Good food served promptly. Great prawn risotto starter. One waiter reacted very quickly and professionally to help a disabled diner who got into difficulty while she was leaving and he should be commended for his strength and sensitivity.

The Terrace is understaffed and badly managed. My husband and I brought a guest to dinner here recently. My husband and I had starters, our guest did not. When the main courses arrived, my husband and I were served, but not our guest. It proved incredibly difficult to catch a waiter’s eye to rectify this as the staff were rushed off their feet. Then we ordered three glasses of wine, two of the same house red, and one of white. One red wine and one white wine arrived, while our guest, the third member of our party, remained unserved. Again, it proved extremely difficult to catch anyone's eye to have this rectified. By the same we succeeded, the main courses were finished and our guest cancelled his wine order. Yes, it was a busy evening - but the National Concert Hall restaurant has had years of experience in serving large numbers in a short time frame (i.e., before the concert begins). I do not blame the waiting staff, of whom there were simply too few. The problem was with the complete absence of visible management. The restaurant is divided into two sections; we were in the back section. It was only as we left that we spotted a maître d' in the front section. She had never entered the back section throughout the entire meal. This is inexcusable. I spoke to her about the embarrassment of having our guest subjected to such an unsatisfactory meal experience. I found her response quite cursory. The food was about average for the price range. If you are planning a trip to the NCH, your can do a LOT better than eating here.

Excellent food and wine, which is the most important thing. A bit on a pricey side but worth it , especially when looking forward to a nice performance after the meal. Completes the concert night out perfectly.

I really enjoyed the afternoon tea in the NCH. The scones and pastries were really nice. The scones were light and airy on the inside and crisp on the outside, the lightly flavoured vanilla cream that was served with the scones was delish. The sandwiches were nice too but I left there was maybe not enough savoury items on the platter and too many sweet options. I think I would also present the 3 types of sandwiches on different breads- wrap/brown soda/loaf. Having said that the fillings in the sandwiches were very tasty. I loved the china cup and saucer and the coffee was really good too. I had afternoon tea there twice and the second time we got a fresh linen tablecloth and this was really nice as the first time I was there we had a plastic table cloth and it was tea stained so it took from the overall experience a little. Overall this was a very enjoyable experience and the outdoor terrace area is really nice.

Having had a disappointing afternoon tea two weeks ago I returned yesterday to use my second voucher. This was a much better event and my friend and I had a very enjoyable afternoon. It appears that my request for a gluten free tea had not come through to the restaurant from Menu pages (perhaps a glitch in the system) but the staff managed very well to produce a lovely selection of gluten free sandwiches and desserts. There were plenty of coffee and tea refills and the manager gave us a complimentary limoncello sorbet because of the initial delay, which was an added bonus. The table settings were very attractive and the whole atmosphere was very pleasant. I'm glad that I was able to have a second visit and then to be able to give a very positive review this time.

I had afternoon tea here with a friend.Table was beautifully laid out. As much tea and coffee as we wanted. Lovely selection of sandwiches, 2 scones each with jam and cream and a lovely selection of yummy pasteries! The reason why I gave it a 4 for food was I like really fresh bread, although the bread was fresh on the sandwiches I felt it could have been fresher. Overall a winner for me and I would recommed it.

It was a lady's day out , from the moment that we arrived management and team worked their magic with the service. When the afternoon tea arrived it was perfect . It brought back memories for my mom when she used to take afternoon tea with her own mother. A lovely afternoon
