We go here a lot the food is always great. The staff are always very nice. The tables at the bar for eating are good the only thing I would say is that the tables at the front are very very close together and could do with one less 2 seater in each line.

Went to go here today with my family who are over from the USA and also my 6 week old baby. But to my surprise, there was a big note up on the door saying buggies and prams weren't allowed inside or outside due space issue!!! This is absolutely disgraceful. Never seen the likes of it and other restaurants allot smaller in the same street couldn't have been more friendly and welcoming. Blue bar is actually bigger than most of the restaurants in Skerries!!! It wasn't that busy, it was a Tuesday afternoon, and your turning away people for having a pram! total discrimination. Also saw another couple who wanted to go there too, they were looking at the menu, traveled from northern Ireland for 2 nights, and couldn't believe it when they saw the sign. I really think you should rethink this disgraceful policy you have.

I would have previously called myself a fan of Blue Bar in Skerries, but this was the second consecutive visit where the quality that was previously there was missing. On arrival we stood beside a family that were turned away even though there were empty tables - which incidentally weren't filled later either. We were then told that we would have at least a 20 minute wait - we got a table within 5 minutes. One of our party ordered the cannelloni and was told that it wasn't available so she ordered an alternative - the pulled pork. However the waitress came back and said we have one cannelloni left would you like it? Excited my friend said yes please. Almost a full hour later when we eventually received our food - there was no cannelloni we were simply told that a mistake had been made. Disappointing didn't come close. Were were offered one free dessert by way of apology. It seemed that the day we were there (15th July) there was utter chaos both among the waiting staff and the kitchen staff. The waiting staff didn't know what the kitchen staff were doing and vice versa. One of the party even witnessed two members of staff in the kitchen fighting. Well and truly a disappointing visit

I like the atmosphere and the views,we go there if we are out for a walk in Skerries. Few times we were out there but they could not accommodate us and we had to leave as all tables were fully booked even if the restaurant was empty.

Went here on a cold Sunday 2nd november at 3.30 with my wife and 2 kids ,told we would wait upstairs for about 30 mins ,no problem ,they called us for our dinner at and brought us to a room out the back which was like a overflow room with just 4 tables no atmosphere and it was cold ,so i asked the witress could we please be moved inside anywere ,she said we would have to wait again upstairs but we were fisrt on the list but it should not be long ,30 minutes later there was no sign of us being called so i went downstairs and asked what the problem was and i was told that there was still no booth available !! i did not ask for a booth i asked to be moved inside as we did not come to this nice restaurant to be put in a overflow room then she said oh then you can have a seat up the front (brilliant ) a table after 1 hour waiting ,when our dinner finally arived the food was very good , the chicken wings are great and we all had burgers and the atmossphere is great , but a shame about being left waiting for 1 hour which took the shine of the day .

i liked 'blue' because of the their select beer options...and de food: from my salt and chilli squid starter to my chilled 'duvel' beer; from my delish homemade cheese burger to the autumnal harbour view. visitation rights? no reservations necessary – we just turned up and enjoyed ourselves. sure, sometimes there's a queue - but the high turnover meant we weren't long waiting for our table. instead we relaxed on the balconied smoking area with perfect margaritas, basking in the sunset. starters don't come better than that! one more memory: the prices didn't hurt – and the generous helpings also fit the bill...

Took some Belgians to the Blue Bar simply because we needed to eat after driving from Limerick. We were all very pleasantly surprised at the quality of both the food and the service. There is plenty of atmosphere but our priority was food, good food and plenty of it. Portions were generous and prices very acceptable! Service was really good and friendly. Belgians wondered commented on how genuine the friendliness was compared to their experience in the US where it seemed so put on!

I really like Blue and it's somewhere my husband and I go whenever we can. However in the last year or so every time we go for something in particular (like their buffalo wings for instance) they're different or scrawny or the portion is smaller.....consistency would be the main issue I would have. You can't book so when you go there you are always taking the chance that you may or may not actually eat there depending on the wait! I don't find them particularly accommodating for children so we skip there for that and keep it strictly for mammy and daddy and enjoy some of their yummy cocktails as a result. When I was pregnant and we asked for a virgin cocktail (seabreeze I think) they refused to make it as they were busy and said they would but we'd have to pay full price........that nearly made me not go back but then maybe that was just one lazy bar person.

I've been going to Blue since it opened, but unfortunately, it has been on a steady slope down in terms of quality, while the price continues to rise. The service, no matter how busy, is always excellent, and a prompt queue for tables where you can sit at the bar and wait. The food was a bit of a disappointment, my burger was dry and the chips were slightly under cooked. For the price I paid, I was very disappointed. The wings haven't changed, which is a major plus a they are divine, and having the option of junior wings is nice too. I felt the wine by the glass was expensive for the quality also. I know you pay a premium on the harbor for good views etc. but I think they have gone a bit too far for plain pub-grub.

If you're in Skerries, be sure to get to a large but friendly eaterie, Blue bar. Always professional, Blue overlooks Skerries harbour, with views that go from fresh and breezy daytimes to twinkling lights on the sea at night. This particular visit was a Tuesday evening. The place was hopping with a mixed clientele wanting to sample the full bar, delicious hot food, teas and coffees that an excellent staff deliver promptly. On this occasion, my server was friendly, capable, knowledgeable, and professional. With tea, I enjoyed a huge Sticky Toffee pudding with extra caramel sauce and ice-cream on the side. I usually enjoy the extremely generous Ploughman's lunch - a fresh and generous plate of cold meat, cheese, relish, delicate pickled onions, and a salad garnish, all served with a few slices of thickly-cut brown bread. Super-fresh, super-filling, super-tasty. However, I have enjoyed most of the dishes and have always found great flavour, quality, and value for money. I dine in Blue bar every couple of months for three years now - lunches, evening meals, with kids, and without. Time after time, the hardworking staff never fail to bring out beautiful starters, mains and desserts - even if you're in for a quick cuppa or a pint, this place is a gem!
