Lovely coffee but the table was dirty and was never wiped clean.

Haven't been to Coastal Cafe for a while because some time back I was really ill after eating the chicken wrap. But decided to go in there today because it is in a nice location and isn't bad inside. I ordered the Cajun Chicken and Guacamole Bagel which comes with a cup of soup and a garnish/salad on the side. The soup, carrot and coriander was good. The little bit of salad was fresh and not swimming in dressing. The bagel was disastrous. Instead of being toasted, it was burned inside. The chicken was 'smothered' in a sticky spicy sauce which was overpowering and rendered the chicken non-existent and the dish impossible to eat as there was sauce everywhere. It tasted as if it had come straight out of a barbecue sauce bottle. The bagal was topped with little matchsticks of what looked like courgette but the matchsticks were unripe (grass green) avo. Inside the bagel were a few blocks of avo (about a teaspoon) which was so green that it could be cut into blocks. So much for the guacamole! Won't be back in a hurry. The place needs a proper manager to sort the place out.

Seems like lovely cafe and has great menu and the food was quite good. However, the service was appalling. It was very quiet yet tables were dirty and ashtrays outside not emptied. The waiter did not greet us but just gave us menus with no hello / welcome. Waiter did not bring our drinks with our meal, when I reminded him he got them, but forgot the milk. It was not busy, these are the basics! When I went to pay there were 2 mistakes on my bill, I was charged twice for drinks and had an extra bowl of soup on the bill. Nice food, great atmosphere, but would not go back for bad and unfriendly service.

Went here for breakfast with hubby and son for Father's day. Quiet at first but nice buzzy atmosphere as it got busier. Son had two giant pancakes with chocolate sauce - he couldn't finish them, there was so much. He also had a glass of orange juice. I had a delicious fruit scone which was served warm with butter jam and cream. Hubby had pancake breakfast - two large pancakes with bacon sausage egg etc - it was delicious but perhaps some maple syrup would have moistened the pancakes a little - he ate every scrap anyway. Two lattes (delicious, hot and not too much foam) brought the bill to about €26 - not cheap but good value for the quality and quantity of food. I would definitely come here again - perhaps in the evening as they do wine by the glass and tapas/platters which I would love to try.

Had a quick lunch here on Saturday and it was pleasant. As with most cafes the tables are too small and the place is quite cramped but the service was efficient and swift and food was to a good standard. slightly pricey but the place was busy and it was 3pm after the main rush. Will stop in again if Im i the area

A pretty little coffee and wine bar in Malahide with lovely staff and a stylish look. Right in the centre of Malahide, we had a bottle of wine and sat outside. Really enjoyable and relaxing

Popped in for a lunch snack. Nice little place, if a small bit dark. Decent selection, nice staff. Paninis were a little lame, which was a shame. Good coffee! We'll revisit and try something different as the welcome and service was good. I suspect there are plenty of things on the menu which are hits, as there was no shortage of customers.
