A great place to watch sport as there's a TV in every corner. Can get very busy when there is a match on at Landsdowne or a show on at the RDS.

Crowes does a great Phillie Cheesesteak, with salad & fries, for 10e. I've had the real thing in Philadelphia, and Crowes' compares to the best of them! There can be a wait at lunchtime, and the staff often ask regulars with a big group to call ahead with orders, to avoid lunch hours running over. The 8e pulled pork sandwich is also a favorite of mine.

Crowes have a special lunch deal; Buy a lunch during lunch on a Friday, and if you come back for after-work drinks, they'll shout your first drink. A group of us took them up on the deal and were very satisfied. I had the cheeseburger and chips. The burger was juicy and the chips were home-cut and chunky. There was some delay, which the barman said was due to a large party in the restaurant upstairs. He advised calling ahead next time, which is fair enough. One thing to watch out for, the deal doesn't run on Fridays when Leinster play their home games, so call ahead, but the value is unbeatable all the same.

Went into Crowes in New Years day after Leinster game, so thought we wouldn't get food in the bar but we were lucky. Barman explained we could be waiting a bit as the kitchen was busy with upstairs food orders, but we were happy to wait. Staff very friendly was impressed that after ordering 1 round they knew it 2nd time we ordered and the pub was packed. Ordered just chicken goujons and chips and we were pleasantly surprised how quick we got them. It may have been juts goujons and chips but they were really good proper chicken goujons huge portions. Definitely worth the visit if you are in the area looking for cheap pub grub and good service - this is the place

Crowes now offer a Chinese buffet lunch for the grand sum of €10. Their regular menu is also available. On the day I visited, spring rolls, spare ribs, not and sour soup and crispy duck were available as starters. Mains were mushroom beef, satay chicken, stir-fried veg with noodles, rice and chips as accompaniments. All are self-service out of chafing dishes. There's no limit to the amount you can eat and it was all cooked to a good standard. In fact, it was quite tasty. The pub however, could do with being a bit more brightly lit for the lunchtime trade.

Crowe's is a traditional old pub. The place is clearly a bit of a tourist trap, as evidenced by the exorbitant prices. There is a pub grub menu, which is fairly short on sandwich options and rather oddly Chinese-influenced (starters of spare ribs, sesame prawn toast etc in an old-fashioned pub setting? not exactly the most appropriate of choices...). We ordered the steak & chips and the burger. Both dishes were vile and tasteless. At a shocking €19 for the grey, fatty steak served with a mountain of obviously reheated chips, and €12 for what my companion described as the worst burger of his life, this establishment is charging proper restaurant prices for incredibly substandard food. The staff were very pleasant and polite, however upon subsequently ordering a pint of coke at the bar (i.e. 2 glass bottles of cola poured into a pint glass), I witnessed the barman accidentally spill half one of the bottles on the floor and top up the remainder of the drink with a scoop of ice. He then handed me the heavily watered-down drink and proceeded to charge the FULL PRICE for two bottles of coke. (When I brought it back to where we were sitting my companion unprompted pulled a face and remarked on how watery it was) CAVEAT EMPTOR!!!!! This experience certainly left a bad taste in my mouth.
