Went here with my boyfriend for an early breakfast as we hadn't been in since Bewley's closed. The place is really nice. Not crowded as I expected but still busy. We were seated on the 2nd floor and had a great view of downstairs and the stain glass windows. The menu reads beautifully for foodies who like their breakfasts - I took ages to decide. I love my pancakes when I go to the states so I had to order them with the maple syrup. My boyfriend ordered the full Irish which came with a small pot of tea and I got a small cafetiere of coffee which was delicious. The OJ came out in a deceptively small but stylish triangular glass. It's the small things!! Unfortunately, my pancakes were bland as be damned - even with the syrup. My boyfriend's brekkie was beautiful. Everything was tasty, the poached egg cooked softly to perfection. (Although we did have to ask for the homemade relish which should've come with the breakfast, got a funny look when we asked for it). I would go back for a 2nd try as it is good value and great atmos.

Going to this place for years. Was so upset when it was due to close. Glad it stayed open and retained its decor. Met a friend there recently for an early morning scone and coffee, very pleasant, especially as we managed to secure a window seat and watch the street entertainers outside. I did feel it was a bit much to be charged extra for my decaf cappuccino, its €3.24 for a regular capo, which I do think is excessive.
