I visited Bombay House as a party of 4 to try the Sunday Lunch menu. It wasn't my first time visiting. I had previously eaten here from the A La Carte, Early Bird and take away menus. On this particular occasion we were the only party in the restaurant. There was no atmosphere and it was cold. But, we knew the food was usually very good. We all ordered from the set lunch menu. 3 of us ordered chicken dishes, one lamb, for our mains. 3 of us received lamb dishes. I was very disappointed as I don't particularly like lamb. When I pointed out the error I was asked "Is the lamb ok or will I change it?" What a strange way to address the issue. Whether the lamb was ok or not really wasn't the point. We had the lamb as I didn't want to extend our visit any longer than necessary. We received an apology justified by the fact that one lamb order led to the waitress getting confused!! In an empty restaurant I really couldn't justify this. Previously we had poor service when ordering take away and there is never much of an atmosphere in the restaurant. Nothing was deducted from our bill and no complimentary dish/drink was offered as compensation. It's a shame that we probably won't revisit as the food is good and we live around the corner. Unfortunately there is no excuse for poor service in an empty restaurant.

We went here as I had a voucher and had heard that some of the staff were from a place that we use to go. I have to say it was very good value for the standard of food we got unlike some other places we had used vouchers. We both enjoyed the experience and will return again.
