Went with a big group. The service and food both were excellent for a great price!

We were regular visitors of the Porterhouse North so when it got revamped into a restaurant we knew we'd have to eat there. The menu looked a little strange for the location, plus I'm a fussy eater so octopus tentacles and the likes don't really appeal to me but there was a burger on the menu so I was happy enough to try. My boyfriend ate the steak and said it was beautiful, the quality of the food is great which in a way justifies the higher price range. The burger was great too, following the latest trend of huge burgers too big to hold but still really well cooked and presented. I can't fault the food here, if there's something on the menu that appeals to you no doubt it'll be of the highest quality but I still found it a strange building for such a restaurant. It's large and although there's an upstairs, the area which used to be the dance floor has a high ceiling with the bar in the centre and access from both side of the room, the upstairs area runs along the side wall. I just felt like the atmosphere was strange. It still feels like a nightclub so a very fancy restaurant is out of place. I would visit again for the quality of the food but I'd really appreciate some more regular dishes on the menu, given the location pizza/pub grub wouldn't go amiss.
