I got here at least once a month with clients for lunch. The food is excellent and the staff are always prepared to meet any dietary requirements a person may have. Main course

After work event here on a sunny Friday evening! Went for Philly steak sambo and it was one of the best pub meals I've ever had. A few chicken wings between friends also on the table and they were lovely too. Food was great all round. Service was slow at 1st to get ordered as its a busy spot but it arrived promptly once ordered. Would recommend highly!

Went In for food with friends, I had the fish and chips which was excellent, friends ordered the same and had the same feeling. Decor in the pub has a lovely feel with the open fire and over looking the canal. Service and staff were great, I'd highly recommend a visit :)

This has to be one of the worst meals I have ever paid for. We opted for the sharing platter which is pretty hard to get wrong and it was barely edible, food was burnt, dry and dripping in grease. Everything was brown. It was clear that no effort had been made and it was thrown together. As a group of four, nobody was impressed with their choices. We most certainly will not be returning, hard to see how this place does a trade in a city full of great places to eat. n

I had a really nice relaxing lunch by the fire in the barge on new years day and was happy with the food, the place, the staff and the surroundings. I was also pleased with the cost and because the food was good I will hopefully get a chance to return again. I can recommend to others.

This is an ideal pub for either a relaxed weekend carvery with family or friends or for a more formal or intimate evening meal. The a la carte menu is extensive but somewhat pricey making The Barge the place to go for a special occasion evening meal. The carvery which is reasonably priced is of high quality and is a decent portion.

I have lunch here from time to time as I work nearby. The staff are always pleasant and it is very reasonable. Wraps and sanwiches are nice with plenty of fillings and some nice crisps on the side.

I have had food here from the evening menu a good few times. I think the food is great especially the steak baguette. The service is great, staff are really friendly and the atmosphere is great.

the food for the sunday lunch was very average. i found the chicken to be very dry although we did eat rather late for a sunday lunch and it had probably spent quite a while on display.the price of teh food is decent enough and is good value for the amount you get.overall i found it to be a pleasant place in which to eat and drink on a sunny sunday afternoon and it is located directly across form the luas stop a charlemont which is also very convenient.

Went here as part of an informal xmas party last night, we ordered some nibbles (chicken wings, chips etc) and got two platters. Not huge platters, average sized. We then got presented with a bill for €100! One hundred euro! Absolutely outrageous. We had gone fun but won't be back, there's too many decent pubs around here to choose from

My boyfriend keeps making me come here for the carvery when you can get way better food for the same price elsewhere. Food is not awful but not great either. Boys seem to really like eating here but I think it's mostly because of the big screens that show soccer all the time.

Stopped in for a bit on Monday evening. Bank holiday so very busy but the service was very quick and we didnt have to wait long. Chicken wings for starters very good. went with the steak for the main - not very good but i guess it's not a steakhouse so should have ordered something else. overall good oub grub and good value.

Was freezing cold so went for a toasted special in the barge. Nice sambo, with a side of crips. A pot of tea helped unfreeze my hands so I was happy. Good simple food at reasonable prices.

Went for Sunday roast and it was fine. I had the beef, my boyfriend had the turkey. Both came served with a selection of vegetables and potatoes. It was OK, average rather, the food proably spent a couple oof hours on the on the hot plate.
