and then one steak/frites and a burger. ALL the food was delicious. The service was efficient but we didn't feel rushed and the atmosphere was so great we were sorry we could not stay for the evening. Next time we will definitely make a reservation and come baby free to really enjoy the place. We can't believe we only discovered this place, we will 100% be back!!

Sometimes it's nice to judge somewhere by the simple things. The staff seem like they're having fun and want you to. Minute Steak and frites, a simple pleasure is excellent. They make a good cocktail and know the value of a good house wine. You can dine formally at a table or lounge with a pint and a burger at the bar and be made welcome at either. Good stuff.
