Anybody who is familiar with Dublin pub food will be aware of Davy Byrne's food reputation, in which seafood is the specialty. If you visit the premises at lunchtime and evening time, you will witness the huge trade which is done in fresh salmon, smoked salmon and crab dishes.
There is also a full range of hot meals and salads to compliment these and, as often as not, you can enjoy a lunch or an evening meal of oysters and Guinness.
The decor of Davy Byrnes is original, authentic and pre Second World War in theme. You will notice the three educational murals of Joycean Dublin by Liam Proud, the priceless murals of the 1940's by Cecil French Salkeld, who was Brendan Behan's father-in-law and the fine sculptors of Eddie Delaney and John Behan.
If you get the opportunity to examine the murals when the premises is not busy, you will notice one of the man that first came to this premises one hundred years ago - Davy Byrne. As he surveys the premises from his majestic throne, you can reflect on an age that is past but not forgotten in a premises which is one of Dublin's most active fashionable and sought out watering holes.
As a well known Irish bar offering the highest quality pub food we hope to be serving you a quality pint of Guinness or Good food from our pub menus soon.

I brought three American friends for a drink and appetizers on Sat afternoon. We had one pint of Guinness, a glass of Guinness, two glasses of wine and the cheese board. we were served two plates with a Fr minimum amount of cheese, some crackers, couple of slices of tomato and the usual Rocket garnish - price €18.90. Total bill €41.45. Very disappointing, I won't be going back.

We eat here occasionally as it is a favourite of a friend. As a Dublin pub it has a great atmosphere and beautiful decor. food is good pub fare - I had a lovely crab salad - really fresh crab which can be hard to get. My friends had fish and chips, a salmon and bearnaise tart and a tagliatelle carbonara. All were very pleased. For a pub it also has a very good and reasonable wine list. I know I will be back.

Good food but I was disappointed the fish & chips didn't come with mushy peas. Great location!

Called in to Davy Byrnes for Lunch today with a friend of mine. Always a super athmosphere with lots of busy shoppers chatting about their super finds. The fish with Veg and mash was a generous size portion, pretty basic veg cabbage and carrot. Chicken and Brocolli Pie was cleared off the plate in seconds. Excellent. Service was prompt and professional, Bill was correct and reasonable. overall a great experience and I look forward to Lunch on Grafton street again.

The place was a bit crowded but the atmosphere was still great. I had the tiger prawns in filo pastry which I really recommend. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The portion sizes are not small and the food was very tasty.
