Had a lovely meal here on Sunday of the Bank Holiday. Restaurant was very busy, great atmosphere. Food was fab. We were a group of 6 and we had a taste of everything from prawns to beef to chicken to duck and I can recommend it all. No complaints at all. Service was excellent and even though it was very busy, the staff were very helpful and nothing was a problem. Well worth a visit but I would be sure to book at table.

We went for confirmation dinner mid week in March, group of 15, 1 vegetarian, 1 coeliac, 3 children, Can't compliment the staff and service enough, They were more than helpful in helping us order for large group. The food was great, perfect variety, every dish was fab, not one complaint. Would definitely recommend and book again.

I came here before Christmas for a group meal. The service was very fast and friendly and the staff were very attentive and well able to cater to a large size group. The dish I ordered wasn't that nice though and felt a bit greasy. Other people in the group enjoyed there food so perhaps I didn't order the right thing but I have to give an honest review! Otherwise, it's good value for money.

Service was possibly the worst I have experienced. Not only was it unacceptably slow, on several occasions staff got requests wrong, or forgot them

I have only been here once. I went with my partner to celebrate. I didn't find there was much of an atmosphere. Felt almost awkward in the place. But in saying that the food we order was very well cook and prepared. There was no delays with food coming out. It really came out very promptly. Myself and my partner had went for then early bird which is €20 for a 3 course meal ( sounds like an amazing deal- cant go wrong) but what we found was the price of the drinks really pushed up the total price of the bill. We both weren't impressed with that at all considering between us we had 3 beers.

Although not my originally intended destination myself and my girlfriend enjoyed a rather pleasant evening in the Orchid restaurant. What attracted us into the Orchid was their excellent 19 euro early bird menu advertised on the window. Once inside we were warmly greeted and shown immediately to our table. The décor was warm and cosy. However perhaps most impressive was the broad selection of dishes available on the early bird menu. The service was efficient but at no point did we feel like we were being rushed. The meal began with the customary prawn crackers which didn't disappoint and certainly didn't last long. We were even given complimentary seconds which was much appreciated. The starters were both well presented and delicious. I had the honey barbecued spare ribs and despite not being any stranger to Chinese cuisine I must admit they were some of the best I have ever had. The main course arrived promptly and the accompanying fried rice was served onto our plates by the waiter which we felt was a nice touch. The dishes were kept warm with a hotplate. I had the chicken curry and even though the portion was not overly generous I was left fully satisfied. All in all, a lovely evening out at an affordable price. We will definitely be back.

I've been itching to find a good Chinese restaurant for a while now, and I think with the Orchid, I've found it. The two of us went in on spec on a Wednesday night, and were lucky to get the last table. Service is fast and friendly, and the menu is varied with all the usual favourites. Although we didn't venture far into the wine list, it looked good, and the two glasses of house red we ordered were very good indeed. For starters, we had won ton soup and chicken satay, mains were House Special Chow Mein and Chicken in Cashew nuts with rice. Although the portions were not overly big, the food was big on taste, hot and delicious. I marked down on atmosphere and on value - the restaurant space is small-ish, and we could hear the conversations of those around us which made for a distracting time as one couple were busy fighting. We both remarked that the prices were on the high side. Our dinner totalled 66 euros (two starters, two mains, two glasses of house red, and an orange juice). However, the food and service were so good, we will definitely be back.
