Went with my wife for Sunday brunch. Nice cosy atmosphere. Staff very friendly and efficient. I had roast beef with all the trimmings and it was very tasty. Lynn had spatchcock style chicken and it was superb. A nice bottle of merlot to wash it down was also very good. Highly recommend Hugo's for Sunday brunch.

I went for lunch here with my Mam on a Thur afternoon, it was jammed! From the moment we walked in we were made to feel very welcome, the staff were all lovely, authentic smiles and great service! We ate on a Taste voucher, and the food would encourage me to return again. I tried the Vietnamese pork for starter, full of lovely flavours - I got the burger for main's and it was tasty also! The coffee is proper - great strength to it and I was shattered before going for food so top marks on that also. We shared a desert - all round, a lovely place to spend a some time and enjoy good food!

I was there for a night out with a group of 5 girlfriends and we had a wonderful evening. From the friendly service to the excellent food to the warm ambience and not least the great value for money. We enjoyed the Early Bird menu and it had something for everyone. I loved the crab starter - really good. But the best of all was the team in Hugos - they really went out of their way to look after us adding to an overall wonderful experience. I will be back.

First time at the restaurant. We were really impressed with the service and food quality. The staff were attentive but not intrusive. We had the goats cheese & confit of duck for starter, steak for main and a delicious cheese plate for dessert. The steak was perfectly cooked and the portion sizes were just right. Couldn't fault this place. Will definitely be going back.

Was here last night & got the goats cheese salad for starter. It was lovely but nothing spectacular. Same can be said of my main course - I had the plaice & chips. I think this restaurant could have been built up too much by friends so maybe my expectations were too high & I was a little disappointed. Skipped desert but friends got the brownies & they looked amazing! The service was fantastic as was the atmosphere, despite it being a Wednesday night!

We were first time visitors here looking for brunch on a quiet Sunday and it was a very pleasant surprise. The food - a smoked haddock salad and the eggs benedict and a side of the nicest chips I've ever tasted - portion size was generous and service was professional and friendly. Would definitely recommend.

Everything was perfect. We were downstairs at a table of 4. The restaurant had a quiet buzz about it of people chatting and enjoying themselves. All 3 courses were tasty and on time for all of the people at the table and the red wine flowed. Could not recommend this restaurant more. Great value for the service and food

Decided to give Hugo's a try for the first time at lunch today. The front of house greeted me and showed me to a table near the back of undoubtedly beautiful restaurant. The waiter came and read out the specials and I decided to go for the game pie with salad and fries. Service was quite prompt. The presentation of the dish was very good, served on a wooden board with the fries in a little frying basket. The pie wasn't great in the end though - there simply wasn't enough meat in it - too much tomato base instead. I left still feeling hungry. Perhaps next time I will go for the tempura of place which looked more tempting!

We are regular patrons to Hugo's and usually enjoy the experience, However it seems to have dropped its standards due to its popularity. We booked a window table to be told that it wasn't available as someone else had booked it. We let it go as the restaurant was busy and normally there is no mix up. We had the Cooleeney Irish Brie and Dressed Crab for starters. Crab was bland and tasteless. Brie was just OK I was informed. We both had Sea Bream for mains. It was dry, over baked and lukewarm. The crushed potato equally unappealing and lukewarm. Waiter was not enjoying his job and unfriendly. Very evident that the woman behind the desk was tuned into our conversation. Waitress however was very pleasant and attentive. We were offered dessert menus and advised at the same time they wanted the table back in 15 mins, That was the final straw.I realise they want to maximise their turnover at weekends but in so doing are crippling future return business. The restaurant was extremely busy. it resembled a conveyor belt of people filing through the doors. Our bill came to just under €100 which included a bottle of wine at €29. Expensive for mediocre food and bad attitude. The owner Padraig did not appear to be present so perhaps that had an effect on the overall experience. We were very disappointed, not at all the pleasant experience it used to be.

This is a lovely restaurant. It is warm and cozy and very welcoming, cut to its pleasant red and gold decor and friendly staff. We had the early bird menu which was excellent value. My husband had the crab starter, and I had the duck with onion marmalade. Both were delicious, fresh and swiftly served. We both had the roast chicken main course, and thoroughly enjoyed it. The chicken was perfectly cooked with lots of lovely mash and two sauces, one being a mushroom volute, which looked a little like mushroom soup, but was very tasty. A bottle of wine and peligrino, plus lovely bread, and the whole bill was 78 euros. Excellent value. We forgot to leave a tip, so we will definitely be back.

We had Brunch here Sunday,, the atmosphere and service were excellent, but we didn't find the quality of food up to the standard we were expecting, eggs Benedict don't really come with any side, only a small garnish salad, and they were almost cold as was the pull pork sandwich dish. My brunch experience wasn't great, but I would definitely go back to try the dinner menu.
