Great meal but the Irish Coffee after was only average. The ingredients were correct but there is a lot more than that to making one properly.

Party of 5 friends. we had the early bird menu. The waiter very politely asked if any of the party had allergies and explained that some of the food was spicy. The food was beautiful and the service excellent. The only issue was that the lighting upstairs was VERY dark and it was actually hard to see the food on the plates. We have been before and probably will revisit.

The Green Hen is simply perfect. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is charming and the music is low enough that you can carry on a conversation with your dining companions. Oh, did I forget to mention the service is excellent? This is my second time there and I can’t wait for the third!

Booking confirmed for 2.30 . Arrived at restaurant for lunch and kept waiting as large party upstairs had not vacated their table. When eventually shown to our table and put in our order had to wait over 30mins for main course which when it arrived was warm not hot!! Music in room quite loud and asked for it to be turned down which they did but was informed that some of the tracks louder than others maybe have a look at playlist. Like to have a conversation not a shouting match. Food very mediocre...I have been here on a number of occasions before today and have had far superior nofferings. Very disappointed and unfortunately will not return. Whilst I realise the restaurant was very busy it's not up to the customer to be disappointed but for staff to make sure it's properly run. Today not the case.

The atmosphere was very nice, the food was good not fab and the wine was really expensive for the type of restaurant it would put me off going back cheapest Sauvignon was 34 euros and it wasn't even great I would expect to pay this in a much more expensive restaurant

You can't fault the food or the atmosphere here. We had a celebration meal for four here and everything was cooked beautifully and flavours were great. But for the prices charged I would expect a top notch experience, and I think there's a certain attitude that came across that was perhaps a bit rigid. We had been warned that they would want the table back after two hours as it was busy and we had agreed, but whatever way the service went we did feel a bit hassled at the end (the waiter did want to bring the bill in advance of our two hours). Little things like charging extra for bread for the table, and not being told about the specials added to the sense that this was a place a bit under pressure. Came away feeling a bit like we were back in the Celtic tiger years and for what we paid, I didn't want that kind of experience. A bit too pricey, overall. Won't be rushing back, but it's probably much better mid week.

Decided to try out The Green Hen with a colleague. Quite atmospheric and liked the inside decor. Starter was excellent and both ordered the surf and turf. Very little surf though it was tasty. My steak was delicious and cooked perfectly. My colleague ordered a medium to well streak but all you could taste was burnt charring. Felt too expensive for what it was, especially the wine menu (only one bottle of each under €30).

It was our first visit to The Green Hen. The waitress was very attentive. The peach bellini and kir royal were nice, but could have been a tad colder. My husband loved his hake and it was expertly cooked. My sirloin was delicious and cooked to perfection. Good french fries. Will definitely return.

Only ok, first time in Green Hen, food was good but prices for what we got. More expensive than I thought. No bread to nibble on before starters, we were given a bad table, wine list wasn't great. We had nice night but don't think I'll be rushin back.

Excellent as always, delicious cocktails, extensive wine list, starters and mains were perfect and my steak couldn't have been done better. Decor is lovely and the staff were attentive without being overbearing. Will be coming back again and again

I'd the pleasure to dine here again, this time on a Tuesday afternoon - the food was outstanding. Everything was beautifully presented and flavours worked well together. Id the hake for main and the sauce with it was gorgeous! I tried some of the sea bass - the special for the day, and it was just as good! We shared a cheesecake for desert - It was served with a sorbet on the side which was really really refreshing! The coffee is nice and strong, staff are lovely! Would definitely recommend!

Nice atmosphere. Taste food . However surf and turf for n32 euro was too dear.it was ordinary. The scallops starter for 12 euro was exorbitant when the option was only 4 scallops. Not sure we will return.n

I had the pleasure of trying out the Green Hen a few days ago. I was there midweek with my Aunt for lunch and the place was very busy - tends to be a good sign - and it wasn't misleading. The service was very attentive without being in your face, and the food was gorgeous. Both myself and my Aunt were delighted with our choices. Id definitely recommend it and will return again!
