Niall Keating is their talented and dynamic chef. Formerly of Shanahan’s on the green, roly’s bistro and la stampa on Dawson st, he brings a really strong vision of what eating out should be – an equal measure of great food, great wine and great company.
His food philosophy is based on what he cheerfully refers to as “a lack of interference”.
“I’ve been to so many restaurants in Ireland and abroad where the food was completely and utterly over-prepared. I believe that if you’ve got the very best ingredients, you need to let them be the star of the show, cooking them as simply as possible and making sure that their inherent taste and flavor aren’t overpowered by snobbish ‘cheffery’ and nonsensical presentation.”
“I also believe that the formula for a great menu is a combination of the new and the old. So you’ll find that a number of our signature dishes are a permanent fixture on our menus – but we constantly offer new and exciting dishes that are inspired by the best of international cusine from around the globe.”

Party of 2, birthday lunch. Food as always was very tasty. We had the burger and a duck salad. Excellent staff, lovely location. One of the most popular restaurants in Malahide.

Overall great food and service however what let it down was that they kept running out of beer.

Got a steak, found it very meet to be not the best quality and the side of bacon was burnt and tiny. I wasn't overly keen, not sure I would return. Also, there is a sign outside advertising early bird, as there was no end time noted in it we thought it must be all night Thursday. It wasn't until we sat down and asked about it that the waitress said it was no longer on, even though the early bird menu was given to us at the back of the main menu.

Party of 2 - called in without a booking for lunch. Although they were quite busy there was no problem getting a table. As usual the service were very attentive. We both had the Aussie burger and skinny chips. The food was beautiful, a very large portion, almost suitable for 2 :). I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. It is one of the best in Malahide.

Even though menupages had not passed on my booking to McGovern's they accommodated us, lucky for us they had a table for us until 8pm & following a cancellation we were able to stay on as long as we liked. The food was beautiful, the staff were very attentive and friendly and the prices great value. It is our group's favourite restaurant.

Had lunch, lovely crispy duck salad. It was very quiet and lots of room today. Good value for money and the salad was very tasty.

A friend & I came for a meal without a booking - there was no problem and we did not feel in any way rushed. We had the Italian burger and the BBQ burger which we both really enjoyed. It is one of the most popular places to eat in Malahide and I thoroughly recommend it.

Brought my son here with the family for his 13th birthday and everyone loved it. The atmosphere was cosy. The staff couldn't be more attentive. Portion sizes are very generous especially the burgers. They are to die for. Excellent value for money. Will definitely be returning very soon.

We called in for lunch and although the restaurant was very busy, they accommodated us without a booking. As the portions are so big we had the bacon sandwich and fries between us. It is one of my favourite places to dine in Malahide and I strongly recommend it for dining at any time of day.

We went here for a late lunch/early dinner and both really enjoyed it. Staff were extremely friendly and efficient. Himself had the steak and said it was cooked to perfection and onion rings that came with it were very tasty. I had the falafel wrap which was nice but a bit more choice for vegetarians would have been good. Soup and pate were both excellent. Mentioned to the waitress that we are getting married on sat and they gave us a lovely dessert with hearts on it complimentary which was a lovely touch. Will definately return.
