I went to the Malahide branch of GFP last month. The waiter forgot my order, forgot my daughters drink and we had to wait 45 minutes for our starter. The restaurant was busy and the waiter was apologetic, so I decided to try it again for breakfast last week. The manager is the rudest man I have ever met. So much so, that my family and I left the restaurant without eating our food. I will NEVER go back here and I would strongly advise people to avoid this place at all costs. Malahide has plenty of other restaurants, which are not as expensive, and have friendly staff that appreciates your custom. Very disappointing.

I usually rave to friends about GFP Malahide but didn't really enjoy this visit. It was busy but myself and my son were seated straight away. The service was friendly and prompt as usual but I was a little disappointed with the food. I nearly always order the calamari here and it usually comes with a lovely side salad and some spicy sauce but this time it was 4 rings of calamari in a mini deepfry basket on a paper napkin with a mini dish of garlic mayo, no side salad, not even a lemon wedge - the portion size used to be 5 rings so this has been scaled back too. My son fared better with his burger and he shared some with me - it was tasty enough although the burger itself was a bit heavy, we both loved the brioche bun. My son decided to order raspberry roulade for dessert - you could see the disappointment on his face when the tiniest sliver about 1cm deep arrived with a little star of whipped cream for garnish - especially as customers on a neighbouring table were being served with very generous slices of cheesecake. With a soft drink, a coffee (very nice as usual) and a glass of cabernet sauvignon the bill was about €36. On our way home my son mentioned that dessert was meant to have ice cream with it - I checked the menu myself and this appears to be the case. Coincidentally the restaurant page shows a delicious looking pile of calamari complete with side salad and spicy sauce. I appreciate that they were very busy with a large group right beside us but I won't be rushing back which is a shame as its only a few minutes walk away and I and my family and freinds have nearly always enjoyed our visits here.

Brought my mother here for brunch. We stood by the [wait to be seated] sign for a few minutes while being ignored by staff and eventually sat down ourselves and asked for a menu. The staff were polite but way too formal. They were also few on numbers so we waited again for our order to be taken. Our tea and coffee arrived promptly and we then had to wait 30 minutes for our food. My mothers poached eggs were cold although the rest of her food was hot. I had the vegetarian breakfast and the potato cake was awful. Dense and soggy. It's a lovely space and well decorated but I don't think I'll be rushing back.

Very nice restaurant. Loved the atmosphere and the Calamari by far the best in Dublin. Did not love the antipasti it was pricey and a little disappointing. The pomegranate lemonade YUM! Service was --ok-- a little too slow!

Had initially gone to the Gourmet Food Parlour back in Januaury and the experience had not been the best. However after speaking with the manager we decided to give it another try and I am so glad that we did as it was a completely different experience the second time around. The food and service were great and the atmosphere was very relaxed and chilled out-there was no rushing to get back tables or any of that lark and the food was served in very good time. I have to say that we had a very enjoyable evening and I would highly recommend this place if you just want to chill out with some good food and wine. It seems that they have ironed out any teething problems that they had. We will definitely be back soon.

Went for brunch here with my wife and toddler on Saturday. We waited to be seated, as per the sign. After 5 minutes of standing around and watching the staff chat amongst themselves we decided to sit at a free table and got a high chair. The waitress, who looked like she'd just heard her dog had been run over, brought the menus and the food arrived soon afterwards. I had the croquemadame which was delicious, plenty of skinny chips and salad. My wife got a scone and, as she cut into it, the whole scone crumbled apart. The manageress saw this happening and assured us that the scone was fresh. She didn't offer to replace it. Croquemadame aside, this was quite a poor experience and we won't be rushing back. It's no surprise the waitress was miserable as customer service starts at the top and it's severely lacking here.

very disappointed, went on a saturday night with a voucher that included choice of 3 tapas and 2 glasses of wine ,the waiteress suggested we should order a potato dish as well as the 3 tapas that we ordered,we did this but were disappointed to see that she choose to charge for the more expensive tapas and put the patatas bravas as one of the tapas on the voucher, glass of wine was very small but when we ordered another glass not on the voucher it was much larger, felt it was poor value for money even on a voucher, will never return for tapas e

Second of two very recent visits. 1st for tapas , 2nd for lunch. Service is pleasant but slow. Simple things need attention like bringing cutlery before food and serving all an order promptly rather than in stages. Fine if you are not in a hurry and live music during tapas was pleasant and an massive improvement on piped music!

Unfortunately we found our experience at the Gourmet Food Parlour very disappointing. We had bought a voucher for the evening tapas and went along with a very open mind. It started off well with a great setting and the arrival of our first two courses which were fine (not anything to write home about but fine). Unfortunately from there on in it went downhill. We had to wait nearly an hour and a half from the time we had finished our first course to the time our second arrived and even when they arrived we didn't get everything. Again the food was okay but not amazing. We were not the only ones-nearly every table in the restaurant were complaining. I understand things happen and restaurants have bad nights but the waiting staff were really badly trained. Instead of going around and clearing the tables, explaining to the customers that there were problems in the kitchen and that their food would be delayed they hid away behind the counter cleaning glasses while people were left looking hungarily at their empty dirty plates. When our tapas finally arrived we were one dish short. This was my dish as the other two were for my partner. When we said it to the waiter he looked confused-it transpired that they had given it away to the table next to us. Another 15 minute wait and I was then informed that the last serviing of what I ordered had fallen on the floor and would I get something else instead. The staff dealt with the whole situation quite ineffectively. On the plus side the live music was great and its a lovely setting. Unfortunately there are too many great restaurants in Malahide which offer fantastic food and service for us to give this place another try.

Thoroughly recommend, I booked through menupages for a table for a family occaision, I got my confirmation email and later a phone call to check if there was anything else I needed help with. Our party was a mixture of adults and kids and I think we got the best table that suited us, very spacious. Both adults and kids loved the food and the staff were excellent. Very rarely submit reviews but thought this occaision deserved one.....Thanks!
