The Elphin – It’s as out of place as a snowman in the desert and yet, it’s exactly where it should be!

The Elphin, situated on Baldoyle Road just a short distance from Sutton and the Coast Road, has all the charm of a local pub that has decades of history with a modern theme. The interior, newly decorated in July 2007, is surrounded by a granite bar, gleaming modern taps, leather stools and an ultra-cool display of optics along with the most desired whiskeys.

They serve a wide selection of beers, wines and spirits and a great ‘pub grub’ menu. The Elphin has a relaxed atmosphere which allows its customers to eat, drink, watch sports and solve the problems of the country and the World in comfort. Their new, well placed big screens and excellent sound system caters for all crowd sizes and makes it a pleasure to watch the big games and the less popular sports.

The Elphin is a place of pleasure, entertainment and merriment that doubles as a place of refuge and retreat. It’s a place where time passes quickly, where the surroundings are opulent, the drink and food are of the highest quality, the wit is sharp and friends are ‘on tap’.

Can safely say this is probably the best bar food i ever tasted, reasonably priced and friendly regulars made the visit worthwhile. Will definately be going back. Portions just right, I had a corned beef and my wife had Scampi. Alot of customers here but plenty of room for everyone

Minimal atmosphere (décor is horrible), average quality food which is overpriced and limited menu, slow service and 'don't care' mentality of staff. Best thing about The Elphin is the Exit.

Have been here for lunch a good few times and the food is always excellent. On most recent visit the waitress was very pleasant and accommodating. Best to get here early for a seat and ordering as it can get quite busy for lunch. The menu hasn't changed much for years but the daily specials do.

We have been here a couple of times and if we lived closer would be there all the time. Each time the food has been delicious. I mean DELICIOUS. the staff are very friendly and willing to help. Only once we had a poor meal, chose the cajun wings mistenly thinking they were Buffalo wings. They weren't great, but thats our fault I suppose; Will most definitely be returning. 10/10

I hadn't been here for eight years. I went for lunch yesterday and really enjoyed it. The service was very pleasant and any special requests were carried out. I had deep fried mushrooms followed by profiteroles. One of my dining companions also had the mushrooms whilst the other had scampi. All of us enjoyed our food. The atmosphere is lovely in this spacious well heated establishment. I will return here again and I would highly recommend it. Looking forward to going for an evening meal the next time.

As The Elphin is quite local to us, we go here for a drink regularly and have probably eaten here now about 4 or 5 times. And every time we are amazed about the quality and quantity of the food! Everything we have tried on the menu so far was absolutely delicious, all homemade and large portions. I would highly recommend the sole or the fillet steak with homemade onion rings, to die for! Atmosphere is good and service is great, it's done up nicely which gives the place a classy feel, definitely a step up from your average pub. And the food is absolutely not pub-grub, but 4-star quality so we will definitely keep coming back here!

Called in here for a drink and the food looked and smelled so good, we stayed for dinner. We both got the Sirloin steak with fat chips. Absolutely delicious. Service and staff are really friendly and efficient. Not the cheapest but well worth it :). We'll definitely return

Waiting for your Sunday lunch in the Elphin begs to ask the question "where is my food??" Well the aswer is "It's worth the wait" Not just any roast chicken dinner but a whole chicken on your plate small but whole! Beautifully cooked and served with bountiful veg and mash any Irish mammy would be proud of. Lamb shank the size of a small country, it's meat tenderly falling off the bone served by very amiable staff. I almost hate to sullen the memory of the whole roast chicken with the following word, however, CHIPS to die for, well at least drive a while to get to. Previous visit with friends with children begged the question "why not put more thought into the childrens menu?" Kids are people to and like a nice bite other than 'everything deep fried with CHIPS' Oh those CHIPS A little over the regular pub lunch price but worth it.
