Delicious food - very poor service. 5 of us had dinner at the Fahrenheit Grill and it's a magnificent setting. Our food was excellent but the service was appalling. Starters arrived with small delay but we didn't mind because good food takes time. However we had a very long wait for our main course. Staff apologised for the delay but the offer of a complimentary drink would have been a nice gesture. Food eventually arrived and it was excellent but had obviously been under the heated lights or grill for a while. We were trying to attract the attention of staff to order another drink and I eventually had to leave the table and make my way to the bar. I was finally spotted by a staff member who brought a drink to one of our party. Table was cleared quickly and we were asked it we wanted to see the desert menu. We all said yes and it took 15 minutes to bring down the menus. Orders were taken and the long, long wait began. Other diners who ordered after us were served before us. We discussed asking them to cancel our order when it eventually arrived. It took 3 hours to have our meal and we had to cancel arrangements to meet friends after dinner as it was too late by the time we finished. Great food, fabulous surroundings but I'm afraid we won't be back.

Went here last Saturday with my mum for dinner. Throughout the meal we noticed a couple of things which we found unusual. Mistake 1: Ordered one glass of wine when ordering meal, wine arrived in time for main course, not starters. We were then informed by a girl in a suit that we would not be charged for the wine. Mistake 2: Confirmed with two different staff if we ordered the venison could we get it without mushrooms. The mushrooms came on the plate. Mistake 3: Young waiter placed side order in front of my mum so if she hadn’t held her own main plate it would have fallen off the table. Mistake 4: One waiter asked if we wanted coffees and as we were about to reply another waiter came along and said something to him and he left the table. The second guy then asked if we wanted coffees to which we replied we were about to order them but he walked off. We were then told the coffees would not be charged. Mistake 5: For some reason my mum’s chair was kicked three times by passing staff. During the evening another customer passed behind her without any kicking. Obviously mistakes 1 and 4 were acknowledged by the staff. The other mistakes are just bad or no training. The food is ok, nothing spectacular. The staff in Knights Bar and on reception are friendly and courteous but sadly the restaurant staff need to learn a bit more. The description of the restaurant says it is “regarded as one of the finest restaurants in Dublin”. Perhaps that should be amended to read otherwise as there are “finer’ restaurants in Clontarf, never mind Dublin.

Had the most amazing meal here I have had in a long time. I have eating here before and was not expecting the very high standard of food we received. Something has definitely changed for the better. Service was brilliant and nothing was too much trouble. It was a little quiet but then again it was early January mid week! Will definitely return

We had a lovely dining experience here. We had a opted for the package deal which included a three course meal, tea and coffee, and a glass of prosecco on arrival. The food was excellent and presented beautifully. Also a big thank you to Jamie who severed us on the evening and looked after us so well. M. Fay

We had the most amazing meal last night. The menu covered all tastes. The presentation of the most Devine food, meant I was eating eith my eyes, before I liked a fork! The service was impeccable and the ambiance with a fabulous pianist and singer was enhanced our experience! It was good value for a hotel meal. An experience we hope to enjoy, soon again!

Was here last night for my sister's 40th. There was 16 of us and every one of us had a great time. The food was delicious and the service was great. Because we were a big group we got the choice of either a set menu or the a la carte menu. I think nearly everyone ordered from the set menu as there was great choice on it. No bother bringing in a cake and the lovely singer even sang Happy Birthday. Great restaurant, we'll definitely be back.

I booked this restaurant for a family party of 10. It is a lovely environment and the food was nice. The majority of us had the t-bone steak which was good. However, the service was poor. We were waiting a long time for food and had to ask for bread as we were so hungry waiting. The staff were courteous but it wasn't too busy so I could not understand the delays.

I ate here with a group of work colleagues on a Thursday night and although the restaurant was a little quiet, we had a lovely table in the window - very atmospheric. Starters for us were a combination of soup, chowder and prawn cocktails, all of which were really well presented and very tasty. On to mains and without exception we ordered steak. Each person had theirs cooked exactly as requested and the accompaniments in the form of pepper sauce and other sauces and veg were all lovely. The selection of desserts was really good although having over-indulged on the steaks a bit, we mainly chose nice coffees and ice-cream. The service was really attentive and the bars in the hotel provided an ideal setting for pre (and post) dinner drinks. I'm looking for an excuse to get back to Clontarf so that I can go here again

We ate here for a Christmas staff get together. When the leader of our group was booking she was asked to pay a deposit as she was told it would be very busy. On arrival however it was a different matter altogether. We along with another similar sized party were the only people in the place. The service was very good. It was single handedly provided by an extremely pleasant gentleman. We all had a glass of mulled wine which was nice. For starters I had a soup which was tasty. Some of the party opted for the soup whilst others had mozzarella and tomato starter. For mains I along with a couple of the others had steak which two of us found a bit chewy. The vegetables that accompanied the mains were fine. The others mostly chose turkey and ham which looked alright however three of the party stated that they did not enjoy it. My white chocolate desert was fine however one of the party who had a cranberry and almond tart stated that it was too dry. I found the dining room lacked atmosphere and it was a tad cold on our visit. Based on todays visit I don't think I would return here.
