I was in the pub today and I sat at bar and I have to say pat is an exceptional barman very accomodating affecient and knew what he was doing. And Ashley floor staff was brilliant omg that girl is a credit to the goblet. It was great to see them at work very down to earth and very friendly and helpful to the young and elderly which is needed these days

I have to say went here for new years eve. arrived around 6.45 our order was taken and food arrived before 7 and that was grand being new years eve and very busy. we had our main course finished before 7.30 and that was grand, but had to wait another 30min(8.00) before we could get one of the staffs attention to place a dessert odder and it was 50min later(8.50) when we desided to get up and leave we had to wait another 10 min with our coats on before we could get the staffs attention to pay. when she seen us ready to leave she went and got our desserts and brought it out to us ...we turned it down after now been sitting for an hour and a half waiting for it.....I never review a place and most places if they are ok I am happy enough with that...but this was the worst ...then complained in a private message on facebook and they seen the message and after reading it marked it as unread like they didn't want to know about it,i replied again and the same thing happened....not interested and I think that sums up our meal they just where not interested. one very upset customer!

Restaurant is lovely but the menu needs updating, food is too heavy even though it is cooked to perfection, menu needs to include a nice pasta or rice dish. But great value. Staff are very friendly.

This €50euro deal is the best value for money around. Two COurse Meal for 2 + Bottle of Wine. Excellent Food. Great Desserts. Needs a little work on atmosphere but well worth a visit.

Food was fantastic, service could have been better, would definitely recommend the crab cakes starter and the tarragon chicken and lime mains

Food has become very bad (carvery) meat is very fatty and also have risen their prices. Cost us nearly e50 for 2 adults and 1 child portion and a baby bowl (with minerals)

Had lunch here on saturday with my sister. She had the vegetable soup and was pleasantly surprised that it was actually homemade. It came with two thick slices of seeded brown bread. I had a roast pork sandwich with stuffing. The pork was tasty and not dried up the way carvery meat often is. We saw people eating dinner portions of food and the plates were loaded with food. It is what it is pub grub food but decent and generous amounts of it. The lady who brought our food to the table was very nice as well. Overall it seems like good value.

I used to lunch in the Goblet quite a lot but have virtually stopped recently due to the portions. They took on a new chief a few months back & the portions he dishes out are a disgrace, he has no problem leaving gaps on your plate and ignores you when you ask for plenty of something. The chips have also changed to those straw fries form real chips!! It used to be a great spot and I just hope they wake up and start giving there customers better value! The quality of the food is very good and the bar staff are great but sort the portions & I'll be back!!

I have to say it was the best meal I have had in a long long time. I choose from the al la carte menu, we both had filet steak, it came with herb mash, carmelised onions, and creamed spinach. It was absolutely melt in the mouth delicious. Our deserts were meringue with fresh strawberries and cream, and a raspberry cheesecake. yum yum I normally never do a review on menu pages but this was worth the effort. Staff are great, friendly nice relaxed atmosphere, will definitely be back.

Myself and mam had a quick lunch here yesterday. We both had the soup of the day which was Homemade Vegetable Soup - €4.25 which came with brown bread. It was tasty and filling. The atmosphere was that of an average pub and the service was very good and staff were friendly, although nothing to write home about i might pop in for another lunch but it did not entice me to go back for dinner.
