Originally designed by the architect Francis Johnston whose other works include the GPO and St. George's Church Hardwicke Place, The Old Boro School opened in 1809 and played in integral part in the life of Swords until closing its doors for the last time as a school in the year 2000.

Today, having been lovingly renovated by The Smith Group and architects Space Projects so the traditional and contemporary merge comfortably together, The Old Boro has once again become a hub of Swords life as a public house.

Their daily lunch menu offers something for everyone. Try one of their succulent pannini, hot and tempting toasties or the chef’s special, made with the freshest ingredients available. From 5pm, their À la Carte menu is sure to get your appetite going with items such as Fresh Crab Claws, Bruschetta, Stuffed Fillet of Chicken Parma and Crisp Barbery Duck to name but a few!

Dreadful....avoid at all cost....you have to order your food at the bar... when the food arrived starters and mains arrived together....Food was cold and even colder were the staff...no wonder you have to pay for your food before you are served it as you would not pay for the muck you are served....will not be back

Was fairly quiet. Staff very friendly. Service was super speedy and large breakfast was fantastic. Only one comment is not enough butter. One tiny butter for a slice of toast and a big slice of soda bread is not enough. Everything else was perfect! Will be back.

My husband and I came here for lunch before a mammoth shopping spree. nWe were pleasantly surprised with the large sunny garden out front and the size of the pub inside. nThe staff were lovely and let my husband try the various beers before choosing one. Impressive selection. nThe food was extremely good value and really tasty. Very quick service and the waitress was friendly and efficient. nI'm from the uk and have had mixed feelings about various Wetherspoons I've visited previously. I'm happy to say though, this was an extremely pleasant experience!

Had evening meal here with 4 others. Food quite good. We found it very hard to get the attention of staff. As a result we had to get up each time we wanted a drink. It wasn't that they were overly busy. The table that was reserved for us was a high table so the stool chairs were high also so it was an effort getting up all the time. Pity other wise I would rate it better. Hopefully they will take this as constructive critism and do something about it. I will be back to see. Nice building with parking out front so location is excellent. Would really like to see them doing well.

Had a Sunday evening dinner here with wife and two kids. Really good value as kids eat free when adult meal purchased. Service was quick and good. I had the roast bacon which was really tasty. My wife had the chicken curry. Easily going to be back here again. There was a band playing in the bar and it was a bit loud when having a meal.

This pub is a very nice pub and was decorated fantastically for halloween. We ordered from the early bird menu which was very reasonable at €15.95 for 4 courses. Mushrooms for starters were very nice, stir fry was also very nice and then the cheesecake was excellent. Very good value for money. Staff were very friendly but service was a bit slow.

A nice pub, lovely menu but the food was very poor. A group of us went and we all had different dishes and no-one was overly impressed by any of it. I was unlucky with my choices - caesar salad for starter (very mayoinaissey), beef and guiness pie and chips (beef was very tough) and then apple crumble ( it wasn't heated properly so I had to send it back. It also had a kind of raspberry syrup poured over it like you would get on a 99 - strange). The service was friendly but the food was a huge let down. I won't be back - shame as the setting was nice and the decor lovely.

even though the food tasted great, its states children eat free..well we got chicken nuggets and chips and spagetti bolognaise the nuggets weren't that nice (we had been in there 2 weeks previous and the nuggets were made with real chicken in batter this time they were just nuggets you would buy in JC's) but the spagetti bol well the portion that we received was in a really small bowl which for a 10yr old wouldn't even be a starter so we had to order more food for her dinner so really the children didn't eat for free i would have rather have paid the early bird cost for them and they get 3 or 4 course meal too. we were also in there for over an hour waiting for our food twice we had to ask when it was coming.

Had lunch on Sunday with a couple of friends here. The service was slow and there was a mistake on our bill. The 4 course meal was good value and good sized portions but the food was average. Cheesecake disappointing.

Extremely disappointing. Very slow service and food not really worth the lengthy wait. Below average, esp disappointing carrot cakee...not that hard surely. Nice looking pub however!

Quite possibly the worst place I have ever eaten lunch in. Myself & some workmates came here when someone was leaving our office for lunch. We all ordered salads/sambos & a pie (nothing too complicated). We waited an hour for the food to arrive. We had been the first group to arrive in the pub for lunch service & tables who came after us were served before us. There was no explanation as to why the food was taking so long & when it did arrive they had managed to get simple orders (like a toasted cheese sandwich) wrong. I had a chicken & mushroom pie, which was disgusting. To make up for the hour wait, the staff offered us free tea or coffee but by that time we were well overdue our return to work & we couldnt wait any longer. Wont ever be returning here.

Have eaten here a few times , was surprised someone said the waiting staff where not nice as I have always found the girls very pleasent . Had the steak last time round & it was perfect was cooked just right & the chips where also very nice . My friend had a salad & her only complaint was it was a little heavy on the dressing (she is on a diet) . All in all a very pleasent dinner & not too heavy on the pocket

We dined here on Saturday night and were very pleasantly surprised. The menu was varied and the portions very generous. The soup and bruschetta were gorgeous as starters and the roast beef and vegetable stirfry very tasty. We were too full for dessert but will definately try them the next time.
