Visited here for the 1st time yesterday, overall very good but a couple of points I did not like, I had booked online for 7.30 but got an email to say it would be 8.00, we arrived at 7.30 and were shown to the bar, with a wine menu. At 8 we were shown to a table that had been empty since we arrived! Not happy, I feel we were co-erced into buying drink. Also the starters were VERY expensive. I had the scallops which were lovely, but 14.95 for 3 scallops, and some tasteless celeraic mash, outrageous. The scampi main was great, lots of it, and good value

Restaurant was bustling on a sunny evening. Food was excellent - tuna burger and fish and chips. White chocolate and coconut desert was tasty and unusual. All in all a great place.

Excellent service, food and atmosphere. One of the nicest meals I've ever enjoyed, without doubt well worth a return visit.

Had lunch here on a Saturday. Wasn't too busy but clashed with a six nations rugby match. Service was very good and food is good though on simple side

We had dinner at Matt the Thresher & weren't impressed. The service was really poor & the food wasn't great. We ordered food & incorrect items were served, a baked potato turned out to be 2 small partly boiled potatoes which were rock hard. Green beans were actually sugar snap peas. Our main courses were served & we had to request cutlery. My friend asked to mashed potato instead of saute potatoes which were part of fish special & was charged extra. Most of our main courses were cold. Wine glass was cracked & after 4 requests it was replaced. When we complained about the service the staff didn't agree & were quiet argumentative. We told them we'd leave bad review & they said go ahead. Not very professional. We had eaten here before & service was okay but won't be rushing back.

Popped in for the early bird before we headed to the NCH. The place was buzzing at 6pm on this Friday evening. Service was friendly and attentive and the food was good and some nice choice on the early bird menu. Definitely a place to return to!

We, two couples, had a table booked for 8pm but arrived early and had a drink at the bar. That was fine, we weren't in any rush, but it took until about 8:40pm until we were given a table and another 45 minutes for the starter to arrive. The staff were very friendly and relaxed and so were we, so it made for a good night. The food was well presented, unfortunately most of us had our eye on some of the daily specials, which were sold out by the time we got to order. If it hadn't been for the long delays and the lack of options from the specials menu, this venue would have scored a good deal higher.

Great food as usual. Ling with cehrizo, tomatoe and chicpeas was to die. Desert light and delicate taste. Well done all

Went there for dinner on a Tuesday evening. Service was terrible. The place was pretty full and it looked like there were just 3 waiters on duty. When our starters eventually arrived we mentioned this to the waiter. He was very apologetic and courteous explaining that yes, they were under pressure and that was fine, we accepted that. He was just doing his job. The waiter even joked with us that we should have been there the previous day, it was worse!!. After a further long delay before the main course the maitre d' came around to all tables asking if everything was ok. Again we mentioned that the service was really slow, just mentioned it, did not in any way complain. He took exception to this and actually got very confrontational. Why even bother asking people if things are ok when if negative feedback is given they are not willing to acceptacknowledge it. He was incredibly rude and pretty much told us to put up with it and not to be complaining. I'm sorry, if you haven't got enough staff to cater for the customers then cut down on the amount of people you are trying to serve. Don't be so greedy. I told him that one thing was certain, we will never return again. He didn't seem to care at all. His attitude was shocking. We should have just left there and then. Really really poor customer service from the maitre d' and a shocking attitude towards paying customers. I feel sorry for the waiters having to work for such a person. No apology or acknowledgement of the poor service what so ever. The food was below average. Shellfish was bland, didn't seem to be fresh. Garlic bread that came with mussels was revolting, I had one bite and can still taste it this morning, we didn't even bother to complain about that. There was no point. Avoid this place its not good.

I have eaten here a few times and the food and service is always good. It's great to have some place in town that is more casual dining - but where the food is still Top Class - seafood in particular being their strength. Despite the menu being diverse, there are always a few (fish) specials to mull over - but everything I have ever tried has been delicious and staff, service and location all excellent, would recommend it to anyone.

Beautiful restaurant. Staff here while busy are super, informative, friendly and very efficient. This place is in town, really busy, and having been I can see why! The menu is delicious and the daily specials even more appealing! Had a delicious meal, will definitely be back.
