This is a lovely smart restaurant in the middle of all the Malahide pubs. It was a late booking they took and looked after us very well. It is good value for money and best of all good portions. I look forward to going back. It is not cheap but it is cheerful. (Irish Coffee was average)

A small authentic piece of Italy in a superb location. myself and my partner have ate here many times. From the moment you step into the small hall you are greated by a mouth watering wine showcase and the building transforms into what can only be described as a small Italian rustic cottage with beemed ceilings and glowing burning stove surrounded by a abundance of wine bottles ready for serving.nStaff are always helpful and have often had long chats with us after our meal is finished.nThe food is exceptional both in taste and in presentation. if your looking for food presented to you that looks like it should be in a art gallery your in the wrong place. As any Italian food loves know it's supposed to be felt with the hands and played around with. as I always say if it looks like an Italian Momma made it then it's made right!!!nWine menu is large and as you'd expect there's an Italian storey behind every bottle!nI've recommended this resturant to over 50 people and every one has had good words to say about it.n

Very poor. Staff ignorant and need some etiquette training. Told bluntly no high chair available, no help offered to my wife with carrying buggy upstairs. My review seems to be mirrored by others. Good reviews seem self generated. Text over elaborated- writers almost at orgasm. Do you this the public reader is thick. Advice- go elsewhere. Food is passable but not the money

It was my first time to come here, and I went with a friend. I would definitely come again. It is so easy to go to any Italian restaurant, with a bit of pasta, but this place is different. They have the pasta cooked to perfection, and I could tell good ingredients went into the sauce, not just some cream or cheese poured in, or sun dried tomato put in. Each of the ingredients had flavour, and it was just sooooo nice! The price was reasonable, and I loved the service. It was kind of slow service, but not too slow. We could really relax thanks to the lovely atmosphere, and gorgeous food and service. Staff were friendly, but not overly friendly. Just genuine.

Thoroughly enjoyed the food, the only issue I had was no alcopops, I was initially told by our server I couldn't bring in from the pub downstairs but I asked the owner/manager and he was very accommodating. Will defo visit again

Seen alot of reviews for this restaurant and i am very pleased to have went and tried it. The staff was very pleasant and friendly, very welcoming. The atmosphere was perfect not too loud. Me and the girls had gone for dinner that night. Starters i had the gnocci, it was delicious, very fresh tasting. Mains i had salmon, beautifuly cooked very moist and flaky, chips were amazing, you could tell they were hand cut. Not too expensive either. I highly recommend this restaurant of your in need of good authentic italian food!

Disappointing. Staff pleasant and friendly but the quality of food was very poor. There is much better value in almost every restaurant in Malahide. Starters for two adults and two teenagers---Gnocchi was awful smothered in gloopy sauce. Bruschetta and wings were fine. Mains --Lasagne--Awful--full of cheese sauce and little else. Salmon--overcooked and dry----Pasta with sirloin and tomato---1oz sirloin at the most cut to the thickness of a ball of wool topped with the same sauce and lots of pasta, Carbonara okay--just. The food would have been acceptable if the price reflected the quality but it did not. Paid euro 115. 00 (Earlybird for two)including 2 bottles of beer and a carafe of house wine and 2 sprite. Maybe e25 extra is not a lot but it is awful to come away from a meal out ( which is a big deal for most of us) and feel cheated.

Like a previous reviewer I was very surprised at the number of 4 and 5 star reviews for this restaurant. The food was truly awful, something like a 70s idea of what an Italian restaurant should be. I got gnocchi for starter which came smothered in a thick layer of hot bubbling cheese. The tomato sauce was thick, gloopy and tasted of nothing resembling tomatoes. The same sauce appeared again on my main course of ravioli and on my partners pizza. I don't understand how restaurants like Il Sorisso continue to be in business when they charge high prices for below average food. The service was quite indifferent. I had to ask twice for the bill and eventually had to pay at the bar where the staff were happily chatting to each other. Would not recommend and I will be voting with my feet!

Went out for a Saturday night dinner with the girls.Decided on Some Italian food, Had a choice between Il Sorriso and Giovannis and im really pleased we picked this place. Very friendly, cozy and Italian inside. The Service was fast and friendly, made you feel like family. The food was magnificent and delicious. I had the seafood risotto , i could tell the fish was fresh. The girls had steak and pasta, The food looked Fabulous. Not too Loud And not too quiet inside. The chef did a amazing job at presentation and taste wise on the food. Great value for your money!. Definitely recommend this place.

Very surprised at all the 4 and 5 star reviews on this place. Atmosphere not great - very dark room, food awful, really bland and drowned in sauce. I had the ravioli and would have done a better job when I started out cooking first. Husband went for simple lasagna, covered in cheddar, and friend had pizza, said bread was really tough. Anyone who knows anything about food, would not rate this overpriced Italian. This is why we get this sort of food and service, because people keep going back to these sort of places. Not us! When we saw the menu, we decided to play safe with dishes we choose and they could not even do that much!

I took some French friends here last Friday night. It was ok, not great, not bad but nothing to get excited about. Service was a little indifferent. the food was tasty. The restaurant doesn't do a lot to entice you back.

I wouldn't go back again. Didn't feel very welcome by the person serving us; my main of chicken with pasta in a spicy tomato sauce was below average and the pasta was extremely overcooked. Pizza was okay.
