To all out there who read this review I highly recommend that you: • Watch “The Mind of a Chef”, Season 1, Episode 1, titled “Noodle” (Netflix) • Go directly to “The Ramen Bar” and have a ramen experience second to none. The restaurant’s decor is so very much like the ramen restaurants that Chef David Chang visits in the show that upon entering the restaurant you feel as if you’ve left Dublin are on a back street of Tokyo. First things first, the restaurant has a ramen noodle machine from Japan turning out as authentic as you can get ramen noodle outside of Japan. Secondly it’s all about the broth. The broth of my Shoyu Tonkotsu was immensely complex, flavourful and rich. The chasu pork in the broth melted in my mouth and the added sheet of nori complemented the broth & noodle perfectly. One of the diners at my table opted for the Ginger Chicken ramen bowl. The broth was lighter than the Shoyu broth but was equally, superbly satisfying. Last of all the price is right. The ramen dishes are just under €15.00 and they provide a free amuse-bouche which starts the meal perfectly. For the four of us with three beers, two bottles of wine and the gratuity for excellent service the bill came to €25.00 a head. I give this place a 10 out of 10 for unique food of the highest quality, excellent service, value for money and authentic ambiance. I hope you find it the same as myself.
