In April 2009 Breton chef Olivier Quenet transformed his French cafe and boulangerie, La Maison des Gourmets into a simple yet chic restaurant where he aims to continue his dedication to Irish people eating affordable freshly prepared produce.

The authenticity of La Maison begins with the artwork, works by Leonetto Cappiello, L’oir Dor, and Diable Vent, all sourced from the Paris at Puces market. Doisneau photographs line the stairs offering a touch of romance to this relaxed space. On the second level the dining room is light and airy, with sash windows looking out onto the bustling Castle Market Street.

Come and experience the best terrace in Dublin located just a minutes walk from Grafton Street and open from 12.30pm until close seven days a week.

I have been to La Maison a few times but had not been there for a while. I was not disappointed. The food was excellent and the service was superb.

This used to be my meeting point for friends when it was still a bakery and we finally made it to the restaurant. We loved the cozy atmosphere. We ordered scallops (a tad overcooked) to share and both had fish for our main course, which was good. The carafe of house red was excellent. We loved the way they presented chocolate with a carving knife on a wooden board to accompany our espressos. The staff were friendly and efficient. We would definitely return.

I have passed by La Maison in Castle Market and thought it looked so beautiful. I purchased a deal before a friend arrived over from UK for 60 e worth of food and drink for 29 e. I was a little dubious as I am vegan and French restaurants are not known for their love of vegans!. I need not have worried, I rang ahead and when I arrived, the waiter had a list of vegan options available for me. The ambience in this restaurant is truly wonderful. We were seated near the window looking out on my favourite part of Dublin, the best spot to people watch. For starters, I was given a beautiful salad, very nicely garnished and sauted. My mains was a lentil ragu dish which was both hearty and flavoursome. House wine was fantastic. I really hope La Maison start to put some vegi and vegan options on their actual menu. Fantastic visit. I will be back.

Absolutely super food and wine in the confines of a cosy restaurant. Lovely menu which leaves it hard to choose, good wine list too. I would definitely recommend this romantic restaurant.

A little taste of Paris for the duration you step inside this restaurant. Love the place, service (especially Roman) and food is always excellent. They make the best pies I've ever tasted and as someone who would never usually order dessert I just can't resist the Tart Tatin. My favourite restaurant in Dublin

We had a lovely three course meal in La Maison on Saturday night. We sat outside to get the atmosphere of the street and with outside heaters and blankets it was nice and cosy. The food was beautiful. We shared the crab for starter which was plenty for two people. We had Sea bass and Brill fillet for mains and both were cooked to a tee. They were both light but yet filling. The house white wine could have been better. There was not much options for glasses of wines. The toilets were clean. For dessert we had chocolate moose with ice-cream. You also receive Dark and White chocolate when you receive your bill which is a nice touch. I will definitely go there again. Booking is advised on weekends.

First the menu. It's different then other restaurant, what I really like. Big choice of fish, but also for non-fish eaters there was choice of meat. As starter we, my partner and I, had both the prawn bisque. It was really well presented and they finished the plated at the table. Great. Although in my opinion it was to sweet. As main I had the Monkfish. Good fish, well prepared, but also in this dish the braised vegetable were too sweet. The portion sizes are perfect and is completed. No need to order any side dishes. The service is perfect. To start with we got bread with home made pesto. Great pesto. When we finished the plate, we got a new plate with bread and pesto. After our starter we got an little appetizer from the house and the bill came with home made white and dark chocolate. Overall good food, great athmosphere and an excellent service.

Received a €60 voucher to dine in La Maison. On arrival, the restaurant was very busy and the only table free inside was squeezed in between 2 other sets of diners so we chose to eat outside. It was a cold evening but blankets and heaters are provided so it was actually quite nice to sit outside and watch everybody passing. For starters, I had the prawn bisque and my partner had a cheese salad. I enjoyed my starter however my partner's starter wasn't to his taste. (I'm sure there was nothing wrong with it, he just found the cheese to be too strong) For mains, I had monkfish with a risotto and it was beautiful and tasty. My partner had the coq au vin and it was equally impressive. We both opted for the chocolate melting puddings for dessert and they were perfect. (We did however wait a long time for them due to the first batch being burned but the waiters were very good to keep us informed) On receiving the bill, the waiter remarked that he hadn't charged us for my partners starter. This was a nice surprise and totally unexpected as there was nothing wrong with the dish, it just wasn't to his taste. Either way, it left a very positive feeling that the restaurant values it's customers. There also seemed to be a lot of French diners which I can only assume is a good thing for a French restaurant.

Lovely early bird mid week to escape the kitchen and have a treat! Had the mackerel salad followed by the baked aubergine for just €22. The staff were very professional, this is a real top class restaurant and the location is perfect for a quick bite to eat after work.

I looked up the Michelin list to be sure of a good quality meal for myself and my husband and I have to say we were very disappointed with La Maison. My husband had the duck dish and I had lamb with chickpeas. the Lamb tasted tough dry and oversalted. The duck was so tough you could barely cut through it with the knife. I see all the other positive reviews and this review may seem like some one who just wants to moan by comparison but this is not the type of person I am, I have never written a restaurant review before but the food was so bad and typical of Irish people we did not complain on the night but I do want to warn others. Even the people beside us complained because the fish dish they had ordered(E33.00) had no sides whatsoever, The response was this is a Michelin star restaurant that it the price bracket for a Michelin star. On a positive note my husbands desert was delicious and the waiting staff were attentive. At over E100.00 this was the worst food I have had in years.
