This restaurant is one of our favourites for casual dining and we can bring the kids as it is quite. Unfortunately it doesn't attract the crowds it deserves but food and service excellent.

Visited Tibors on a whim for a late lunch/early dinner and was very happy with our experience. To start I had the goats cheese & parma salad which was delicious and very well rounded off with some sweet balsamic. Herself had crab claws to start which were absolutely delicious although if we had to fault it, it could have done with a slice or two of bread to compliment it. For the mains I had the salmon with red pepper pesto and dill mousse. The salmon was delicious, succulent on the inside and a thin crispy layer on the outside. The mousse and pesto were also delicious. My partner had the fishcakes which came with a sweet pepper relish and sweet potato fries. The fish cakes were very tasty and the fries were some of the best we ever had. The staff were very friendly and attentive throughout the meal and were also very accommodating of the fact that we had a baby. Will definitely be returning.

We had dinner in Tibor's Bistro last night (October Bank Holiday Monday) and all I can say is WOW. They have a new menu which is great value - 2 courses for €20 or 3 courses for €25 We opted for 2 courses and a bottle of the house red (great value at €16) For starter I had the fish cake which was so flavoursome, my Mother had the fish plate and it was so tasty. Enough to share for 2 people. For main I had the beef ribs... the nicest I have ever tasted! The meat fell off the bone and was so tender, even though it was a huge portion and wanted more! The mash potato was perfect and the caramelised onion a delicious addition. My Mother had the fish and chips, and she loved it - I didn't even get a taste she enjoyed it so much! A very generous portion also. The service was second to none, our waiter was very attentive and helped us with our selection. We felt we got great value for our money and left very satisfied. We are both looking forward to our next visit which I hope will be sooner rather than later!

Myself and 3 friends ate in Tibors on a Sunday afternoon. From the beginning the service was terrible. We were waiting for one person and told the waiter so and we were asked three times for our order before our friend arrived. I ordered a goats cheese and pecan salad and it arrived with no pecans. The waiter never came back to ask if everything was okay so when I eventually got his attention he didnt even respond, walked away and came back and said they had none. They should have just told me to begin with and it wouldnt have been a problem. We had to ask for water 3 times. My friends meal came with veg but it never came and we asked again and were ignored. My main came with coleslaw which didnt come and had to ask again, and then the waiter flung it onto the table with no comment. He never responded verbally to any request at all in fact. Two of our mains were cold and one of the salads with mayo was left under the heat lamp. Very unfriendly staff and very poor service. I will not be going back.

We hadn't booked but we were eating on the early bird so they found us a table. The restaurant wasn't busy at that stage but when we were leaving at about 8.30 they had got very busy. The early bird menu had good choices and we got plenty of attention before they got busy. There was a nice selection of home made bread, and I got extra to go with the lovely carrot soup I had to start. Partner had mussels which looked plentiful and he was given a choice as to whether he'd like them cooked in cream or in a tomato base. He had chicken as a main and I had salmon which was a good portion well cooked and the presentation was good. We shared a cheese platter which was fine with a good selection of cheeses and nice biscuits. The only thing I'd have liked was some grapes. There was a family at the table beside and they seemed happy with the variety of food for the children. By the time we were leaving they were catering for a couple of large parties and despite being overstretched were still clearing tables promptly and attending to our needs. I hadn't eaten here for a while but will certainly be back soon as I had a lovely meal in nice surrounding with attentive staff and I could walk home afterwards. Who could ask for more?

We had a 5pm reservation and there were only 2 others in the restraurant so I would worry about what the future holds for Tibors. Not sure why there was so few there as the food is very good and the early bird menu is very good value. €23 for three courses with a reasonably good choice. The service was attentive and friendly. We will pop back in the future. Hopefully more people next time will help with the atmosphere.

We've now had lunch here a couple of times, and both times were very happy with our meal. Yesterday's lunch was excellent - perfect for a light Sunday lunch. We both had the most wonderful tomato soup to start, then I followed it with the fish special, which yesterday was grilled plaice with tiger prawns. Scrummy! Himself had chicken which he said was very good. We didn't bother with dessert as we were both full by then. Service was prompt and efficient, and the place has a nice friendly atmosphere, with unobtrusive music. We'll be back.

Top class service!. Seven of us went here sunday afternoon for a 3-course earlybird. One of the few places ive been to where the dinners were brought to right seats without the waiting staff having to ask "Who ordered the lamb shank?" etc. The options for the early bird were reasonable but could have been better for the starter i felt. The table we got was beside the window which was ideal for a large size group. Regarding the food the braised lamb shank fell of the bone and was excellent. The caesar salad i ordered was dissapointing as it had a type of fish flavour instead of the regular caesar salad sauce but that was my own fault i think because it was stated on the menu that it was a fish type dressing. The apple crumble desert was also dissapointing as there was no crumble to be seen and it was more of an apple sauce with custard. When i pointed this out the feedback was that it was the way it was meant to be but they kindly offered me an alternate desert. Really should take the word 'crumble' out then. I went for the icecream and sorbet sustitute which was delicious. Everyone else hit the bingo with their food and we all agreed it was a great experience dining here.

4 of us came here for dinner.... bit hit and miss!!!! steak was not good and was not cooked as i liked it but was quite rare, chips were nice and crispy - prawns pil pil were very white looking and lacked flavor, garlic was not enough and not toasted - the whole dish looked very unappealing. Bruschetta was good nice and crusty with good topping. Mussels a bit overcooked but nice white wine sauce. Service was good but not overly friendly and restaurant was only maybe half full so lacked a bit of atmosphere. Overall we would go back for a look but stick to the early bird or else its very expensive.

Came here for dinner with a friend and had the early bird menu of 2 courses for €20. Started with the mussels which I thought were fantastic in a garlic sauce. Sauce was a little oily but did not detract from the flavour. Had the steak for my main cooked exactly as ordered and this came with handcut fries and onion rings. The service was very good with the waiter being very attentive and friendly. Was great value for money.

8 of us had lunch on Saturday for a friend's 40th birthday. In general most were happy with the food. However the disaster of the day, and the reason I won't be returning, is this. I ordered bruschetta to start which looked nice until I spotted a hair in it. Called the waiter and he took it away with no apology. New dish brought fairly quickly. First bite nice & was about to take a 2nd bite when I spotted another hair! Called the waiter again and he took it away but I had to call him back to say that I didn't want another one, my stomach had flipped at that stage! When he came back to clear my friend's plates his response was: "Our chef has blonde hair so it must have been in the air". Would anyone find this response acceptable?? Plus I had to check the bill myself at the end of the day to make sure we weren't charged for this dish. When we handed the money over to a different waiter he said "you know you weren't charged for that starter" - bit late, they should have had the courtesy to point it out when the bill was presented! The service overall was not good. We were the largest group they had all day, virtually no one inside all day and only a few tables changing hands outside over the course of the day. Our total bill was over €500, so a lot of money spent. I was going to complain to the owner after our meal but she had left. We had already seen earlier that the waiter had alerted her to the problem with my starters. I hope she reads this review and does something about the service. No one can afford to be complacent in this day and age.
