Bad value for money (breakfast is expensive and DOESNT include tea/coffee)... service poor, had to walk to desk after 10 mins to get a menu.... umbrella bin full of litter. Staff at cash register grumpy when paying. Food and ambience ok.

Quirky furniture, friendly staff. Enjoyed a lovely brunch here with my boyfriend. Great value for money, I would recommend the French toast

Average food, portions small for a meat platter, service ok. Won't be back.

I can safely say this is the worst salad I have ever had. A bowl of chickpeas, with a few chopped pieces of raw onion, and a limp coriander leaf. Completely tasteless. The waitress was friendly, but the cafe is understaffed and therefore service was very slow. €6 for a bowl of porridge must surely be the most expensive in town. Definitely won't be back

Had a very disappointing experience in this cafe at lunch time. Service is incredibly slow and lazy and the food is not good value. It used to be nice but has really gone down hill

I went there for dinner with 5 of my friends on Thursday evening. 2 of us had the soup which was really nice. The others girls ordered main courses such as vegetarian risotto, salmon and chicken with barley/spinach. The menu was quite small but we all really enjoyed our food. Given that there were only few other people there, the service was however pretty slow. I will definitely go back there for lunch.

My girlfriend and I dined here on sunday afternoon... It's a nicely decorated establishment and the menu was great. Service was a tad slow as we had to wait to be given menus and a table that entered after us were served before us (slightly annoying) However the breakfast was delicious, great coffee and the fact that we had a voucher meant we didnt have a bill to pay at the end. I definitely recommend this little gem and I can't wait to get back and try lunch!

2nd time there and what a disappointment!I ordered the same sandwich as the previous time but it didn't come as a wrap so that there was more bread than filling :-( My friend ordered white bread and the waiter came back wih brown bread...I really think it went downhill, what a pity but I won't be back!

This place is absolutely charming. Gorgeous decor and pretty tableware. Just had coffee and cake but the coffee was perfect, one of the nicest Mochas I've had anywhere. I had a huge scone with lashings of jam and cream and my husband had an enormous slice of cake, again with a mountain of cream on the side. All in all, a very good experience.

The setting is really nice, ie the china, seats,it,etc...The place was not even half full but the friendly waitresses took ages to come and take our orders...I had to ask for water twice and our coffee/tea came before our combo/soup.The soup- aubergine was tasteless on the not good side- but the sandwiches were lovely and huge. All in all, a very mixed review as there is deffo some potential, the place is not understaffed so maybe we didn't come on a good (soup) day? Will give it another try!

Ate here twice in the last week, both for lunch and dinner. I'd passed by The Bell & Pot a few weeks ago, thinking to myself it was just another hipster cafe, but interested none the less to see what it was like. My first venture for lunch quickly cleared up any misgivings I had regarding hipsters. The staff were prompt, efficient and friendly, creating a pleasant causal dining atmosphere. The decor is bordering on hipster but definitely more twee (think toned down Cath Kidston meets granny chic) with a mixture of tables and booths. Lunch: The Bell & Pot Rubin [sic]. Absolutely gorgeous! I love Reubens and get them whenever I see one on a menu. This has got to be one of the best I've ever had (including from New York delicatessens). The fennel infused sauerkraut adds a special kick to this massive sandwich and there's no shortage of pastrami. Comes with some salad leaves on the side (unless you're famished I wouldn't bother ordering a side as the sandwiches are huge). The Ploughman's looked equally delicious and was also packed full of yummy ingredients. Dinner: On my second visit for dinner I was hopeful of a similar experience and The B&P didn't disappoint. While the dinner menu isn't huge it does cover all the basics for causal dining (thebellandpot.weebly.com/menus) .I was hoping to start with the pate but there was none available (considering we were the first table in the place for dinner this was a little disappointing) but the house salad was a fresh and tasty alternative. I had The B&P Gourmet Beef Burger as a main. A nice plump beef burger (not too fatty) with fresh salad, bacon (a good thick rasher of streaky bacon), relish and cheese and a side of lovely home-made chips. I can also voucher for the Pan Fried Fillet of Salmon. The B&P is a great little place with good staff and I really hope it stays around. Ideal for casual dining with friends or alone while also ideal for a quiet coffee (good coffee too!) and cake. I'll definitely be back.
