Went with the girls for cocktails & had a bite to eat while we were there. Nice atmosphere & good service but the food portions were a bit on the small side for the price.

Hi, I booked a table for 3 people under booking ref 375957. When I arrived there was no table booked. This was very disappointing on Menupages side & also on the manger of the Exchequer who was not willing to accommodate us or in the position to as the restaurant was fully booked. We spoke with a lovely lady who was serving in the restaurant & she manged to set us up a table & we did have a lovely meal. When speaking with the manager they said they are not affiliated with Menupages & yet I got a confirmation for the booking & an email this morning looking for a review. Can you please come back to me on this with some feedback as I have also booked a table in The Camden Kitchen for the 16th December & do want to be disappointed.

Booked for 7PM Saturday - recommended by our 28 yr old daughter. Bad omen approaching the place when we could hear the loud music thru the glass dors and windows from the dtreet ! Much louder inside. Table not ready so we had to wait. Eventually seated in that strange long dining area. Mrs G got her back to the wall out of the noise. I was in the aisle with my left ear unprotected. Wine starts at €25 ! Starters of pate (i'll call it what it was' and goats cheese bought in and uninspiring. I had the Ling fingers (Fish & Chips) which were soggy. Mrs G had the bacon & Cabbage ( came on a board !! a lump of bacon and a skillet of cabbage drowned in cream). Hugely dissapointing. Compained but were made feel like we were the first ever to complain. Not a good experience - won't be back. Only positive is that the waiters and waitresses were friendly !

Went here for a special treat. It was wonderful. They do fabulous "key lime" cocktails, a special treat! The atmosphere is classy and special. The decor is pared back which adds a sort of sophistication.

One of the best atmospheres I've experience in Dublin. Food was fresh and impressively presented. The cocktails are second to none in Dublin and certainly worth every penny. Would fully recommend it for people who want a special evening out.

The Exchequer is not really for me I feel the restaurant or eating part is a strange room and although I cant fault the food and the portions are huge but you can get similar in most restaurants in town and they have a superior atmosphere. The service wasn't great it took ages to get drinks and we had to keep asking for them.

Went there with the gang for Sunday brunch. The food (as usual) was delicious. The beef was cooked to perfection and the chestnut stuffing and gravy was out of this world. I think they were unfortunately understaffed this occasion.

Was pleasantly surprised with this place for dinner. I had always assumed it feel quite pub like while dining but the seperate restaurant at the back is quite nice and cozy. The cocktail list is a must and the dishes presentation and taste was quite good. I will be back and i would highly recommend!

The early bird ends here at 4pm on Fridays so I imagine that's why it wasn't as busy as we expected at 6.30pm but there was a good buzz. The layout is modern with predominantly bench style seating and cutlery placed in pint glasses on the table. Staff were a little too quick to tell us we had to vacate the table by 8.30pm but we had no issue with this as we were going out after anyway. The only menu option was the a la carte and for a gastropub it is very expensive. Starters average at €9, mains €23 and side dishes are an extra €3.50. None of us opted for starters, for mains we had bacon & cabbage, venison, veal and fish of the day which was trout. It took approximately 20 mins for the dishes to arrive. They were beautifully presented but portions were very well controlled. The best laugh of the night came with the arrival of the side salad that was ordered. It was the smallest side salad we'd every seen. The desserts were the usual types - brownies, jelly and ice cream etc - all with a twist and again, beautifully presented at €5.50 each. Everyone was happy with their dishes but we all felt that it was seriously overpriced for a gastropub and if any of us were to return, it would be for the early bird or Sunday lunch specials.

My son organised the roast dinner here for my birthday and it was delicious. it was such a novelty having your own roast delivered to your table with all the trimmings and serving it yourself. It was like having a dinner at home without all the trouble and great fun. The pork was 'melt in the mouth' and everything else was lovely. Would definitely return for the roast dinner but also for the regular dining.

I'd been to The Exchequer a couple of times just for drinks and liked it well enough except for the battered armchair which ripped my dress on one occasion! Anyway this time I went for food and had the best meal I've had in ages! I had the lamb which I would never usually order and it was absolutely delicious, perfectly cooked and served with a great assortment of veg, so great in fact that I even thought I didn't need the roast potatoes that came with it, and I never say that about a carb!! It took a while to be served as it is cooked to order but I didn't mind at all because the waiter had told me that in advance. My friend had the duck wellington and was equally impressed, although was a bit upset not to get any potatoes but I was happy to share mine! Staff were really really friendly and chatty. Will definitely be back, can't wait to try the Sunday roast!

Went on spec last Sunday, might be an idea to book ahead next time. Lovely menu with the option to prebook your own party's roast. Loved the friendly staff, the warm spiced pumpkin salad & especially loved our pre-dinner mojito! Will definitely return.
