I used to visit this cafe all the time, and went back today after a long hiatus. I was taken aback by how it had deteriorated. The food was indifferent. The "freshly squeezed" orange juice didn't taste fresh and tasted as if it had been diluted with water. Truly a sad deterioration of what used to be a very nice place to stop for a coffee and a bit while shopping.

Called for lunch and found a Very disappointing limited menu.Very small and poky . Decor tired. Constant demand for tables so was put under pressure to free up table. I wonder if there was any form of decent competition would it be so busy.

Visited for lunch. Friendly service. Food excellent. If there was a fault, it's that the portions were huge which doesn't suit everyone, but I will certainly return.

Food was average enough but the service was good, considering how busy the place was for lunch. Queue formed at the door so did feel we needed to rush a bit. Overall nice, but maybe a bit too small!!

lovely coffee, was there late in the afternoon and the smell of new dinners being cooked was tempting. The warm chocolate brownie was too good for words.

We went for the early bird on a Wednesday evening. The restaurant was reasonably busy and the decor and atmosphere were relaxed and intimate. Choices from the early bird menu are quite limited, there is a choice of 5 mains and 5 starters. However we decided there was enough to tempt us on this occasion. For starters I had the bruschetta, generous and very tasty. My girlfriend had the garlic mushrooms which were a little bland. For mains I had a seafood curry which was delicious and very substantial, while the other half had the steak baguette which she also liked. The bill came to 40 euro for 2 courses and a glass of wine each, which was very good value, although if we were to go again I dont think there are many alternatives on the menu to serve our tastes. However we couldnt fault the service or the intimate atmosphere. We would definitely go back if perhaps they offer some more variety the early bird menu

It doesn't look like much from the outside which is probably why it is Killester's best kept secret but this place really beats all others hands down. Fantastic fresh food, beautifully presented, great value wine and great staff. We've been for dinner on many occasions and have never been disappointed. They have daily yummy specials on offer but get there early to avoid disapointment.

Booked dinner for 3 here on a Friday night- very quiet which is sign of times I guess.Butternut squash soup was delicious and came with tasty homemade bread.Med salad and stuffed pepper starters both got thumbs up. The portion of chicken fajitas for main was generous as was the John Dory which was superb. The service is top class. There are special prices available at linchtime and special offers for 2 or 3 courses may attract more people in to this 'hidden' gem.

I leave nearby and have always thought that it is a cafe and thats what I went there for. My girlfriend decided to have americano and I had mocha, we ordered cakes as well. I dont remember which cakes but they were very well presented and delicious. It was Friday afternoon and we had a booking for dinner elsewhere later on, otherwise we would have stayed there since they do serve main courses as well to my surprise.

Went to the Nuthouse last Thursday for some lunch. We were not disappointed. We decided on panninis, mine was roasted vegetable and cheese. It was delicious. Very fresh and crispy, I sometimes find it can be hit or miss with paninnis but they got it spot on. The staff were really friendly and service was quick. Will be going back soon to sample the dinner meun.

We visited here last Friday evening for an evening meal. While the restaurant is very small, the food definitely makes up for it. From the look of the restaurant on the outside it just looks like a cafe but the food really is fabulous. I had the bruschetta to start which was really nice with a small side salad. For the mains i had the grilled cod and chips. This was lovely also, really good portions, not too much, just enough. we shared a lemon pie for dessert and this was really tasty. The service was excellent and there was no problem staying there to enjoy a glass of wine once finished dinner. I would definitely come back as the price was very reasonable and the food lovely. THe only very small thing was they had no signs on the toilets, i thought i was going into the kitchens!

Dropped in here for breakfast this morning. We had the poached eggs on toast and a mini breakfast. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Place small and a little cold but otherwise comfortable. Poached eggs were like rubber bullets unfortunately but the wheaten bread was delicious. The mini breakfast was very tasty and the accompanying relish was tasty. Lots of refills of tea which was nice. Small outdoor area for smokers, cold and in the shade though but handy to have. Overall small cafe style place, with lots of character and great staff. For a quick bite and cheap and cheerful food - you get what you pay for. Would go back.

Ate here again on Saturday morning. They do a lovely breakfast, lots of options, the bagels are very good. Have recently been here in the evening too. Was very suprised at how different it looked done up for the evening - not too bad. Desert, apple pie with ice cream, was a highlight for me.
