We always stop off here before The Abbey. The food is always excellent and the staff are a pleasure. Some of the cocktails are a bit sweet but not too out of the ordinary.

We visited The Grand Central Bar before going to the theatre last Friday. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and the food was delicious.

Cant comment on the food as we didn't eat but came here for cocktails two nights in a row. Reasonable prices, a lovely atmosphere and the staff were lovely! Big up to Darren who served us! Very helpful and friendly

My friend was over from London & having had a meal here last year I felt it would be nice for lunch - oh my were we disappointed!! The whole atmosphere is now very dark & depressing. Very bad lighting - unable to read the menu. There appears to be quite a rapid turn around of staff. When the waitress came over she mentioned the specials - one each day and the same every week. We had the special of the day - bangers and mash. Very spicy sausage and soggy mash smothered in gravy. The lasagne was tasty and the bruscetta was just ok. I would not be returning here and I would not recommend it.

GCCB is good bar when it comes to look , but service is very bad , staff are rude and have bad approach, me and my wife went for dinner on 22 may , we were greeted and treated rude way by one of service girl, as if we were not welcome or they were supposed to close but it was not, we cancel our dinner and had some drinks, this place is not for dinning but just for drink. We very very unhappy, we heard lot good about this place but truly not. We will never visit this bar again in future and also tell other about it . Thank u.

I had dinner hear with a friend of mine after work. The cafe was packed with people so it had a great atmosphere. The food was delicious. I had the oriental stir fry and my friend had the salmon, both meals were gorgeous. We then indulged in the apple pie which was divine. Would definitely recommend this to friends and I will be back for certain. Great staff, great menu, great value for money

Myself and partner had bar food here recently and it was awful! We went for a beef burger each. The burger came out with no dressing on the burger or even on the plate. Just served on a plain flour bun so burger tasted so dry. Mayo and ketchup sachets were on the table so had to dress up the burger with that to take away the dry taste. Skinny chips were like the ends that you would find in the fryer. The bar itself was packed and other people were eating different dishes, but I wouldn't come rushing back when there are a wide range of places to eat in the City Centre (and I made a better homemade burger myself!).

I'm a regular here for many reasons. Nice laid back atmosphere in the afternoons, getting busy at nights, especially the wkends. Lovely food, very friendly staff, can never go wrong visiting the GC! Love the old original bank features which have been kept and the furnishings matching to the place.

Ate with a friend who is a regular. The guy who served us was very friendly and efficient and was completely customer driven. Any other staff who came to the table were again pleasant and efficient, The manager also came and said a quick hello to my friend which I thought was good PR. We shared a nachos starter and I had a lasagne for mains ( the daily 10 euro special) my mate opting for prawns pil pil. We both really enjoyed our food. The atmosphere was great with good music playing in the background. We got a window seat and watched the world going by. Overall a great spot and as suggested by the name you cant get a more central location. Looking forward to my next visit.

Used a voucher for 2 main courses, 2 deserts & 2 x tea/coffee. I went chicken curry and my colleague went for the soup and atlantic salmon. It was 1730 a Monday evening and the service was top class. Noticed while I was there that there is a lunch time €10 meal on a Monday to Friday from 1200 to 1600. Different meal for €10 every day Monday to Friday featuring fish and chips, home made lasagne etc. You can get an optional soft drink for €2 extra. Great location at the junction of O'Connell Street and Abbey Street. Nice atmosphere & great service.

I like this place a lot either for drinks or food, come here quite often. Great atmosphere, beautiful architectural building deserves some appreciation, conveniently located on O'Connell Street, easy to find and get to. Last time I ordered A fresh salmon fillet with a sesame seed crust, oven baked and served on a bed of creamed potatoes and oyster stir fried vegetables topped with a garlic and caper butter. Massive portion size, more than I could eat, was delicious! Although I was already stuffed, couldn't say no to a dessert, chocolate cake always a good choice :)

I like this place and think they have a pretty decent menu. They also make a really good effort with vegetarian food. The staff were really nice on this particular occasion and checked a few times (but not overkill) to see if there was anything we needed etc. It's also a nice atmosphere to feel like you're in a pub but yet it's not pub grub. However, even though I think the food is nice etc I do think some of the dishes are a little overpriced.
