Peploes is consistent. The food is of a superb quality, portion sizes are just right and the service is attentive without being too in your face. The Grilled Scallops, Bean Cassoulet, Morteau Sausage, Octopus & Tardivo Salad (€16.50) starter and Marrow Crusted Irish Fillet Steak with Crisp Potatoes (€32.50) didn't disappoint. They kindly offered to substitute the pepper sauce for a most delicious bernaise sauce. Peploes is a treat - worth the splurge. And don't forget to get a side of potato dauphinois!

Love Peploe's, it's pricey enough but the food is excellent! Well worth a visit!

This restaurant was an absolute disaster from start to finish. On entering sweet paper on the sticky floor. No smiles or proper from front of house person. Crumbs on the leatherette seats we were guided to. Thumbprints on plates. Food less than mediocre. Do not eat here
Dear Kate Truly appalled to read your derogatory review here on Menu Pages. I remember the occasion of your visit, you did not give us any opportunity to engage with you on the night. Impossible to react favourably to your decision to take to a 3rd party site to complain further in this grossly unfair manner. All I can do, is categorically dispute your allegations and wish you good day! Regards Frederic Pelanne General Manager

Had a late lunch (3pm booking) here last week with a group of friends. We were cold throughout the lunch. The air conditioning unit was above our table, leaving the area very cold. We asked immediately to move to another table; our request was refused, even though there were several empty tables, which remained empty throughout our stay. Again when our dessert was served, we asked to move and were told we could sit at the bar if we wanted! The restaurant was practically empty at this stage! Food was good but not exceptional, vegetables had to be ordered separately, and cost €3.95 per serving. I consider this a rip off when you are paying €30 for a main course!! Service was mediocre. Our wine glasses were kept well topped up, but water glasses were not. We were asked several times if we wanted another bottle of wine, which we did not. I had intended booking for another lunch with friends, but will now go elsewhere. I would not go back to Peploes, and would not recommend it. There are much better restaurants in the vicinity with better food, value and service.

One of my favourite restaurants in town. Been here with family several times and booked it today for my friend's birthday. Great ambience, delicious food with good value, top mark on service and clean restrooms too. A GREAT RESTAURANT should have all the above criteria. Most importantly the birthday girl is happy out!!!! :)

Fantastic place...cant belive I've not been here sooner! Was amazing good, great atmosphere and service. Pricey but accurate pricing for the food and service and definitely worth it for a special occasion.

Was there with people from work. Loved the table where were sitting, service was great, wine & food was amazing. They did get one main course wrong so was delayed for one of the group but they took it off the bill & were very apologetic. Would definitely be back.

Went for my husbands birthday. The place was recommended and we weren't disappointed. The meal was exquisite. The ambience was great and the service was really excellent. I am not an expert, but for me it was close to michellin start quality. Brilliant!

Went to Peploes for our 'romantic' Wedding Anniversary Dinner, we were greeted by a very friendly lady at front of house but all went downhill after that! We were put at a table for two which was so close to the people on both sides of us, we felt we might as well have joined them. At the prices they are charging I feel the tables could be a little more intimate or at least further apart so that we don't have to listen to everybody else's conversation. I ordered the Brie Starter which was really good, my husband ordered the prawns and squid 'miso' - which was so tough and chewy that he couldn't even finish it. Waiter was so eager to take our starter plates, he didn't even notice that my husband hadn't finished!! We both ordered steak, my fillet steak was good and cooked to perfection, but sirloin steak was tough and chewy. Plates were swiftly taken away again, not giving us a minute to digest our food. We decided to leave it at that as we were getting bored with our neighbours conversation!!!! Overall a very unsatisfactory experience which we will not be repeating!!

Expensive but great food / great location. Try the venison if it's on the menu. Staff knowledgeable and helpful/friendly.

We go to Peploes all the time especially for lunch and have never been disappointed. So when a Brunch voucher for 2 came along we were very happy to purchase. Basically not worth it. Very disappointing

Went on a Friday night with my boyfriend to celebrate my birthday. Brie to start was delicious but himself didn't like the sauce on his scallops. He loved his sirloin steak for main course though. I ordered the marrow crusted fillet, it was perfectly cooked but the marrow crust had a very strong flavour and overpowered the steak so I scraped it off. The menu said it came with pepper sauce but I got a jus, I didn't mind but would have preferred the pepper sauce. Mash was delicious. Side of onion rings was enormous! We shared lemon meringue tart for dessert which was nice but not any better than you'd get somewhere else for a quarter of the price! There's a large but somewhat limited wine list in that it's mostly French and Italian wines, there are no "new world" wines on the list which I found a bit old fashioned! Service was excellent and the restaurant was full and pleasantly noisy.

We came here for a business lunch on a Wednesday afternoon and I was pleasantly surprised to see the place rammed at lunchtime, what recession?! The set menu was amazing, with the calamari starter a delight, the striploin main came with a loved breaded layer and skinny chips on the side, great combo with the tasty gravy! All-in-all, would highly recommend Peploes and will be back for sure!

We visited on a Saturday night. It was full, loud and buzzy. Our table booked for 8.30pm was ready and waiting. Our waitress an Italian girl was superb. She was knowledgeable and fluent in English. 3 out of 4 of us ordered steak. Each one different and all received well by my friends. I ordered Monkfish which I thought was a bit overcooked and a little on the warm rather than hot side. The side of Spinach with pinenuts was delicious and the broccoli with chorizo was fresh and bright green. The desserts were a tad disappointing. The orange cake turned out to be a dry square of sponge with a dollop of ice cream. The grilled pineapple was a cold sorbet. Overall we had a great night. It is up t you to decide if it is good value for money as the menus are online. It is in a most prestigious location. The noise level was just a full restaurant with a lot of chatter but if you are deaf in one ear then maybe choose a weekday night.
